Shari'ah Bailout Bucks

Um, this didn't come up in the talks with Congress.

AIG, the company of magicians that turned its bailout from $60 billion to $150 billion almost over night, is taking some of that money to become more Islamofriendly.

Risk Specialists Companies, Inc. (RSC), a subsidiary of AIG Commercial Insurance, is introducing what it says is a first in the U.S.: a homeowners insurance product that is compliant with key Islamic finance tenets and based on the concept of mutual insurance.

So we know the "A" in "AIG" doesn't stand for "assimilation".

The Takaful home policy is the first installment in Lexington Takaful Solutions, a series of Shari'ah-compliant (Takaful) product offerings in the U.S.

It's one thing if they want to start a local credit union but something entirely different if an American company that just got fat on taxpayer money is tailoring any part of its business to make it "Shari'ah-compliant".

Takaful is similar to mutual insurance and cooperative risk sharing but there are key differences including a clear segregation of funds owned by participants and those owned by the insurance operations entity. Investments of funds are also restricted to avoid companies involved in entertainment, alcohol, pork and other elements prohibited by Islamic law.

I'm Catholic. Is AIG going to offer a policy backed by a mutual insurance company that promises not to invest in hospitals that perform abortions? Anyone? Bueller?

Nothing does this DAV's wounded heart better than watching the utter and complete destruction, self-imposed, of the DNC. For decade upon decade, the enemies of Freedom, personal responsibility, honesty, integrity and morality have systematically tried to, and have widely succeeded, destroy this Nation which many have given the ultimate sacrifice to preserve.

Regardless of the howling, the wailing and gnashing of teeth to the contrary, this Nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. Are we perfect? Hardly. However, the Founding Fathers knew that they were also not perfect but knew who was. They strove for perfection realizing the goal would never be met. We as humans can never reach that Utopian perch of perfection. Ever.

The proponents of Utopia are willfully ignorant of what that is and means. Sir Thomas Moore wrote the book "Utopia" in 1516. The foundation of Utopia stems from the Greek "ou topas" which literally translates into "not place" which is transliterated into No Place. It is fine and dandy to dream of such a place but when reality settles in and honesty is allowed to come forward, Utopia or the Utopian Ideology cannot exist because Utopia is No Place. I would rather be someplace in reality than pretending the perfect world of No Place exists. Such is where the DNC dwells...smack dab in the middle of nowhere.

What does the Founding Fathers and Utopia have to so with the McCain-Palin Tsunami have to do with anything? Everything. The DNC leadership has the propensity to ignore issues, pass blame elsewhere, will not accept responsibility, will not admit or acknowledge their own mistakes and shortcomings. They have a tendency to ignore things long enough in the hopes that whatever it is that has a possibility to derail them will merely vanish. They have the Utopian Reality Syndrome and it is a lethal case. They live in a realm of No Place where No One is at fault because Everything and Nothing co-exist in the middle of Nowhere. No Place has No Borders and Everything and Nothing means Something, subject to wind direction.

For instance, Patriotism has now been redefined as paying taxes (video here). Joe Biden has pretty much set up the image that if you don't pay all the taxes he thinks you should pay, your Patriotism is waning and lacks what it takes to be a Patriot.

The Republican campaign for president calls the tax increases their Democratic opponents propose "painful" instead of patriotic.

Under the economic plan proposed by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, people earning more than $250,000 a year would pay more in taxes while those earning less — the vast majority of American taxpayers — would receive a tax cut.

"We want to take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people," Biden said in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America."

Noting that wealthier Americans would indeed pay more, Biden said: "It's time to be patriotic... time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut."

Seeing that it has been the federal government that had dug this whole do to taxes, taxes and taxes, how in the hell can they expect us to pay even more to further their socialist crap? Another President in another time once said that government was the problem and it still is.

Joe Biden and Barack Obama are sycophants of the socialist ignorance running amok in this country. Utopia does not exist and there are no roads that lead to No Place.

New data from the Internal Revenue Service show that income inequality continues to widen. The wealthiest 1 percent of Americans earn more than 21 percent of all income. That's a postwar record. The bottom 50 percent of all Americans, when all their wages are combined, earn just 12.8 percent of the nation's income.

Considering the magnitude of challenges ahead for America, it seems only reasonable that taxes should rise on the wealthy. Taxing the super-rich is not about class envy, as conservatives charge. It's about the nation having enough money to pay for national defense and homeland security, good schools and a crumbling infrastructure, the upcoming costs of boomers' Social Security (the current surplus has masked the true extent of the current budget deficit, but it won't for much longer) and, hopefully, affordable national health insurance. Not to mention the trillion dollars or so it will take to fix the Alternative Minimum Tax, which is now starting to hit the middle class.

A Solution To The IRS

I received this in my email from a Yankee. It makes sense so, here it goes.

Hi!

As the democrats think up more creative ways to spend tax payer dollars on new services without consideration for funding the existing tax payer funded services; and, as the long war on terror is not ending anytime soon; and, vets healthcare/disability payments are only going to increase for the foreseeable future it seems the only thing Congress can do is cut funding for non-essential services.

YEA RIGHT! We all know this isn't going to happen from either side of the aisle.

You all know I'm a staunch advocate for abolishing the federal income tax and replacing it with a consumption tax. A form of consumption tax already exists with taxes placed exclusively on cigarettes and alcohol. In fact, the children's healthcare proposal W just vetoed would've been funded with a .61 cent tax on cigarettes. According to the left, this makes me a "radical right wing repubican," yeah, whatever. The problem with changing how our government collects money from the people doesn't soley rest with Congress. It also rests with everyone who doesn't pay income taxes. Those who pay no income or payroll tax are completely disconnected from the pain of heavy income/payroll taxes. Money comes from somewhere; but, not them.

So, as a way to increase tax revenue for our government, get healthcare to the 10,000,000 children whose parents are to negligent to get for them, provide additional funding for the long war on terrror, increase additional revenue to HELP fund ALL veterans comprehensive healthcare and increase vet disability payments; all WITHOUT losing W's tax cuts; and ingratiating the public at large with the concept of a consumption based tax I thought up the following:

I. With regard to funding children's healthcare: institute a .61 cent tax on diapers and novelty items for children (i.e. stickers, headbands, jewlery...)

II. With regard to HELP fund the long war on terror: institute a 1.5% tax on phone services (land lines, faxes, cell phones, PDAs), and a 1.5% tax on cable/satellite TV services as well as satellite radio services. Congress instituted a phone tax to pay for the Spanish War. That war lasted 4 months and the tax to pay for it lasted 108 years.

III. With regard to HELP fund ALL veterans comprehensive health care and increase vet disability payments: institute a 2% tax on pre-paid phone cards and pre-paid disposable cell phones and a 0.1 cent tax on each text message.

Would appreciate your input.
