Duly Noted As A Swipe From Riehl World View

~Snooper~

This is something that needs to be spread far and wide. As I was reading the zillion of blogs Snooper visits, I found this one at Riehl World View.

TNR: There Goes That Rationalization

Unless I missed it, TNR seems to have gone dark on the Beauchamp affair, again. In any event, I watched Band of Bloggers on the History Channel tonight - they have a website here

The History Channel wants to capture what it's really like to be a soldier. We're launching a new website showcasing first person experiences in Iraq, Afghanistan and all other American wars.

and then I remembered reading this once at TNR.

Over the course of the war, we have tried to provide our readers with a sense of Iraq as it is seen by the troops. Usually, these stories have been written by journalists who have traveled to Iraq and interviewed soldiers there, but last January Beauchamp sent us a first-person vignette that seemed a powerful contribution to the genre.

There are any number of milblogs at milblogging dot com, the History Channel had any number of blog excerpts in their segment and many of the bloggers on film, in interviews and on the ground in Iraq. And the best TNR could do was the husband of a staffer with a fabulist streak?

Lastly, did they ever once link to one of the popularly read milbogs in their quest to provide ... readers with a sense of Iraq as it is seen by the troops, particularly since the Beachamp affair? Or have they given up on that mission, as well? Hmm.

Exactly so...
