The Pentagon Insults Hillary Clinton. Big Mistake.

Fred Kaplan has a problem...the cranial cavity has leaked and all that remains is a vacuum.

The extraordinary exchange of letters between Sen. Hillary Clinton and the undersecretary of defense for policy may turn out to be a signal event in the congressional debate over the Iraq war—and possibly in the 2008 presidential election.

The undersecretary's letter to Clinton embodies the administration's contempt for Congress, Democrats, anyone named Clinton, and—implicitly, in its tone—anyone who falls in these categories and is also a woman. It is the sort of letter that could arouse resentment among lots of senators, even Republicans—and among lots of female voters, especially those who are all too familiar with the condescension of powerful men.

No, silly "boy". Grow up. This is how it is. We, the FORMER Silent Majority are NO LONGER silent and we, no matter who we are or where we are, will NOT be "cow-towed" any longer. Period. Dot. Com. The Under Secretary's actions was the equivalent to the follwing well known voice of exasperation and frustration; "I am mad as hell and I am not going to take this anymore!" Get it?

I haven't placed the entire article here because it is not worthy. As many of us have written and preached and blogged about many times in regards to the OBVIOUS bias in the now defunct Main Stream Media, aka The Lame Stream Media, aka The LSD Press, the above article reeks of the same. Playing the gender card is disingenuous, passe and unacceptable. We aren't buying that crap anymore. Are you? Wake Up America has an excellent espose on the Lame Stream Media posted today.

Naturally, Kraplan, I mean Kaplan IGNORES the "contempt" the CONgress, the Democrats especially and several turn-coat and RINO Republicans, has for The Executive Branch and the Military.

The issue here is as follows. We VAST majority of Americans are SICK AND TIRED of the Leftinistra running amok and unchecked like they have grown accustomed to. We have sat back and merely murmured one to another "that this too shall pass." Well, now, WE are going to ENSURE that "this too shall pass" and WE ARE going to shut "them" down.

Get used to it. WE ARE WATCHING and WE OUTNUMBER the likes of Kraplan, I mean Kaplan. We don't like the "tone" of that which we have witnessed in this country, especially us old codgers. We are cranky. We are disgusted. We shall not be silenced.

Hillary The Whiner

The would-be next CIC is taking her "victory" in '08 for granted and getting up a head of steam ahead of time. It seems as though she has shot her wad too soon and will be petering out.

In a previous post here, we pointed out how Hillary was Pentagon Spanked. Now she is whining.

"I deeply resent the administration's continuing effort to impugn the patriotism of those of us who are asking hard questions," Clinton told ABC News.

I have read the letter and there isn't ANYWHERE that questions her patriotism but, since she has brought the issue to the fore, just what is she patriotic to and to whom or what does she swear her allegiance? And those alleged "hard questions" she is asking? What gives her the right to ask? Doesn't she know that there is a war going on? Doesn't she know that it is best to ask such questions in the proper venue and the NYSlimes and the Washington Compost ain't it.

Methinks she has busted something here...

Mrs. Clinton's Patriotism Problem
Hillary Clinton has joined the list of Democratic politicians who have publicly raised questions about their own patriotism. ABC News has the story:

[Mrs.] Clinton, D-N.Y., a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, has since May requested a briefing from Pentagon officials as to whether they have undertaken any serious planning for a future withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.

On Thursday she received a response from the Pentagon that she told ABC News was "outrageous and offensive."

The letter from Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Eric Edelman did not mince words. "Premature and public discussion of the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq reinforces enemy propaganda that the United States will abandon its allies," he wrote.

"I deeply resent the administration's continuing effort to impugn the patriotism of those of us who are asking hard questions," Clinton told ABC News.

Well, here is the letter; and this is the offending passage:

Premature and public discussion of the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq reinforces enemy propaganda that the United States will abandon its allies, much as we are perceived to have done in Vietnam, Lebanon, and Somalia. Such talk understandably unnerves the very same Iraqi allies we are asking to assume enormous personal risks in order to achieve compromises on national reconciliation, amending the Iraqi constitution, and other contentious issues. Fear of a precipitate U.S. withdrawal also exacerbates sectarian trends in Iraqi politics as factions become more concerned with achieving short-term tactical advantages rather than reaching the long-term agreements necessary for a stable and secure Iraq.

There's not a word in there (or anywhere else in the letter) about Mrs. Clinton's patriotism or lack thereof. Edelman only argues that it is harmful for politicians to make public demands for early withdrawal because such demands tend to embolden the enemy. He is making a claim about the wisdom and likely consequences of her actions, not about her motives.

In the early days of the Cold War, before liberal Democrats decided to bug out of Vietnam, there was an adage that "politics ends at the water's edge"--that America's political parties, whatever their differences on domestic policy, were obliged to present a united front to the outside world.

Today's liberal Democrats would invert this principle. They assert the moral right not only to undermine U.S. foreign policy but to do so with impunity--that is, they wish to be immune from criticism for their statements and actions.

We suppose it's nice work if you can get it, but we'll never understand why they think that defensively denying that they lack patriotism is a winning approach.

I understand!! They have a mental illness coupled with an inferiority complex which feeds their BDS which adds to their overwhelming desire to prove their ineffectiveness when the paddle hits the water.

I thought everyone knew that!

And The Left Whines

In a previous post, I brought to you, via Spree's, how Hillary was Pentagon Slapped. Now, she is all atwitter and has her dander up. She is even teaming up with the traitor and liar and fraud John Kerry. Now THAT is something to write home to mama about, eh?

The Atlantic Online blogger Marc Ambinder has posted a letter from the Rodham here. I disagree with his assertion that Hillary will hit a four-bagger with her retort to Eric Edelman.

The letter reveals how the Leftinistra have made a mockery of everything Americana and have shat upon our troops on a daily basis, all in the name of their sham of supporting the troops. They no more support the troops than I respect any member of the Leftinistra Caucus, be they Democrat, Republican, Independent, man, woman or morphrodite.

Hillary married a known draft dodger and an individual that loathed the military. As far as this DAV is concerned, Hillary has ZERO credibility.

It is about damn time the Pentagon tells the surrender crowd, especially Hillary Clinton, who changes her mind as soon as the "polls' tell her to, how damaging their public desire to force America's defeat is to our National Security and how it demoralizes our troops!!!

WASHINGTON - The Pentagon told Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton that her questions about how the U.S. plans to eventually withdraw from Iraq boosts enemy propaganda.

In a stinging rebuke to a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Undersecretary of Defense Eric Edelman responded to questions Clinton raised in May in which she urged the Pentagon to start planning now for the withdrawal of American forces.

A copy of Edelman's response, dated July 16, was obtained Thursday by The Associated Press.

"Premature and public discussion of the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq reinforces enemy propaganda that the United States will abandon its allies in Iraq, much as we are perceived to have done in Vietnam, Lebanon and Somalia," Edelman wrote.

He added that "such talk understandably unnerves the very same Iraqi allies we are asking to assume enormous personal risks."

Here is Undersecretary of Defense Eric Edelman Bio. I would say he is much more qualified to know what he is talking about, and shows perfectly, that Hillary, DOESN'T.

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, Hillary is gonna complain to his boss because she doesn't LIKE THE TRUTH.

Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines called Edelman's answer "at once outrageous and dangerous," and said the senator would respond to his boss, Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

Gates would do well to tell her to kiss his ass, if she cannot handle the truth, then she shouldn't be doing everything in her power to HELP THE ENEMY.

(If Gates has to show more diplomacy because of his position, well I don't, sooooo HILLARY, KISS "MY" ASS")

The "left" is atwitter with indignation.... How dare the Pentagon tell it like it is? Actually I think they are just pissed because, finally, years after they should have, our admin and our military are finally deciding to weigh in on the war in the media.

In the meantime, we have the Sunni's ending their parliament boycott, which brings Iraq one step closer to those political benchmarks that will be due in September.

In other news, our U.S Diplomats seem to be seeing progress in Iraq, which of course the left is completely ignoring, because it just doesn't fit with their defeatist attitude.
