This is what makes Czarina’s statement about the commutation of Libby’s sentence the real joke of the day. This woman, and I use that term loosely, is no better than Fitzgerald and Armitage. Knowing the truth and doing nothing of it equates to needing to be euthanized. They should all check in immediately to wherever Kavorkian is hanging out so he can assist them with the relieving themselves of all this BDS hatred. It would the best they could do for this country. WASHINGTON — An indictment charging Rep. William Jefferson, D-La., in a long-running bribery investigation is being announced Monday, federal officials said.

The indictment is being handed up in U.S. District Court in Alexandria. A press conference was being organized for late Monday in Washington to discuss the case.

A Justice Department official familiar with the case said the indictment outlining the evidence against Jefferson is more than an inch thick and charges the congressman with crimes that could keep him in prison for up to 200 years. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the case.

Almost two years ago, in August 2005, investigators raided Jefferson’s home in Louisiana and found $90,000 in cash stuffed into a box in his freezer.

Jefferson, 63, whose Louisiana district includes New Orleans, has said little about the case publicly but has maintained his innocence. He was re-elected last year despite the looming investigation.

Jefferson, in Louisiana on Monday, could not immediately be reached for comment.

Two of Jefferson’s associates have already struck plea bargains with prosecutors and have been sentenced.

Brett Pfeffer, a former congressional aide, admitted soliciting bribes on Jefferson’s behalf and was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Another Jefferson associate, Louisville, Ky., telecommunications executive Vernon Jackson, pleaded guilty to paying between $400,000 and $1 million in bribes to Jefferson in exchange for his assistance securing business deals in Nigeria and other African nations. Jackson was sentenced to more than seven years in prison.

Both Pfeffer and Jackson agreed to cooperate in the case against Jefferson in exchanges for their pleas.

The impact of the case has stretched across continents and even roiled presidential politics in Nigeria. According to court records, Jefferson told associates that he needed cash to pay bribes to the country’s vice president, Atiku Abubakar.

Abubakar denied the allegations, which figured prominently in that country’s presidential elections in April. Abubakar ran for the presidency and finished third.

Court records indicate that Jefferson was videotape taking a $100,000 cash bribe from an FBI informant. Most of that money later turned up in a freezer in Jefferson’s home.

In May 2006, the FBI raided Jefferson’s congressional office, the first such raid on a sitting congressman’s Capitol office. That move sparked a constitutional debate over whether the executive branch stepped over its boundary.

The legality of the raid is still being argued on appeal. House leaders objected to the search saying it was an unconstitutional intrusion on the lawmaking process. The FBI said the raid was necessary because Jefferson and his legal team had failed to respond to requests for documents.

ABC News’ Jason Ryan Reports: Congressman William Jefferson, D-La., has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Alexandria.

The 16 count indictment has just been returned.

The charges include racketeering, solicitation of bribes, honest services wire fraud, money laundering, obstruction of justice, violating the foreign corrupt practices act, and conspiracy. The indictment relates to a bribery scheme for him and his family and his bribing a Nigerian official.

The indictment is 94 pages. If convicted on all charges Jefferson would be sentenced to 235 years in prison.

Jefferson has been under investigation for some time for accepting bribes in relation to help steer contracts to businesses in Nigeria.

FBI agents searched his home and congressional offices last year. FBI agents recovered $90,000 in cash from his home which was stored in a coffee can in his freezer.

I don’t get it. I read an article that seems to have that DNC Double Standard thing going. At one point the article condemns Hillary and her “better(?) half” for consorting with known thugs and at the same time praising their politics. Huh? It seems that their politics drives their relationships with known thugs…doesn’t it?

Sometimes I forget why the Clintons disturb me. Then they offer a reminder. Case in point are reports that one of Hillary Clinton’s most pampered donors made big bucks off scams against the elderly.

The Clintons disturb her.

One recalls the dark days of the Lewinsky scandal, when people like me worked their darndest to drag Bill over the finish line of his last four years. We were not about to let the Republican leadership use a sex scandal as a pretense to overturn an election.

Froma Harrop disturbs me! A “pretense”? I guess immorality and adultery are OK to Froma?

But then what does Clinton do? In his last hours on the job he pardons Marc Rich, a fugitive moneybags charged with more than 50 counts of fraud, racketeering and tax evasion. This was done unblushingly and without concern for how it might reflect on Hillary, whose political career was just taking off.

Poor Hillary? Hillary was the driving force there, Froma. Wake up!

So should one regret having saved Bill Clinton’s hide? Not one bit. We did it for the democracy. But let it be said that the sight of the pair finally vacating the White House provided much relief. As Hillary now runs for president and takes money tied to major-league creeps, that old sick feeling starts coming back.

Then why the support?

Come on, Hillary, show a little more class.

And there we have it. As long as the socialist and known supporter of charlatanism doesn’t take money from thugs and scam artists and shows a little class, all is well. God save us from ourselves.

Want a little insight into the way the Clinton mind works? Watch how Hillary defends her use of private jets paid for by a guy who bilked millions of dollars out of senior citizens:

”Whatever I’ve done, I complied with Senate rules at the time. That’s the way every senator operates,” the Democratic presidential contender said in an interview with The Associated Press during a campaign stop in Las Vegas.

Clinton’s travel, along with and consulting fees paid to her husband, the former president, have come to light recently in a lawsuit against Vinod Gupta, a Clinton contributor and chief executive of the data company, InfoUSA Inc.

The lawsuit by company shareholders accuses Gupta of excessively spending millions of dollars, including $900,000 worth of travel on the Clintons.

Sen. Clinton, who complained about corporate America’s largesse and skyrocketing executive pay during campaign events Wednesday, said she did not believe her message was undermined by her acceptance of the private flights. In line with Senate rules then in effect, Clinton’s campaign has said she reimbursed Gupta at the cost of a first-class flight, typically a significant discount off the expense of a private jet.

Hillary the lawyer (and Bill too) always move the discussion to legal ethics (what was technically legal - often what I can get away with) rather than morality. She doesn’t discuss whether it was morally right to take money from a sleezeball who stole from the elderly or whether it seems hypocritical to sound off about the “haves and the have nots” when she is traveling via private jet at regular airfare rates. Nope, she says “I followed the rules at the time.” And she throws in an “everybody does it” just in case she needs further cover. Sounds like a teeenager making excuses.

Just like Mr. Edwards Hillary has no shame in promoting a steal from the rich and give to the poor populist strategy as long as she gets to keep her money and lifestyle. Nice work if you can get it I guess.

The DNC tenet of Double Standard as a norm should really come to no surprise to anyone, should it? I get a snicker-snicker/snort-snort every time I visit Hillary’s blog. Her blind bats follow her scent from place to place, being the trolls and uninformed that they are. Hillary can talk it up very well but being referred to as a compassionate and wonderful woman is an insult to every compassionate person and to every woman…save Rosie the Fruit Loop. Alas! As a friend of mine has said on another blog, I have digressed before even getting started.

Where to begin? There are so many starting places. I am referring to the title of this particular post, Senator Wire-Tap. I have placed this post in the category of “Character” because Hillary has none. She shrills herself into prominence. She scares people into helping her. She has a long history of utilizing unsavory characters, just like herself, to further her agenda of complete control over all around her. Here is a place where one can spend some time learning about a man that Hillary has hired to help her “get ahead” of others. Be prepared to spend some time there but don’t let Hillary know…if you know what I mean.

Hillary’s Shadow Team is a collection of thugs, creeps and folks you steer clear of when eye contact is made. “When covering Clinton scandals, journalists in the know feared for their safety. The most widely publicized case of journalist-bashing on the Clinton beat involved L.J. Davis, a contributing editor of Harper’s magazine. New Republic Editor Andrew Sullivan dispatched Davis to Little Rock, Ark., to look into the Whitewater scandal. Davis produced a brilliant report titled, “The Name of the Rose.”” The gory details are in the wires and the internet which Hillary has been known to express great fear of. I wonder why that would be? Could it be that people like me are scared to death or gravely concerned to have such a dangerous person as Hillary as POTUS?

I wonder where Hillary’s War Room is located at this moment? Who is on her Shadow Team and is she STILL using illegal wire-taps to get ahead of her enemies? You know. Those pesky fellow Democrats with aspirations to be the next POTUS. Hillary doesn’t know what the term “illegal” means. GWB has authorized LEGAL wire-taps but Hillary and company call them illegal. Typical Democrat gobbledygook…legal is illegal and illegal is legal…it all depends on ones’ point of view.
