Obamination: State of the Union: Supporting Our Troops?

" We must never forget that the things we’ve struggled for, and fought for, live in the hearts of people everywhere. And we must always remember that the Americans who have borne the greatest burden in this struggle are the men and women who serve our country."

    Only those who retain their souls share our love of life & liberty. Muslims, having sold their souls to Satan, value death over life, secure in the false conviction that they will enjoy eternity in the celestial bordello of carnal bliss once the privations of the current world have ended for them.  Those are only interested in conquering the world for Satan, a.k.a. Allah. 

    Thousands have come home from Afghanistan & Iraq in boxes. Thousands more have returned missing limbs, with horrible, disabling and disfiguring injuries, both visible and invisible.  Recently, the one who would seem to honor them mocked them for objecting to his attempt to screw them out of the medical care promised to them.  Including that paragraph in the state of the union address is political exploitation at its worst, coming from one whose party does its best to prevent their votes from being counted in a timely and effective manner.

"Tonight, let us speak with one voice in reaffirming that our nation is united in support of our troops and their families.  Let us serve them as well as they have served us – by giving them the equipment they need; by providing them with the care and benefits they have earned; and by enlisting our veterans in the great task of building our own nation."

    Reagan sent the  Marines to Beirut, as sitting ducks, to save Arafat's bacon. Clinton sent them to Somalia, with insufficient force and material.  Shrub sent them to Afghanistan & Iraq in insufficient numbers, with inadequate planning and an amorphous, ill defined  objective.  Obama subjects them to suicidal rules of engagement and now he wants to slash the defense budget. 

" Our troops come from every corner of this country – they are black, white, Latino, Asian and Native American. They are Christian and Hindu, Jewish and Muslim. And, yes, we know that some of them are gay. Starting this year, no American will be forbidden from serving the country they love because of who they love.  And with that change, I call on all of our college campuses to open their doors to our military recruiters and the ROTC. It is time to leave behind the divisive battles of the past. It is time to move forward as one nation."

    That is a nifty combination of Balkanization and special interest pandering, exactly what we have learned to expect from Democrats.  Obama slithers into rationalization of the left wing's p.c. attitude and banning of ROTC from universities.  It was ok because Queers were rejected at the recruiting office. Yeah, right. They will invent a fresh pretext because they hate this nation and do not want it to be defended.  

Obamination: State of the Union: Foreign Policy?

" Just as jobs and businesses can now race across borders, so can new threats and new challenges. No single wall separates East and West; no one rival superpower is aligned against us."

    In modern times, we face threats from multiple sources, large and small. We must not drop our guard because weakness invites predators.

" And so we must defeat determined enemies wherever they are, and build coalitions that cut across lines of region and race and religion. America’s moral example must always shine for all who yearn for freedom, justice, and dignity. And because we have begun this work, tonight we can say that American leadership has been renewed and America’s standing has been restored."

    Against Hitler, Russia and America had a common enemy but when the war was over, Russia replaced Germany as an oppressor in much of Eastern Europe.  Then we had a long cold war with constant threat of nuclear attack. That threat is not entirely eliminated today.

    At present, the primary enemy is Islam. What makes any fool think that we can make coalitions with the enemy against itself?  The second sentence in the quoted paragraph is code for giving the enemy undeserved privileges which rightly belong to citizens.   When you take prisoners on the battlefield, you imprison them for the duration of the war.  There is no need to try them in court. 

    Common sense dictates that you do not reveal to the enemy your methods, materials and sources of intelligence.  Common sense dictates that you not hold the army and Cia to the same procedural standards imposed on the police & FBI. There is nothing immoral about capturing and detaining enemy combatants. There is noting immoral about capturing and detaining those who plot & perpetrate terrorist attacks.  There is no good reason why they should not be imprisoned at 'Gitmo' and there is no good reason why they should be brought here for trial in civilian courts.

    America under Obamination is not leading, it is pleading.  America under Obamination is not standing tall, it is bending over to osculate Islam's anus.

" Look to Iraq, where nearly 100,000 of our brave men and women have left with their heads held high; where American combat patrols have ended; violence has come down; and a new government has been formed. This year, our civilians will forge a lasting partnership with the Iraqi people, while we finish the job of bringing our troops out of Iraq. America’s commitment has been kept; the Iraq War is coming to an end."

    If the people of Iraq "yearn for freedom, justice, and dignity" they have a funny way of seeking those values.  They instituted a constitution that makes the Qur'an the primary source of legislation. A book which sanctifies corporal punishment including limb amputation is a fine basis for justice & dignity.

    The new government which was formed took months to organize its parliament after the recent election. Violence may be reduced, but it is not eliminated, and it will escalate as our forces evacuate the area.

    The majority of Iraq's citizens are Muslims.  The Qur'an forbids Muslims from  forming friendship, partnership or alliance with disbelievers.  Any such partnership is null and void. Only an ignorant fool or a traitor would take any stock in it. 

    America's commitment is a fool's errand, a mirage over hot desert sand.  We have not liberated Iraq from slavery to Allah; it remains Muslim. While it remains so, it remains at war against us.

    Iraq was not a war, it was one theater in a much wider war which Obamination, like Shrub, fails to recognize and fight. It is a war which will never end so long as Allah's slaves believe that he will reward them with eternity in Paradise if they wage war against us or condemn them to everlasting fire if they refuse.

" Of course, as we speak, al Qaeda and their affiliates continue to plan attacks against us.  Thanks to our intelligence and law enforcement professionals, we are disrupting plots and securing our cities and skies. And as extremists try to inspire acts of violence within our borders, we are responding with the strength of our communities, with respect for the rule of law, and with the conviction that American Muslims are a part of our American family."

    "Al-Qaeda and their affiliates"?  No! Muslims!! It is Muslims, who believe Allah's promises and threats and obey his demonic imperatives  by waging war against disbelievers. 

    You have secured nothing; you got lucky the last few times. Sooner or later there will be another successful mass casualty attack.  There is only one way to prevent that: remove the enemy fifth column from our soil and exclude it from re-entry.  If you want security, expel the Muslims. Subjecting us to embarrassing and intrusive searches is no substitute for the only  common sense measure that has a chance of success. 

    "Extremists": the big lie.  Jihad is the rule, not the exception. It is ordained for Muslims [2:216].  Waging war against Jews & Christians is a demonic obligation. [9:29]  Acts of terror are inspired by the demon's imperatives, threats & promises.  [8:39, 9:38, 9:120, 61:10]. It is what believers do; [9:111]  their reason for existing.

    If they were Americans, they would not be Muslims.  Muslims are Allah's slaves, who fight in his cause, killing others and being killed. [9:111]  Where they can not conquer by force on the battle field, they stage a demographic invasion, breeding like rats to take over by sheer numbers. Do Americans  wage war against their neighbors?  When Muslims become sufficiently numerous, they will because it is what they are commanded to do. [9:123]

 "We have also taken the fight to al Qaeda and their allies abroad. In Afghanistan, our troops have taken Taliban strongholds and trained Afghan Security Forces.  Our purpose is clear – by preventing the Taliban from reestablishing a stranglehold over the Afghan people, we will deny al Qaeda the safe-haven that served as a launching pad for 9/11."

    Most of pur casualties in Iraq & Afghanistan are caused by IEDs & shaped charges supplied by Iran.  What did Shrub do about it?  What has Obamination done about it?? "Taken the fight to their allies". Yeah, right. Show me. 

    Traines security forces... yeah, right. Security forces that shoot  their trainers by surprise.  They are Muslims, you traitor!  Why do we train and arm our enemy? 

    While you are pretending to secure Afghanistan, they are operating terrorist training camps in Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia & Lebanon.  If we had a President instead of a traitor, those camps would be smoking ruins.

"In Pakistan, al Qaeda’s leadership is under more pressure than at any point since 2001. Their leaders and operatives are being removed from the battlefield. Their safe-havens are shrinking. And we have sent a message from the Afghan border to the Arabian Peninsula to all parts of the globe: we will not relent, we will not waver, and we will defeat you."

    Every Muslim satrapy on the face of the earth is their safe-havens. Which of them is shrinking?  Which of them is depopulated?  Brig. SK. Malik told us exactly what must be done to defeat them: we must break their faith. We must cause them to recognize Allah as Satan and Moe as the devil incarnate. While our leaders refuse to take that first step, we will continue to lose this war, wasting precious blood, flesh and treasure in the process.

" American leadership can also be seen in the effort to secure the worst weapons of war. Because Republicans and Democrats approved the New START Treaty, far fewer nuclear weapons and launchers will be deployed. Because we rallied the world, nuclear materials are being locked down on every continent so they never fall into the hands of terrorists."

    The start treaty is likely to be the end. Russia can not be trusted and their adherence to the treaty can not be effectively verified.  No treaty is better than the good faith of the parties to it.  Any treaty that limits our right to develop defenses against missile attacks is an act of treason.

    Pakistan is terrorism. Pakistan has nukes.  You are a traitor. Brig. S.K. Malik wrote Pakistan's terror manual. Everyone should read pages 59 & 60 of The Quranic Concept of War.
   

" Because of a diplomatic effort to insist that Iran meet its obligations, the Iranian government now faces tougher and tighter sanctions than ever before. And on the Korean peninsula, we stand with our ally South Korea, and insist that North Korea keeps its commitment to abandon nuclear weapons."

    When someone believes that he has a divine mission to conquer the world; that he will be rewarded by eternity in the celestial bordello if he tries and punished in an eternal fire pit if he does not, no damn fool diplomatic sanction will stop him or even slow his progress.  If you voted for the traitor who spewed the feces quoted above, you are too stupid to participate in the electoral process; burn your voter registration card and hang your head in shame.

"Around the globe, we are standing with those who take responsibility – helping farmers grow more food; supporting doctors who care for the sick; and combating the corruption that can rot a society and rob people of opportunity."

    How are you combating corruption in Afghanistan & Pakistan?  How are you combating corruption in Washington D.C.?

" We saw that same desire to be free in Tunisia, where the will of the people proved more powerful than the writ of a dictator. And tonight, let us be clear: the United States of America stands with the people of Tunisia, and supports the democratic aspirations of all people."

   
    What I see is another Muslim takeover, another civil war, and another international involvement fighting on the side of slavery, Not all people have democratic aspirations. Democracy without limited government is mob rule. 

Obamination: State of the Union: Investment?

" To reduce barriers to growth and investment, I’ve ordered a review of government regulations. When we find rules that put an unnecessary burden on businesses, we will fix them. But I will not hesitate to create or enforce commonsense safeguards to protect the American people.  That’s what we’ve done in this country for more than a century. It’s why our food is safe to eat, our water is safe to drink, and our air is safe to breathe. It’s why we have speed limits and child labor laws.  It’s why last year, we put in place consumer protections against hidden fees and penalties by credit card companies, and new rules to prevent another financial crisis. And it’s why we passed reform that finally prevents the health insurance industry from exploiting patients."

    Common sense says that economic goods and services have prices, they are not free. Prices are set by the market; the balance of supply and demand, with fixed and variable costs as a lower limit.  Attempts to lower the price by fiat will result in reduced supply. Attempts to subsidize consumers who can't afford the goods will raise the price to everyone.  Third party payers are part of the problem, not part of the solution.   Reforming the insurance industry does not require 2700 pages of new legislation.  That is a power grab, not reform.

    Investment requires an economic surplus, and it involves risk. Everything that reduces real disposable income or artificially increases expenses reduces the potential for investment.  Increased taxation and inflation are counterproductive to investment. Everything that reduces consumer confidence or investor confidence or threatens economic stability and predictability decreases the potential for investment and risk taking. 

    A President who genuinely desires investment & growth would not seek to increase taxes, he would seek to make the "Bush tax cuts" permanent instead of extending them for two years.  He would not ban domestic oil exploration & production, instead he would increase leasing &  issuance of permits. He would not impose new costs on consumers by mandating purchase of health insurance.

"Now, the final step – a critical step – in winning the future is to make sure we aren’t buried under a mountain of debt.

We are living with a legacy of deficit-spending that began almost a decade ago. And in the wake of the financial crisis, some of that was necessary to keep credit flowing, save jobs, and put money in people’s pockets."

    Deficit spending did not originate by spontaneous generation nor did it begin in the last decade, it has been going on for much longer.  Money thrown down the stimulus & toxic asset toilets was wasted.  It was borrowed and must be repaid with interest.  We can not repay the principal, and when interest rates rise, we will drown in the interest burden which will rise like a flood.  Credit was not kept flowing, jobs were not saved and money was put in the wrong pockets.

"I recognize that some in this Chamber have already proposed deeper cuts, and I’m willing to eliminate whatever we can honestly afford to do without. But let’s make sure that we’re not doing it on the backs of our most vulnerable citizens.  And let’s make sure what we’re cutting is really excess weight. Cutting the deficit by gutting our investments in innovation and education is like lightening an overloaded airplane by removing its engine. It may feel like you’re flying high at first, but it won’t take long before you’ll feel the impact."

    A competent pilot does not take off with an overload. He knows the weight of his cargo & fuel, the capacity of his aircraft and the wind and weather conditions on his intended route; he calculates a margin of safety. 

"The bipartisan Fiscal Commission I created last year made this crystal clear. I don’t agree with all their proposals, but they made important progress. And their conclusion is that the only way to tackle our deficit is to cut excessive spending wherever we find it – in domestic spending, defense spending, health care spending, and spending through tax breaks and loopholes."

    "Excessive spending" can not be defined and measured. Social Security will soon be bankrupt. Obama Don't Care will drastically increase health care costs and  we are facing the threat of wars on three fronts at once. The first World War  was supposed to be the war to end all wars. We reduced our military capacity after it ended, so that the second Word War caught us unprepared.  In the age of missiles, we won't have time to make up the missing capacity.

"And if we truly care about our deficit, we simply cannot afford a permanent extension of the tax cuts for the wealthiest 2% of Americans. Before we take money away from our schools, or scholarships away from our students, we should ask millionaires to give up their tax break."

    That is class warfare at its worst. Obama is pandering to envy and greed. Investment does not come from strapped consumers who can barely meet their mortgage & utility obligations.  Investment comes from those who have more money than enough money to meet their basic needs. Punishing them with higher taxes will  result in decreased investment, the opposite of what Obama claims to want.

" So now is the time to act. Now is the time for both sides and both houses of Congress – Democrats and Republicans – to forge a principled compromise that gets the job done.  If we make the hard choices now to rein in our deficits, we can make the investments we need to win the future."

    Compromise does not get the job done. One side wants to administer poison, the other wants to administer therapy. Combining the two will not cure the patient.

" In the coming year, we will also work to rebuild people’s faith in the institution of government.  Because you deserve to know exactly how and where your tax dollars are being spent, you will be able to go to a website and get that information for the very first time in history. Because you deserve to know when your elected officials are meeting with lobbyists, I ask Congress to do what the White House has already done: put that information online.  And because the American people deserve to know that special interests aren’t larding up legislation with pet projects, both parties in Congress should know this: if a bill comes to my desk with earmarks inside, I will veto it."

    Anyone with any common sense knows that promise to be null & void. Free spending Democrats & RINOs are already conjuring up a clever replacement for earmarks.   In any case, they will find 'veto proof' or 'must pass' bills to hide them in.

Obamination: State of the Rebuilding America?

" The third step in winning the future is rebuilding America. To attract new businesses to our shores, we need the fastest, most reliable ways to move people, goods, and information – from high-speed rail to high-speed internet."

    Attract new businesses from where exactly?  Does Obamination prefer foreign owned enterprise to home grown enterprise?   Railways are too inflexible and too capital intensive to compete with trucks and passenger autos. Without federal subsidy, Amtrack would be priced out of reach.  Internet connections are being made by private enterprise, why should the government get involved?

" Our infrastructure used to be the best – but our lead has slipped. South Korean homes now have greater internet access than we do. Countries in Europe and Russia invest more in their roads and railways than we do. China is building faster trains and newer airports.  Meanwhile, when our own engineers graded our nation’s infrastructure, they gave us a “D.”

    Whenever Obama says "invest", it is code for wasteful spending; flushing trillions down the crapper and adding to the debt & deficit without any commensurate benefit.  Telephony is not a government function, neither is the internet. Private enterprise is taking care of that and making a profit. Lets leave it that way.

    While people are losing their homes to foreclosures because they can't pay their mortgages, Obamination wants to raise taxes and inflation,  putting even more strain on real disposable income.  We said "NO!" last November; he did not get the message.

" We have to do better. America is the nation that built the transcontinental railroad, brought electricity to rural communities, and constructed the interstate highway system. The jobs created by these projects didn’t just come from laying down tracks or pavement. They came from businesses that opened near a town’s new train station or the new off-ramp."

    Translation:  'If you build it, they will come."  The town where I live has high speed internet access, a minor state highway passing through, a major state highway 12 miles away and a major federal highway thirty five miles away.  It does not have any new major employers as a result. Instead, factories are closing or moving away both locally and region wide. 

" We will put more Americans to work repairing crumbling roads and bridges. We will make sure this is fully paid for, attract private investment, and pick projects based on what’s best for the economy, not politicians."

    "Shovel ready projects"; is anybody stupid and gullible enough to believe that  slogan again?  "Fully Paid for." How Gd'd stupid does this clown think we are?  $4 Trillion in debt and he pitches "fully paid for".  Profanity fails me. No execration can match that insult to our intelligence. America leads the world in one class: arrogant demagogues. 

"Within 25 years, our goal is to give 80% of Americans access to high-speed rail, which could allow you go places in half the time it takes to travel by car. For some trips, it will be faster than flying – without the pat-down. As we speak, routes in California and the Midwest are already underway."

    The current rail bed will not support the top speed of current locomotives.  How does Obama hope to upgrade the tracks and pay for it?  How can he hope to do it, increase the speed and make the tickets affordable? 

    Terrorists have not yet attacked our rail stations or trains as they have in Europe and India.  The low traffic volume makes them unattractive targets. If you increase the traffic, they will be attacked, then the security measures will be imposed, after the blood and guts of a few hundred people are splattered about.  No thanks.

"All these investments – in innovation, education, and infrastructure – will make America a better place to do business and create jobs.  But to help our companies compete, we also have to knock down barriers that stand in the way of their success."

    The barriers to success are, in order of importance: unions, taxes, regulations, uncertainty and foreign competition.  Obamination will make three of those problems worse.

"Over the years, a parade of lobbyists has rigged the tax code to benefit particular companies and industries. Those with accountants or lawyers to work the system can end up paying no taxes at all. But all the rest are hit with one of the highest corporate tax rates in the world. It makes no sense, and it has to change."

    Who was in charge of the House Ways and Means Committee while that tax code was written and amended?  What makes any sane and sober person hope that system will change?  

Islamic Revolution: Undesirable Change!

An egg farmer went to his hen house, to the nest of his best layer, and discovered that instead of an egg, the nest contained a quarter, a dime, a nickel and a few pennies. He took the change and the chicken to the vet and told his tale. The vet answered " Its not a big deal, she's just going through her change.".

    Not all change is improvement. Our elected leaders need to learn the difference between the two concepts, they are not identical.  Replacing one tyrant with another does not solve the problem of tyranny.  Replacing a monarch with an autocrat is not an improvement.  Replacing the Mubarak regime with the Muslim Brotherhood will not improve the lot of the mill run of Egyptians.   What good did replacing the Shah with an Ayatollah do for Iranians?

        Rioting peaks on Friday afternoons. That is not a coincidence; the riots result from the sermons preached at Jumah Salat. It is an Islamic movement, not a democratic movement.

    If the believers succeed in overthrowing Mubarak & Hussain, there will be consequences. The peace treaties with Israel will be abrogated and a new war will result in the near term future, likely resulting in widespread death and destruction.  The economies of Egypt & Jordan will decline, resulting in starvation for many on the lowest rungs of the economic ladder. 

    If those revolts succeed, more will follow against other regimes. The price of oil will escalate, resulting in damage to our economy. It is a matter of momentum.  If the rioters think they can get away with it; if Mubarak does not use sufficient force to quell them, then all is lost. If he cracks down, his regime will lose face. If not, he will lose his sinecure. 

    Shutting off the internet and cell phone communication is vitally necessary to interrupting the revolution's command, control, coordination & intelligence functions. To us, it appears to be an outrage. To the regime, it is a basic necessity for survival.

    To Muslims, success is a function of obedient submission to Allah in all details. They perceive failure & suffering to be the fruits of disobedience to Allah. Reimposing strict enforcement of Shari'ah is their proposed solution.  The Qur'an & sunnah condemn revolution against a just ruler who enforces Shari'ah.  To rationalize revolt, they must commit takfir, declaring the regime to be un-Islamic.  Nothing good can come of this in the short run.

Obamination: State of the Union: Illegal Immigration?

"Now, I strongly believe that we should take on, once and for all, the issue of illegal immigration. I am prepared to work with Republicans and Democrats to protect our borders, enforce our laws and address the millions of undocumented workers who are now living in the shadows. I know that debate will be difficult and take time. But tonight, let’s agree to make that effort. And let’s stop expelling talented, responsible young people who can staff our research labs, start new businesses, and further enrich this nation."

    Didn't we say NO already Didn't we repeat it loudly and clearly?  And when they tried to ram the "DREAM Act" down our throats we shouted our refusal to accept it.  Obamination will not accept a negative answer any more than Shrub did. 

    Obamination won't even complete the fence, which drug lords are using a catapault to overcome.  Mexicans are not the only wet backs. Numerous Muslim terrorists are mingling with them but Obamination does not give a damn.  He has his Secret Service to protect himself, the rest of us don't matter to him. 

    Illegal immigrants are more likely to organize gangs of street thugs and found Meth labs than to engage in scientific research or found legitimate enterprises. Masses of illegal immigrants are threatening the financial viability of our schools and hospitals. 

    We need to say it again, to repeat it with higher volume and increased profanity.  We must make the newly elected and installed majority in the House of Representatives fully aware of our absolute, principled and permanent objection to alien amnesty schemes.  Send this link to your Congressman:

Obamination: State of the Union: Education?

" Maintaining our leadership in research and technology is crucial to America’s success. But if we want to win the future – if we want innovation to produce jobs in America and not overseas – then we also have to win the race to educate our kids."

    Race?  Who are we competing against in a speed contest to educate our kids?  Are the Chinese, Russians and Arabs racing to educate our kids?  Has technological innovation created jobs or eliminated them?   Where are cell phones manufactured?   Is the rest of the world educating their children in ten years instead of twelve? 

" Think about it. Over the next ten years, nearly half of all new jobs will require education that goes beyond a high school degree. And yet, as many as a quarter of our students aren’t even finishing high school. The quality of our math and science education lags behind many other nations.  America has fallen to 9th in the proportion of young people with a college degree. And so the question is whether all of us – as citizens, and as parents – are willing to do what’s necessary to give every child a chance to succeed."

    Where did that statistic about the educational requirement of new jobs come from?  Is there any truth in it?  How does President Obama know what the new jobs are going to be or what level of education they will require? 

    About those drop outs: are they among the best & brightest or are they from the ranks of the less endowed intellectually?  Why did they drop out? Frustration with inability to learn, boredom, harassment, and bullying & violence in the schools are a few of the possible causes. Or are the drop outs lured away by such attractions as music, drugs, street gangs, hustling and just 'hanging out' with their buddies? 

    How do you propose to solve that problem?  Will you retain the disinterested with a full curriculum of movies, cartoons, concerts and video games and present them with a meaningless, worthless diploma they won't be able to read?  Or will you pay them a salary while they stay in school? 
   

" That responsibility begins not in our classrooms, but in our homes and communities. It’s family that first instills the love of learning in a child. Only parents can make sure the TV is turned off and homework gets done.  We need to teach our kids that it’s not just the winner of the Super Bowl who deserves to be celebrated, but the winner of the science fair; that success is not a function of fame or PR, but of hard work and discipline."

    The best masters of propaganda mix a little truth in with the manure. Obama fits that pattern. Nurturing curiosity and directing it into deep rather than shallow, short term channels begins at home.   What does he expect from illiterate welfare queens raising large mixed parentage families in the squalor of our inner cities?  They will yield a few gems and a great deal of gravel.

    When  Sputnik went up, the school board raised the standards but we did not learn more, we just got lower grades.  If you want more college graduates, you should look for ways to make post secondary education affordable.  $2500. per year in tax credits does not scratch the surface, it is an idiotic symbolic gesture.

    How much do our universities spend on HVAC & illumination?  What impact will government policies that skyrocket utility costs have on those expenditures?  Cap & trade won't make higher education more affordable.  Using corn to make motor fuel will increase the cost of meals in the cafeteria. 

" One last point about education. Today, there are hundreds of thousands of students excelling in our schools who are not American citizens. Some are the children of undocumented workers, who had nothing to do with the actions of their parents. They grew up as Americans and pledge allegiance to our flag, and yet live every day with the threat of deportation. Others come here from abroad to study in our colleges and universities. But as soon as they obtain advanced degrees, we send them back home to compete against us. It makes no sense."

    Case in point: Barack Obama Sr. came to America to study and returned to Kenya. Barack Jr.'s mother went to Indonesia to work. Had Obama stayed here, he would have been part of the 'brain drain'.  Had he stayed in Kenya, we would probably be far better off today.

    Several of the 'Magnificent Nineteen' obtained training in America as part of their mission of murder. Perhaps that should give Obama pause for reflection. We are training enemies, not just competitors. 

    Consider the impact of those illegal immigrants on our schools. How much money would we save if they were not here?  Why are they here?  Why have we left our southern border wide open for so long?

Obamination: State of the Union: Economics?

In this installment on the STOTU we turn to economic issues.  [Click this link for the Prepared Remarks.]

"At stake right now is not who wins the next election – after all, we just had an election. At stake is whether new jobs and industries take root in this country, or somewhere else. It’s whether the hard work and industry of our people is rewarded. It’s whether we sustain the leadership that has made America not just a place on a map, but a light to the world."

    In keeping with the manure pile concept, that paragraph contains a rich mix.  It begins with politics, with references to the immediate past and near future elections.  President Obama denied the obvious: the State of the Union Address is the first major campaign speech of the 2012 presidential contest.
   
    The establishment of new jobs and industries can not be facilitated by government action, it can only be hindered.  Creating a climate of uncertainty  is the worst possible hindrance to startups.  Business requires the ability to plan ahead, and that implies certainty, continuity & predictability.  When radical changes are threatened, the required certainty & predictability are destroyed.  Investors will keep their assets in cash or readily converted instruments in the absence of predictability. 

    Mounting deficits & debt load are counterproductive in the worst way. They discourage consumer, investor & entrepreneurial  confidence.  Hard work and industry are not rewarded by proposals to raise taxes on income.  Raising taxes reduces the funds available for investment and discretionary spending. Success is rewarded, failure is punished; hard work does not equate to success.  Most new startups fail within five years.  The success stories we hear about are the exception, not the rule.

    Escalating inflation in fuel, food, transportation, energy, insurance and medical services reduce the discretionary income available for investment and discretionary purchases.  We can't pay more and buy more without earning more.  We can't earn more without jobs.  We can't have more jobs unless people are able and willing to purchase the goods and services produced by people working in those jobs.

    We do not have any leadership to sustain; we have a misleader in the land's highest office. Obama is leading us onto the on ramp of the expressway to ruin.

"We are poised for progress. Two years after the worst recession most of us have ever known, the stock market has come roaring back. Corporate profits are up. The economy is growing again."

    The stock market remains volatile and its gains are reversible.  Which corporate profits are up and how much?  Is that a function of their recent staff reductions?  How much is the economy growing and how much of that is real growth?

 "But we have never measured progress by these yardsticks alone. We measure progress by the success of our people. By the jobs they can find and the quality of life those jobs offer. By the prospects of a small business owner who dreams of turning a good idea into a thriving enterprise. By the opportunities for a better life that we pass on to our children."

    Jobs do not offer quality of life.  Jobs yield income which enables us to purchase the goods and services we need and want.  Quality of life is a complex concept involving much more than employment and income. 

    The small business owner can not make his enterprise thrive and grow while burdened by inflation, uncertainty, foreign competition and multiplying layers of regulations and restrictions.   We can not give the next generation opportunities for a better life while pursuing policies and actions that drag down and promise to destroy our economy.

"That’s the project the American people want us to work on. Together."

    "My way or the highway" would be closer to the real meaning of that sentence.   Those who understand  the elemental laws of economics must submit in silence; go along to get along or suffer condemnation as 'obstructionists'  who 'block progress'.

" We did that in December. Thanks to the tax cuts we passed, Americans’ paychecks are a little bigger today. Every business can write off the full cost of the new investments they make this year. These steps, taken by Democrats and Republicans, will grow the economy and add to the more than one million private sector jobs created last year."

    In reality, you were dragged kicking and screaming into extending current income tax rates for two years. If your party would 'work together' the tax rate reductions made on Shrub's watch would be permanent, so that no extension would be required.  The ten year sunset clause was a 'crat demand.  Yours is the party of raising taxes.

    If the Republicans had not won a majority in the House of Representatives last November, you would have happily let the rate reductions expire. Disposable incomes would be considerably lower if you had not been forced to sign the extension into law.  No benefit was done; a great injury was staved off for two years.

    How many businesses have the cash reserves or credit necessary to invest in new investments in equipment?  How many  businesses have the sales potential to make economic use of expanded plants and equipment?   If full write offs are such a good thing, why do it for one year; why not make it permanent?

    How many new jobs were created last year? How many were destroyed?  What was the real net gain and how does that compare to a normal year?

"Many people watching tonight can probably remember a time when finding a good job meant showing up at a nearby factory or a business downtown. You didn’t always need a degree, and your competition was pretty much limited to your neighbors. If you worked hard, chances are you’d have a job for life, with a decent paycheck, good benefits, and the occasional promotion. Maybe you’d even have the pride of seeing your kids work at the same company.

That world has changed. And for many, the change has been painful.  I’ve seen it in the shuttered windows of once booming factories, and the vacant storefronts of once busy Main Streets. I’ve heard it in the frustrations of Americans who’ve seen their paychecks dwindle or their jobs disappear – proud men and women who feel like the rules have been changed in the middle of the game."

   
    The change mentioned above is the result of the golden goose being strangled by by Obama's allies: unions.  With the retirement of the Baby Boom generation, those hidden costs are threatening the solvency of the government as well as major industries.  'More for less; forever more'  does not work in the long run.   Demagogues who deny that fact are part of the problem, not part of the4 solution.

"They’re right. The rules have changed. In a single generation, revolutions in technology have transformed the way we live, work and do business. Steel mills that once needed 1,000 workers can now do the same work with 100.  Today, just about any company can set up shop, hire workers, and sell their products wherever there’s an internet connection."

    Computer software and entertainment can be delivered through an internet connection.  Real physical factors of production and consumer goods require physical delivery.  Obama's attacks on the petroleum industry are making delivery of goods more expensive, increasing inflation.

    Steel mills closed because of extortionate union contracts, burdensome government regulations and foreign competition.  Fifty years ago, economic development  was a major foreign policy objective.  It still is.  Those who want to stimulate 'economic development' in Africa & Asia seem to be incapable of comprehending the fact that competition with our own industries is an unintended consequence of their foreign policy.

"Sustaining the American Dream has never been about standing pat. It has required each generation to sacrifice, and struggle, and meet the demands of a new age."

"Now it’s our turn. We know what it takes to compete for the jobs and industries of our time. We need to out-innovate, out-educate, and out-build the rest of the world. We have to make America the best place on Earth to do business. We need to take responsibility for our deficit, and reform our government. That’s how our people will prosper.  That’s how we’ll win the future. And tonight, I’d like to talk about how we get there."

    Translation: Pay higher taxes & prices; sacrifice your lifestyle without any present or future benefit because of a power grab by greedy politicians and their cronies in the union movement.

" None of us can predict with certainty what the next big industry will be, or where the new jobs will come from. Thirty years ago, we couldn’t know that something called the Internet would lead to an economic revolution. What we can do – what America does better than anyone – is spark the creativity and imagination of our people.  We are the nation that put cars in driveways and computers in offices; the nation of Edison and the Wright brothers; of Google and Facebook. In America, innovation doesn’t just change our lives. It’s how we make a living."

   
    How many people are employed by Google and Facebook?  How many people will they and similar corporations employ?  How does that compare to the number of full time jobs lost in the steel, auto and petroleum industries?  How many of the recently unemployed have a hope of gaining jobs with Google, etc?

    You can't eat innovation, warm your house with it in winter, cool your house with it in the summer or pay your taxes with it.  And when it increases productivity so that jobs are lost, you bitch about it.  You can't have it both ways.  The internet and other innovations make it possible for us to expose your contradictory statements and litany of lies. 

"Just think of all the good jobs – from manufacturing to retail – that have come from those breakthroughs."

    Great! Computer chips designed in Israel and produced in Asia. Computers assembled in Asia.  American jobs, yeah, right.

"This is our generation’s Sputnik moment. Two years ago, I said that we needed to reach a level of research and development we haven’t seen since the height of the Space Race. In a few weeks, I will be sending a budget to Congress that helps us meet that goal.  We’ll invest in biomedical research, information technology, and especially clean energy technology – an investment that will strengthen our security, protect our planet, and create countless new jobs for our people."

    We are faced with insolvency, so the President proposes massive new spending. Its like buying a brewery for an alcoholic.  Whenever Obama says "invest" it really means more taxes, more debt, more deficit and more inflation. 

    "Clean energy" is the biggest boondoggle.  Every day we consume vast quantities of liquid fuel which contains 160,000 btu per gallon.  It is not possible to replace that fuel without matching its energy content and there is no alternative fuel that matches its energy density.  The scope and scale of the problem are incomprehensible. 

    There is no alternative energy source.  No matter what you burn, you consume oxygen and generate products of combustion.  The problems of industrial scale production & distribution  should be  sufficient to warn off any thinking person. 

    Electricity is not an alternative energy source. Most of it is produced by burning oil, gas or coal.  We are paying more for food and riots are breaking out in other parts of the world as a predictable consequence of diverting corn from food to motor fuel production. 

    There is no replacement for oil, and if there was, reducing our dependence of Arabian oil would not increase our security unless we were willing to confront Islam, which no current politician is willing to do.  We need leadership with brains, spines & testicles; those are not functions of reduced oil consumption.

    Anthropomorphic global climate change  is a big lie, as an increasing number of people are discovering.  Countless can be a very small number such as zero, it does not need to be a large number. New jobs?  Yeah, right.   Pedicab operators & bike couriers? 

"With more research and incentives, we can break our dependence on oil with biofuels, and become the first country to have 1 million electric vehicles on the road by 2015."

    Assuming 30mpg., the energy consumption is about 5,333 btu/mile. One KWH is about 3412.1416 BTUH. That is about 1.6 KWH per mile.  Assume that each of those million electric vhicles travels 10,000 miles per year.  Where are those 1.2 billion KWH coming from?  Solar cells & windmills, yeah, right.

" We need to get behind this innovation. And to help pay for it, I’m asking Congress to eliminate the billions in taxpayer dollars we currently give to oil companies. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but they’re doing just fine on their own. So instead of subsidizing yesterday’s energy, let’s invest in tomorrow’s."

    Where is Obama letting oil companies explore for and produce oil?  Where is he permitting the construction of refineries?  Why are we dependent on oil produced in areas ruled by people inimical to our interests?  Considering the current price of $3.20 per gallon, how will Obama's scheme affect our pocket books?   Where was your head when you voted for him??

" Now, clean energy breakthroughs will only translate into clean energy jobs if businesses know there will be a market for what they’re selling. So tonight, I challenge you to join me in setting a new goal: by 2035, 80% of America’s electricity will come from clean energy sources. Some folks want wind and solar. Others want nuclear, clean coal, and natural gas. To meet this goal, we will need them all – and I urge Democrats and Republicans to work together to make it happen."

    Translation: drastic inflation: increased prices for electricity and motor fuel, further reductions in our lifestyles, fewer jobs and another great depression.  Natural gas is a byproduct of the oil production process.  Get a clue, for Chrissake!!  Clean coal?? Obama bragged that he would destroy the coal industry.  Nuclear power?  Litigation, regulations, insurance costs and union rates have made it impossible to build new reactors.

    You voted for change; you are getting it. Are you satisfied yet?

Obamination: State of the Union: Bipartisan Compromise?

State of the Union: Prepared Remarks

    Because of the length and drek density of the Obamination, I will spread my disrespectful discourse over several blog posts. The first eight paragraphs of the prepared remarks allude to and tangentially rehash the blood tinged partisan acrimony that has hung like a polluted haze in the atmosphere in the weeks following the 'Tucson Massacre.  I take that as my starting point.

"It’s no secret that those of us here tonight have had our differences over the last two years. The debates have been contentious; we have fought fiercely for our beliefs. And that’s a good thing. That’s what a robust democracy demands. That’s what helps set us apart as a nation."

   
    The last two years?  As if only President Obama has had opposition, and contention is monopolar.  Does anyone remember what the nattering nabobs of negativism said about Nixon, Goldwater, Reagan, Bush Clinton & Shrub?  Assertions of warmongering extremism cost Goldwater his hope of election.  Does anyone remember the vitreol spewed at the judicial nominees of Reagan,  Bush & Shrub?  

    A book and movie about assassinating Shrub and an on the air rant about marching on Congressman Henry Hyde's home and stoning him to death stand out as examples of partisan hate speech.  But now they accuse those who voice principled criticism of Obama's policies & actions of inspiring the detestable act of a madman whose political leanings are closer to those of Obama than of his critics.  Indeed, a crisis is a terrible thing to waste, and Obamination won't let one pass unexploited.

    A fight for beliefs?  Yeah, right.  The mission of political parties is to obtain, retain and expand political power, which they translate into cash flow for themselves and their allies.

    Beliefs?  What beliefs?? Candidates are packaged, branded, promoted & marketed, usually without making clear declarations of political principles. The concept of pandering to the left in the primaries & caucuses before "moving to the center" in the general election and following a defeat in the mid term elections should be sufficient to disabuse any thinking mind of the 'fighting for our beliefs'  shibboleth. 

"Now, by itself, this simple recognition won’t usher in a new era of cooperation. What comes of this moment is up to us. What comes of this moment will be determined not by whether we can sit together tonight, but whether we can work together tomorrow."

    Cooperation = bipartisanship = Republicans surrender their 'principles' and "go along to get along".  Mixed seating is a matter of symbolism: symbolic of a fallacy.  When one side wants more of the poison that made the nation ill and the other wants a cure, there is no  practical compromise.  If a husband wants to use hydrochloric acid to clear a drain and his wife wants to use sodium  hydroxide, mixing the two may poison them both by releasing chlorine.  Some things should not be compromised.  "Work together" is another expression of the same dishonest concept. 

"I believe we can. I believe we must. That’s what the people who sent us here expect of us. With their votes, they’ve determined that governing will now be a shared responsibility between parties. New laws will only pass with support from Democrats and Republicans. We will move forward together, or not at all – for the challenges we face are bigger than party, and bigger than politics. "

    Expectations?  Sixty percent of the electorate cast their votes for congressional candidates who they believed were most likely to assist in the repeal of Obama Don't Care.  Governing responsibly involves simple and direct solutions, not 2700 pages of convoluted bafflegab. 

    We face the threat of a greater depression; the total ruination of the economy.  We face the threat of national insolvency; the prospect of eroded faith & credit. We face the threat of rationing of medical tests & treatments;' of bureaucrats making  arbitrary life or death decisions. We face increased costs and prices that will make medical goods and services beyond the reach of a growing mass of citizens.  We face the prospect of more businesses closing as insurance premiums become unbearable.

    New laws should only pass on their merits, not based on which party proposes or opposes them. Content, substance & effects, including unanticipated consequences and diseconomies must be considered above partisan advantage through emotive nomenclature & propaganda.

Unfairness Doctrine

Renewed calls for restoration of the  'fairness doctrine'  & the LibTard chorus chanting the mantra of   'civility' followed the  recent  Arizona Massacre as flowers follow a spring rain.   Blood is the natural fertilizer of  idiotic demands for tyranny.

    The heinous act was not solicited, prompted or suggested by 'extremists' shouting 'hate filled' rants on talk radio. It was not related to the recent political campaign season.  It was the independent act  of a lone gunman acting out his own fantasy.  Local law enforcement had several opportunities to prevent the slaughter. Now they cover their incompetence & misfeasance by falsely assigning blame to others who had nothing to do with the affair.

    Remember Shrub's 'new tone in Washington' ?  It was a single flute drowned out by dozens of braying jackasses.  'Chimpy McBush', 'Bush lied and thousands died'  etc.  There were a book and a movie about assassinating Shrub, both celebrated by the left.  Then there was Dan Rather's infamous attack with spurious documents. 

    Does anyone remember a famous actor ranting about wanting to stone Congressman Henry Hyde to death?  Where was the outpouring of outrage over that blood thirsty rant?   There was note, because this issue is all one sided. 

    Hannity, Levin & Limbaugh spent several days replaying sound bytes of outrageous statements by president Obama and his cronies.  Those sound bytes fall on deaf ears. 
   
    The LibTards are determined to squelch opposition voices.  They don't want tone control or volume control, they want content control.  Their demand is 180° out of phase with the First Amendment.  Political speech must be protected speech because representative government requires the adversary process of debate.

    If they can't get their way in the legislature or the courts, they will turn to regulation by fiat.  Thus we have the FCC's recent 'net neutrality' ruling.  Ostensibly about preventing internet service providers from throttling competitor's content, it is really about content control and raising revenue.  Incrementally, little by little, they will  expand the rules to regulate content.  At the same time they will impose fees to 'cover the cost' of enforcing the rules. 

Reply to Ryan on What's Wrong With Islam/Muslims?

 The true nature of Islam: a continuing criminal enterprise which propagates perpetual warfare for profit while camouflaged by a  false mantle of religion, is mired in a deep and extensive swamp of denial. I repeatedly attack this issue because it is necessary to drain the swamp one drop at a time.

What's Wrong With Islam/Muslims?  at Islamophobia: Exposing Malicious Malarkey received a visit from Ryan, who left a comment which merits a  better reply  than a simple comment.  Likening my analysis to dog excrement, he  made three points. [Typographical errors original.]

1.) Jihad means "struggle". That is the literal arabic interpretation of the word. What is more, there have bbeen cases of jihad being conducted AGAINST OTHER MUSLIMS. Not to mentioon that there are muslim scholars who disagree with the definition provided in reliance of a traveller (which is one of many jurisprudence manuals). And there are four types of jihad, and jihad follows set rules (don't kill civillians, don't attack civillian targets).

2.) You claim that 60:1 is clear proof muslims aren't allowed to befriend non musims. verses 60:8 and 60:9 disagree. There are even verses in the quran which state that jews and christians can go to heaven.

3.) You make the mistake of assuming that all islamic manuals agree on what defines jihad. The truth is a hell of lot more complex, and there are scholars who have had differing interpetations. Just because a few guys have that interpreation odesn't mean all scholars do.

 

1. When words are translated into actions, the actions give us the clearest possible indication of their meaning.  Turn to page 385 of Guillaume's translation of The Life of Muhammad, where the story of  Amr b.al-Jamuh   is retold. "He came to the apostle and told him that his sons wanted to keep him back and prevent his joining the army, 'Yet by God, I hope to tread the heavenly garden despite my lameness.' The apostle said, 'God has excused you, and Jihad is not incumbent on you;' and to his sons he said, 'You need not prevent him; perhaps God will favour him with martyrdom,' so he went along with him and was killed at Uhud." A parallel story is found in Sahih Bukhari 4.52.84, explaining 4:95, which exempts the lame and blind.
   There are 178 instances of "raid" in the Life of Muhammad, and 27 instances of "conquest".
2. A search for "take not" in the Noble Qur'an [Hilali & Khan] returns 7 Surahs; these are the ayat prohibiting positive relations with Kuffar: 3:118, 4: 89, 144, 5: 51, 57, 9:23, 60: 1, 13.  Moe curses us in 2:161 & 9:30.  Sahih Muslim 6665 & 6666 say that Allah will take Muslims out of the fire, replacing them with Jews and Christians. 
3. Jihad is covered in Ch 30 of Al-Risala, Maliki Fiqh and Al-Hedaya, Vol II, Book IX, Hanifi Fiqh.  Which of them contradicts Reliance significantly?     The meaning of jihad is not dependent on any single scholar. It becomes clear when we perceive the congruent pattern formed by Moe's recitation & sunnah. 

    Surah Al-Anfal treats of perpetual wars of aggression against pagans, the termination of which is conditioned on the cessation of resistance and a global monopoly for Islam.  (8:39:1) And fight them waqātilūhum

    Surah At-Taubah treats of perpetual wars of aggression against 'people of the book', the termination of which is conditioned on subjugation and extortion.

Narrated Maimun ibn Siyah that he asked Anas bin Malik, "O Abu Hamza! What makes the life and property of a person sacred?" He replied, "Whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah', faces our Qibla during the prayers, prays like us and eats our slaughtered animal, then he is a Muslim, and has got the same rights and obligations as other Muslims have."

    The Qur'an contains two parallel fight-until loops and the hadith has a similar loop reflecting them.  Is that mere coincidence?  Get a God blessed clue!

May peace be on you. I praise Allah who is one and except whom there is nobody else to be worshipped.

I do not intend to wage war against you till you receive my written reason for it. It is better for you, either to accept Islam or agree to pay Jiziya and consent to remain obedient to Allah, His prophet and his messengers. My messengers deserve honour. Treat them with respect. Whatever pleases my messengers, will also please me.

These people have been informed of the orders about Jiziya. If you desire that there should be peace and security in the world, obey Allah and His Prophet. Thereafter none in Arabia and Ajam (Iran) shall dare cast an evil eye on you. But the rights of Allah and His Prophet can at no time be waived.

International Judge the Qur'an Day: Update

A Google search for "International Judge the Qur'an Day" now returns about 27,000 records and they are not all to my blog posts.  The event is now the subject of some media coverage. 

    The deleted Facebook page has been  replaced; the new page has 333 supporters.  Images of the Qur'an and related texts have been posted in evidence, 31 to date.  Two of its five discussion threads have current activity.

Memorial Disservice

The video of President Barack Hussein Obama's address to the memorial in Tucson at the White House Blog, as is the transcript.   As usual, I will expose the lowlights.

" It raises a question of what, beyond prayers and expressions of concern, is required of us going forward.  How can we honor the fallen?  How can we be true to their memory?"

    The honest answer to that question is to press on with our lives, as the victims and heroes would be doing if the event had not occurred.  But the question is superfluous, propounded for partisan political purposes.  Its purpose is to lay the groundwork for renewed attacks upon the first and second amendments.

"Already we’ve seen a national conversation commence, not only about the motivations behind these killings, but about everything from the merits of gun safety laws to the adequacy of our mental health system. "

    The mainstream of the 'national conversation' flows from the mouths of politicians & pundits, falsely laying blame for the massacre at the tongues of those who oppose President Obama's Socialist agenda.  Despite the mounting evidence that the shooter has used drugs, aroused fear among his classmates & teachers and was mentally ill, President Obama's chorus assigns blame to Palin & Limbaugh, who had nothing to do with the event.

Rush Limbaugh had an excellent rant about the hypocrisy of the left's demand for 'civility'.

"We should be willing to challenge old assumptions in order to lessen the prospects of such violence in the future."

    Ever so subtle yet so obvious!  President Obama hinted at a renewed demand to disarm the citizenry, rendering us defenseless.  Does anyone else remember the old comic strip "There Oughta Be a Law?

"But what we cannot do is use this tragedy as one more occasion to turn on each other."

    Perish the thought!  That is exactly what they have done, shrill & loudly, starting with Krugman.

"If this tragedy prompts reflection and debate -- as it should -- let’s make sure it’s worthy of those we have lost.  (Applause.)  Let’s make sure it’s not on the usual plane of politics and point-scoring and pettiness that drifts away in the next news cycle."

    That is sheer hypocrisy, so obvious as to require no elaboration.

"And if, as has been discussed in recent days, their death helps usher in more civility in our public discourse, let us remember it is not because a simple lack of civility caused this tragedy -- it did not -- but rather because only a more civil and honest public discourse can help us face up to the challenges of our nation in a way that would make them proud. "

   
    What was it Nancy Pelosi promised us about four years back?  What did she deliver?  Open, honest, accountable & efficient government.  Yeah, right.  And Obama promised hope & change.  How well is that working out for you?   "You can keep your doctor."  "You can keep your insurance policy." "It won't raise the deficit." "No death panels."  Honest & civil! I really need to use profanity at this point.  Those are not white lies, they are not little brown lies; they are the stuff that makes your shoe stink even after you scrape it off the sole.

"I want to live up to her expectations.  (Applause.)  I want our democracy to be as good as Christina imagined it.  I want America to be as good as she imagined it.  (Applause.)  All of us -– we should do everything we can to make sure this country lives up to our children’s expectations.  (Applause.)"

    Even coming from an honest statesman, those statements would be inappropriate at a memorial service for murder victims.  They are the stuff of a campaign speech, not a memorial.  As it is, they come from the mouth of a lying, conniving traitor, and the hypocrisy disgusts me intensely.

    President Obama and his cronies seek to exploit a mass murder at once to condemn and silence his critics.  There is nothing so low that they will not limbo dance beneath it.  What appears to be a limbo dance is really a slithering sidewinder.     We made a horrific blunder in '08. We have a opportunity to correct it in '12.  We must take full advantage of that chance.

Blasphemy in Islam

In keeping with my habit of exposing & skewering liars, I quote the first paragraph of  Blasphemy and the Islamic way…..  from Islamic Blog.

"Due to some recent events in Pakistan, the issue of blasphemy is again in the news. It is generally held that Islam prescribes capital punishment for those who commit blasphemy; that is, using abusive language against the Prophet of Islam. But this is quite untrue. According to Islam, blasphemy is simply a misuse of freedom and not a cognisable offence; the blasphemer is not liable to incur legal punishment. This kind of law has no basis in Islamic scriptures. If someone uses abusive language against the Prophet, Muslims must take it as a case of misunderstanding, and then try to remove this misunderstanding. They are required to do so by engaging in discussion or by providing the blasphemer with Islamic literature that gives the true image of the Prophet of Islam."

    This strange expression is used in the law of India & Pakistan, I presume that it originated in the colonial period.  It refers to a violation of law which the police can recognize, take notice of;  arrest & charge the perpetrator for.

    The author says that it is not; what does Shari'ah say?  Let us turn first to Reliance of the Traveller, Book o.

penalty:

o8.1 When a person who has reached puberty and is sane voluntarily apostatizes from Islam, he deserves to be killed.

o8.2 In such a case, it is obligatory for the caliph (A: or his representive) to ask him to repent and return to Islam. If he does, it is accepted from him, but if he refuses, he is immediately killed.

What treatment does an apostate deserve? What treatment does he receive if he does not recant?

4:89. They wish that you reject Faith, as they have rejected (Faith), and thus that you all become equal (like one another). So take not Auliyâ' (protectors or friends) from them, till they emigrate in the Way of Allâh (to Muhammad ). But if they turn back (from Islâm), take (hold) of them and kill them wherever you find them, and take neither Auliyâ' (protectors or friends) nor helpers from them.

Would you like that I kill him?" The Prophet said, "Yes," Muhammad bin Maslama said, "Then allow me to say a (false) thing (i.e. to deceive Kab). "The Prophet said, "You may say it."[...]

Sahih Bukhari  Volume 3, Book 48, Number 829:

[...] Allah's Apostle said, 'Who will support me to punish that person ('Abdullah bin Ubai bin Salul) who has hurt me by slandering the reputation of my family? By Allah, I know nothing about my family but good, and they have accused a person about whom I know nothing except good, and he never entered my house except in my company.' 

Sad bin Mu'adh got up and said, 'O Allah's Apostle! by Allah, I will relieve you from him. If that man is from the tribe of the Aus, then we will chop his head off, and if he is from our brothers, the Khazraj, then order us, and we will fulfill your order.'[...]

Malik's Muwatta Book 36, Number 36.18.15: 

Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "If someone changes his deen - strike his neck!"

The meaning of the statement of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in our opinion and Allah knows best, is that "if someone changes his deen, strike his neck!" refers to those who leave Islam for other than it - like the heretics and their like, about whom it is known. They are killed without being called to tawba because their tawba is not recognised. They were hiding their kufr and publishing their Islam, so I do not think that one calls such people to tawba, and one does not accept their word. As for the one who goes out of Islam to something else and divulges it, one calls him to tawba. If he does not turn in tawba, he is killed. [...]

    At the end of the article, I found attribution  to the Times of India. The source us under the byline of Maulana Wahiduddin Khan. From Wikipedia, I learn that the author is "a noted Islamic scholar^[1]" .   An 86 year old scholar who has written ten books should know his subject, but what he wrote in the article quoted above is not congruent with authentic source texts.

    Fake it 'till you make it does not work when authentic source texts can be referenced. Islam can not be reformed without eliminating the Qur'an & hadith, without which it would cease to be Islam.
