Council backs 'In God We Trust'..."In God We Trust," our national motto, will adorn the wall of the Sonora City Council Chambers.
The council voted unanimously Monday night to display the motto in City Hall after putting the issue on the back burner in July.
"It recognizes our heritage of our nation," said City Manager Greg Applegate, who will be in charge of delegating the staff to complete the new project. "We will most likely make it like the gold lettering on the outside of City Hall symbolizing the Gold Rush."
