TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iranian police killed 12 armed rebels in clashes in a southeastern region on Thursday, saying they had planned to detonate bombs in the country, state television reported.

Clashes took place in the volatile border province of Sistan-Baluchestan, notorious for frequent clashes between security forces and drug smugglers.

Poor Iran. So misunderstood.
