This Blog Is Moving

Greetings. After this weekend, this Take Our Country Back Blog will be moving to the new web site. Too many conservatives are getting zapped by the intolerant dweebs of the Obama Goons and seeing that this editing platform is a free site, Blogger can do pretty much what it feels like doing. Hence, I now have a paid site and will be migrating the last 1400+ posts shortly.

So, one day, you just may click this page somewhere and it will show up as "private". It has been fun but the intolerant Czarbie Goon Squads are brain dead idiots. They can come play at the new site which I OWN outright.

Using The Lives Of Our Troops For Amnesty?

Now here is a real loser.

The pro-amnesty amendment has been tied to the defense department authorization bill by Dick Durbin (D-Illinois). Ira Mehlman, of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, says it is basically a re-introduction of the "Dream Act."

"Really what it is, is an amnesty for anybody who came to the United States under the age of sixteen, [and] has attended school in the United States," says Melham. "The proponents of it think that this is the most sympathetic group of illegal aliens and that they stand the best chance of getting this sort of bill through." Read More:

Now, how is that helping the troops?

In other news, we find that Hillary has been bought and paid for by the treasonous MoveOners.
The Senate -- without Sen. Hillary Clinton’s support -- on Thursday passed a Republican-sponsored amendment condemning “personal attacks on the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces.” Sen. Clinton, in refusing to condemn MoveOn.org, appears to be trying to mollify the group that has criticized her for her earlier cautious, "centrist" stance on the Iraq war... Read More
Makes ya wonder, eh?

Several items of interest will give the Leftinistra a case of the chapped-ass: success is one of them. The other on the top of the list is the wind blowing in the wrong direction:
Even though Gen. David Petreaus was the target of attacks by liberal groups and congressional Democrats, the American public now views him -- and his recommendations for making continued progress in Iraq -- more favorably than before he testified before Congress, according to a number of recent polls... What will they do now? Discredit a National hero? Yes, indeed.

Here are some more little diddies for the mentally challenged morons we have living amongst us.

The Normalization Of Terror

The Behind The Times Folks At Salon

I am beginning to surmise that Salon needs to rename themselves to Saloon and they can abbreviate the new name to 'Loon.

The headline of this particular article, to folks that follow current events; for those at 'Loon, that would be for the last two or three months in the year of our Lord (that will drive 'em loony), 2007, is all too telling.

Behold: The waning power of the War Myth

If one was an apologist or a member of the Leftinistra Moonbat Fruit Loop Brigade or a member of Code Pinko Wacko or a member of ANSWER or an individual with the lethal case of Ostrich Syndrome, the title of the piece is correct. But, for the wrong reasons.

I will only use the first paragraph because the rest can be better utilized as recycled toilet paper.

Aug. 28, 2007 | Bush's entire presidency has been propped up by the War Myth. By aggressively presenting himself as a war leader, by wrapping himself in the sacred robes of patriotism, the military and national honor, Bush has taken refuge in the holy of holies, the ultimate sanctuary in American life. He has made criticism of his policies tantamount to criticism of the one institution in American life that is untouchable: the military. He uses the almost 4,000 new crosses in military cemeteries as a talisman against his opponents -- notwithstanding the fact that he is wholly responsible for those crosses.

Let us dissect this ridiculous and poor excuse of "journalism", shall we? Gary Kamiya, strangely reminiscent of a moonbat from another posting as by kmria, has issues with Patriotism and the ability to recognize truth. It surely must be sad to be this individual with such hatred of the President of The United States.

Bush's entire presidency has been propped up by the War Myth.

War Myth? What War Myth? Let me see if I got this "right", as in "correct". We were attacked on 91101. Correct? OBL and his Band of Murdering Thugs, in the name of "allah", stole private property (aircraft owned and operated by private businesses), effectively kidnapped the passengers on board and flew the stolen aircraft into buildings, intentionally, killing themselves and all on board. Another stolen aircraft augured into the ground killing all on board as well. The Merry Band of Murderous Thugs (terrorists), in the name of their god, murdered thousands of innocents. But, this seems to be OK with this...individual. I cannot in good conscience, classify this individual as a man because he has not the markings of one.

I might add that to a terrorist, there are no innocents. Behold, the "metrics" of the Jihadist is as follows:
1. If I kill you, I win.
2. If you kill me, I am a martyr. I win big.
3. There are no innocents in the land of my enemy. If I kill infants, the elderly, pregnant women, even on purpose, I win.
4. When my enemy kills innocent civilians in error, even his own allies condemn him for brutality. I win.
5. When my enemy kills innocent civilians that I purposefully put in harms way, even his own allies condemn him for brutality. I win.

This telling principle is lost on every single moonbat on the face of God's Green Earth.

The OBL Clan, declared war on the United States many moons ago. And, that is a fact. Anyone which denies that fact has zero to no intelligence and has lived an isolated existence. The United States did as close to nothing about it. Oh, we tossed a few million dollars worth of explosive ordinance into some rudimentary targets and accomplished the same as if doing nothing so, what was the point? Showmanship? An attempt to show someone that missiles do fly?

I was always told and instructed that wasting ammunition like that was a Cardinal Sin.

War Myth? Hasn't any of the "contributing idiots" at 'Loon ever read the Iraq Resolution? Knowing that the cowards of 'Loon will not go there to verify, I, Snooper, will again reproduce the Iraq Resolution here. Behold...please take note of KEY dates...

Whereas in 1990 in response to Iraq's war of aggression against and illegal occupation of Kuwait, the United States forged a coalition of nations to liberate Kuwait and its people in order to defend the national security of the United States and enforce United Nations Security Council resolutions relating to Iraq;

Whereas after the liberation of Kuwait in 1991, Iraq entered into a United Nations sponsored cease-fire agreement pursuant to which Iraq unequivocally agreed, among other things, to eliminate its nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons programs and the means to deliver and develop them, and to end its support for international terrorism;

Whereas the efforts of international weapons inspectors, United States intelligence agencies, and Iraqi defectors led to the discovery that Iraq had large stockpiles of chemical weapons and a large scale biological weapons program, and that Iraq had an advanced nuclear weapons development program that was much closer to producing a nuclear weapon than intelligence reporting had previously indicated;

Whereas Iraq, in direct and flagrant violation of the cease-fire, attempted to thwart the efforts of weapons inspectors to identify and destroy Iraq's weapons of mass destruction stockpiles and development capabilities, which finally resulted in the withdrawal of inspectors from Iraq on October 31, 1998;

Whereas in 1998 Congress concluded that Iraq's continuing weapons of mass destruction programs threatened vital United States interests and international peace and security, declared Iraq to be in "material and unacceptable breach of its international obligations" and urged the President "to take appropriate action, in accordance with the Constitution and relevant laws of the United States, to bring Iraq into compliance with its international obligations" (Public Law 105-235);

Whereas Iraq both poses a continuing threat to the national security of the United States and international peace and security in the Persian Gulf region and remains in material and unacceptable breach of its international obligations by, among other things, continuing to possess and develop a significant chemical and biological weapons capability, actively seeking a nuclear weapons capability, and supporting and harboring terrorist organizations;

Whereas Iraq persists in violating resolutions of the United Nations Security Council by continuing to engage in brutal repression of its civilian population thereby threatening international peace and security in the region, by refusing to release, repatriate, or account for non-Iraqi citizens wrongfully detained by Iraq, including an American serviceman, and by failing to return property wrongfully seized by Iraq from Kuwait;

Whereas the current Iraqi regime has demonstrated its capability and willingness to use weapons of mass destruction against other nations and its own people;

Whereas the current Iraqi regime has demonstrated its continuing hostility toward, and willingness to attack, the United States, including by attempting in 1993 to assassinate former President Bush and by firing on many thousands of occasions on United States and Coalition Armed Forces engaged in enforcing the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council;

Whereas members of al Qaida, an organization bearing responsibility for attacks on the United States, its citizens, and interests, including the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, are known to be in Iraq;

Whereas Iraq continues to aid and harbor other international terrorist organizations, including organizations that threaten the lives and safety of American citizens;

Whereas the attacks on the United States of September 11, 2001 underscored the gravity of the threat posed by the acquisition of weapons of mass destruction by international terrorist organizations;

Whereas Iraq's demonstrated capability and willingness to use weapons of mass destruction, the risk that the current Iraqi regime will either employ those weapons to launch a surprise attack against the United States or its Armed Forces or provide them to international terrorists who would do so, and the extreme magnitude of harm that would result to the United States and its citizens from such an attack, combine to justify action by the United States to defend itself;

Whereas United Nations Security Council Resolution 678 authorizes the use of all necessary means to enforce United Nations Security Council Resolution 660 and subsequent relevant resolutions and to compel Iraq to cease certain activities that threaten international peace and security, including the development of weapons of mass destruction and refusal or obstruction of United Nations weapons inspections in violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 687, repression of its civilian population in violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 688, and threatening its neighbors or United Nations operations in Iraq in violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 949;

Whereas Congress in the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution (Public Law 102-1) has authorized the President "to use United States Armed Forces pursuant to United Nations Security Council Resolution 678 (1990) in order to achieve implementation of Security Council Resolutions 660, 661, 662, 664, 665, 666, 667, 669, 670, 674, and 677";

Whereas in December 1991, Congress expressed its sense that it "supports the use of all necessary means to achieve the goals of United Nations Security Council Resolution 687 as being consistent with the Authorization of Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution (Public Law 102-1)," that Iraq's repression of its civilian population violates United Nations Security Council Resolution 688 and "constitutes a continuing threat to the peace, security, and stability of the Persian Gulf region," and that Congress, "supports the use of all necessary means to achieve the goals of United Nations Security Council Resolution 688";

Whereas the Iraq Liberation Act (Public Law 105-338) expressed the sense of Congress that it should be the policy of the United States to support efforts to remove from power the current Iraqi regime and promote the emergence of a democratic government to replace that regime;

Whereas on September 12, 2002, President Bush committed the United States to "work with the United Nations Security Council to meet our common challenge" posed by Iraq and to "work for the necessary resolutions," while also making clear that "the Security Council resolutions will be enforced, and the just demands of peace and security will be met, or action will be unavoidable";

Whereas the United States is determined to prosecute the war on terrorism and Iraq's ongoing support for international terrorist groups combined with its development of weapons of mass destruction in direct violation of its obligations under the 1991 cease-fire and other United Nations Security Council resolutions make clear that it is in the national security interests of the United States and in furtherance of the war on terrorism that all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions be enforced, including through the use of force if necessary;

Whereas Congress has taken steps to pursue vigorously the war on terrorism through the provision of authorities and funding requested by the President to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations or persons who planned, authorized, committed or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001 or harbored such persons or organizations;

Whereas the President and Congress are determined to continue to take all appropriate actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations or persons who planned, authorized, committed or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such persons or organizations;

Whereas the President has authority under the Constitution to take action in order to deter and prevent acts of international terrorism against the United States, as Congress recognized in the joint resolution on Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107-40); and

Whereas it is in the national security of the United States to restore international peace and security to the Persian Gulf region;

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SEC. 1. SHORT TITLE.

This joint resolution may be cited as the "Authorization for the Use of Military Force Against Iraq".

SEC. 2. SUPPORT FOR UNITED STATES DIPLOMATIC EFFORTS

The Congress of the United States supports the efforts by the President to--

(a) strictly enforce through the United Nations Security Council all relevant Security Council resolutions applicable to Iraq and encourages him in those efforts; and

(b) obtain prompt and decisive action by the Security Council to ensure that Iraq abandons its strategy of delay, evasion and noncompliance and promptly and strictly complies with all relevant Security Council resolutions.

SEC. 3. AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES.

(a) AUTHORIZATION. The President is authorized to use the Armed Forces of the United States as he determines to be necessary and appropriate in order to

(1) defend the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq; and

(2) enforce all relevant United Nations Security Council Resolutions regarding Iraq.

(b) PRESIDENTIAL DETERMINATION.

In connection with the exercise of the authority granted in subsection (a) to use force the President shall, prior to such exercise or as soon there after as may be feasible, but no later than 48 hours after exercising such authority, make available to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President pro tempore of the Senate his determination that

(1) reliance by the United States on further diplomatic or other peaceful means alone either (A) will not adequately protect the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq or (B) is not likely to lead to enforcement of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq, and

(2) acting pursuant to this resolution is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations or persons who planned, authorized, committed or aided the terrorists attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.

(c) WAR POWERS RESOLUTION REQUIREMENTS. --

(1) SPECIFIC STATUTORY AUTHORIZATION. -- Consistent with section 8(a)(1) of the War Powers Resolution, the Congress declares that this section is intended to constitute specific statutory authorization within the meaning of section 5(b) of the War Powers Resolution.

(2) APPLICABILITY OF OTHER REQUIREMENTS. -- Nothing in this resolution supersedes any requirement of the War Powers Resolution.

SEC. 4. REPORTS TO CONGRESS

(a) The President shall, at least once every 60 days, submit to the Congress a report on matters relevant to this joint resolution, including actions taken pursuant to the exercise of authority granted in section 2 and the status of planning for efforts that are expected to be required after such actions are completed, including those actions described in section 7 of Public Law 105-338 (the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998).

(b) To the extent that the submission of any report described in subsection (a) coincides with the submission of any other report on matters relevant to this joint resolution otherwise required to be submitted to Congress pursuant to the reporting requirements of Public Law 93-148 (the War Powers Resolution), all such reports may be submitted as a single consolidated report to the Congress.

(c) To the extent that the information required by section 3 of Public Law 102-1 is included in the report required by this section, such report shall be considered as meeting the requirements of section 3 of Public Law 102-1.

War Myth? What War Myth? The war myth of a demented mind such as this...individual at 'Loon? Do these uneducated and uninitiated "individuals" not understand that the Persian Gulf War of 1991 was NEVER OVER and the War In Iraq is the CONTINUATION of that war, because Saddam Hussein WOULD NOT comply with the United Nations Security Counsel Resolutions? What is there to NOT comprehend?

A "cease-fire" is NOT, repeat, NOT an end of a war. Korea is a prime example of that. The DMZ exists because tyhere is a CONSTANT state of war between North and South Korea.

Hello? Anybody listening? Pay attention! Here it comes! The 1991 Persian Gulf War was NEVER over and it isn't over yet!

War Myth? What War Myth?

He uses the almost 4,000 new crosses in military cemeteries as a talisman against his opponents -- notwithstanding the fact that he is wholly responsible for those crosses.

Gary what's-his-face needs a Boot In His Ass. This clown...this idiot from 'Loon has some serious issues. It is apparent that this would-be whatever IT aspires to be, does not realize that ITS verbiage only enables the enemy and if IT does know it, God help IT should our paths cross.

Somehow, some way, GWB gets the blame for past mistakes. Somehow, some way, GWB is to blame for the OBVIOUS failures of the EIGHT YEARS of CLINTON chasing skirts and using cigars as sex toys and couldn't be disturbed at GOLF pleasures to seriously consider National Security matters.

Yes, GWB ordered troops in because that is what Commanders do when required. And those troops know the risks involved when saying "I Do" to the USG. Some join for the free stuff as a service member but these cowards are soon weeded out and they become Senators or would-be Kerry-likes.

Gary what's-his-face, needs a Boot In his Ass.

Code Brain Dead

The other day, Michelle Malkin and others informed us of the Moonbat Hunger Strike. Today, CNS News has a little blurb about it and it directs us to SFGate.
She joined a crowd of about 100 demonstrators dressed in hot pink hats, shirts and scarves and fought the wind to raise her sign: "Impeach Bush and Cheney!"

"My arms are aching, but I'm getting energy from the drivers -- so many are honking in support," she said.

Wrong, moron. They are honking because y'all are idiots and wish you would catapult yourself over the edge and plummet to the water below.

Here is what I think. Seeing that these morons have NEVER read the Constitution, they have NO business demanding impeachment of anyone. Not ONE person has come up with causation for impeachment. Not one. Oh, yes, we have moonbats that demand such action but, moonbats are the lowest life-form on the planet and have no more common sense that a dead gnat. At times,I think dead gnats have more brain power than these silly and insignificant moonbats. Personally,I think they should be placed under whale poop seeing that the stature of whale poop is the lowest one can go in the oceans of the world.

Alas! I digress. Actually, these fools, when conducting their inane hunger strikes, should be forced to go the limit. After all, this would mean more food for the rest of us and good fertilizer for a hog farm someplace.

Just a thought.

And The Leftinistra Slip Further Into Obscurity

Reid says to himself..."Oh my [god]...they are winning. Now what do I do? I know. I'll call Nancy! Yeah! That's the ticket!

"Hello? Nancy? What is my next step? Really? Ignore it for long enough and it will go away? Really? You sure? Oh. Yeah. Right. Just like when we repeat our lies to garner votes and position for long enough, the American Idiots fall for our crap! Man! How could I be so stupid? What? Well, jeez! You didn't have to go and answer that. Damn, Nancy.

"But some of the weaker ones that have their own consciences still in tact are beginning to bail on us. What do we do about that? AH! Take their pork away! Why didn't I think of that? What do you mean I am dumber than a box of turtle turds? Snooper? Who in the hell is that? And who is collecting turtle turds for Christ's sake? Oh! Sorry. I didn't mean to mention a religious figure. Can I still have my warm mocca-java? OK. Now. Who is Snooper?

"AH! One of those friggin' Blog Swarm creeps! We need to shut them down! They are WAY too effective and they are beating the hell out of our pet moonbat base! They are slipping fast and now that idiot Cindy says she is mobilizing the base to take us out!! Who does she think she is?

"HOLY COW! Oh. There I go getting religious again. Sorry. I know. You weren't asking for a character witness but I am scared. Everybody is saying how dumb I am and it hurts my feelings. Why can't they just listen to us so we can stay in power and why does that dumb military have to go and start winning? Don't they know that will destroy us? We have worked so hard at getting the American Idiots to believe our lies and now they are using those SAME lies on us! It isn't fair!

"OH, bite me, Nancy! You went out and did that retarded Damascus thing and screwed it up so bad! Talk about calling the kettle pink. What? Black? Isn't that politically incorrect to use that color? Listen, Stretch. You are the one...but...but...but...STFU beeotch! Hello? Hello? Nancy?

"Well. Hell. She hung up on me. Maybe if I call Rush...?"

It it was only true...

Yahoo! News

Prior proponents of the ReidCo ignorance have begun to jump ship and the lame Stream Media has, reluctantly, begun to report that which THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS ALREADY KNEW. Imagine that.

One senator said U.S. troops are routing out al-Qaida in parts of Iraq. Another insisted President Bush's plan to increase troops has caused tactical momentum.

One even went so far on Wednesday as to say the argument could be made that U.S. troops are winning.

These are not Bush-backing GOP die-hards, but Democratic Sens. Dick Durbin, Bob Casey and Jack Reed. Even Sen. Carl Levin, chairman of the Senate Armed Services committee, said progress was being made by soldiers.

At the Opinion Journal

This doesn't necessarily mean these senators will abandon their calls for retreat, but it does seem likely that, come next month, those Democrats who do want America to win in Iraq--as well as Republican weak sisters, who've feared that they'll pay a price politically if they don't jump on the surrender bandwagon--will have an easier time voting their consciences.

On the other hand, it's doubtful that this will change the politics of the Democratic presidential race, where the core voters have always opposed the war and, failing that, favored retreat.

Actually, when you think about it, it's amazing how similar the 2008 race is to the 2004 race. We have a formidable establishment candidate who originally backed the war, then changed his mind (John Kerry then, Hillary Clinton now); a challenger who has opposed the war all along, and who is clearly out of his depth (Howard Dean, Barack Obama); and a third guy who stands around looking pretty (John Edwards, John Edwards). The biggest difference is that Mike Gravel doesn't quite have the gravitas of a Carol Moseley Braun.

This year, of course, everyone seems to think the Democrats are very likely, even guaranteed, to win. That's because, unlike in 2004, George W. Bush is very, very unpopular. The biggest danger for the Dems, then, is that their nominee will figure out that Bush is not on the ballot and won't know what to do.

Say It Ain't So!
From the Hill:

Congress's failure to secure a timetable for withdrawing American troops from Iraq has split anti-war activists on the tactical question of whether to attack Democrats, who now control Capitol Hill.

The split has also underlined accusations among some activists that MoveOn has abandoned its credentials as an issue-based advocacy group and now instead provides cover for Democratic Party leaders.

We guess we should apologize for our August 2003 characterization of MoveOn as a "far-left, pro-Saddam group." It seems they're actually just a bunch of partisans. How disappointing.

Iraq: Reid's Political Opportunism Is Showing

Really? No way? Political opportunism? Surely the worse Senate Leader in history wouldn't stoop to such a low point as all that now would he?

Excerpts from this article at CNS News:
If you needed any more proof that Democrat leaders in Congress are playing politics with the war against Islamofascism, all you had to do was listen to a recent Capitol Hill press conference where Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) was fielding questions.

When asked repeatedly whether the Iraqi people would be safer as a result of the anti-war/troops-out-now lobby getting its beloved US retreat, Reid responded by asking if there were any more questions.
So afraid he is of a victory in Iraq. it doesn't bode well for the genre of Reid to avoid those "hard questions", does it?
Maybe it wasn't a debate but it was certainly a press conference. In press conferences reporters ask questions and those holding the press conferences provide answers. Reid failed at providing an answer to a very simple question. He seems to be failing a lot lately, although you wouldn't know for his arrogance.
Reid...a man's worse nightmare...Mr Milquetoast. Pathetic. Coward. Chicken. Liar. Fraud. Reid.

Go read the rest of the article.

Taking His Ball and Going Home

The secondary title is "Whiner Reid".

I watched the Reid Pajama Party...the whole frivolous thing. KNOWING, like Spree says, that THEY. DON'T. HAVE. THE. VOTES. to pass their very UnAmerican amendments and their UnConstitutional amendments, as Saxby Chambliss so stated, they went ahead and did this total and complete embarrassment for the entire world to see...including our enemies...anyway. I was watching CSPAN2 as I live blogged it at Spree's and you can rest assured that so was the enemy...hello?

After it was all said and done, and cloture lost...again...ReidCo picked up his ball and went home saying, and I paraphrase, "Fine! You aren't playing nice (after getting MITCH SLAPPED AGAIN) so I am taking the bill off the floor." Phffttttttttttttttttttttttt! Moron.

The Hill:
Reid pulls defense authorization bill

Senate Democrats surprised Republican leaders Wednesday by pulling a major defense bill from the floor, prompting a fresh round of partisan attacks and casting doubt on whether the Senate will be able to reach consensus on Iraq.
It really shouldn't have been a surprise there. That is what most children do when they don't get their way. They take their ball and sulkingly walk away.

“This is a commentary on the lack of comity in the Senate,” said Armed Services Committee ranking Republican and presidential aspirant Sen. John McCain (Ariz). “It’s a commentary on where the priorities are of those who brought down this bill.”
What it boils down to here is that ReidCo didn't like getting slapped around for 30+ hours.

The move came after a rare overnight session in which Democrats sought to dramatize overwhelming Republican opposition to an amendment that would have required most troops to leave Iraq by next April. That amendment, offered by Sens. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and Jack Reed (D-R.I.), failed 52-47, falling short of the 60 votes needed to shut down debate and move toward final passage.
"Overwhelming Republican opposition"...in whose wet dream? This is yet ANOTHER example of the democrats believing their own lies and rhetoric. When will they learn that just because THEY say something, it doesn't mean that what THEY say is correct, does it? No. It doesn't.

Four Republicans voted for the cloture motion to end the debate, including Susan Collins (Maine), who is up for reelection and facing intense backlash in her home state. The senior Republican senator from Maine, Olympia Snowe, who cosponsored the amendment, also voted for cloture, as did anti-war Republican Chuck Hagel of Nebraska and Gordon Smith (R), a cosponsor who faces a tough reelection battle in Oregon.
RINOs all. Big woop. THAT is their "overwhelming Republican opposition"? Please.

Collins, however, does not support the amendment, and said she only voted for the cloture motion because of her opposition to a Republican filibuster blocking the measure from receiving an up-or-down vote.
Ya. Sure. Sounds like Kerry and Clinton..."I was against it before I thought about being for it after I figured out that the wind wasn't blowing in the direction I wanted so I was against it AND for it just before the wind changed so I had to vote for it........................."

HOW DO THESE PEOPLE GET ELECTED???????

In the narrowly divided Senate, Democrats have been pushing Republicans to relent on their demands that all Iraq-related measures require 60 votes for adoption. But Republicans say all controversial votes must pass the 60-vote test that has become the norm of the Senate.
As usual, when the loser democrats are LOSING, they want to change the rules. When the shoe is on the other foot,that is just too damn bad, as it were. Morons. WAH! [HIC-HIC] WAH!!

“It’s obvious to the American people that the war in Iraq has gone the wrong way, and all of a sudden now, seven months later, after the last defense authorization bill, they’re saying you need 60 votes,” said Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.). “That’s a new math that was developed by the Republicans to protect the president. That’s what it’s all about.”
Uh. Reid? Wasn't it DEMOCRATS that came up with that rule many moons ago? Hello? What is OBVIOUS to the American People, Reid, (don't know which American People Mr 14% Approval Ratings is referring to here) is that the Leftinistra are more useless than a sack of frog lips. The MAJORITY of the American People are "tired of the war" due to the OLD ROE that was installed by LEFTINISTRA JAG morons. Hello? WE WANT TO WIN AND WE KNOW WE CAN IF YOUR GENRE OF FOOLS WOULD SFTU!!

Reid could not resolve the procedural snag over several other bipartisan Iraq amendments, and decided to set the bill aside and move to a bill to cut rates on student loans.
He took his ball and went home to whine and sulk and skulk around like the reptile he is.

Reid said he plans to bring the defense bill back up, but only after Republicans agree to a timeline for troop withdrawal. The measure could resurface in September, when Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, reports to Congress on the status of the war. Many Republicans have urged lawmakers to wait until that report before pushing to change course in the war.
The Republicans are NOT going to set a timetable, you idiot!

Dear Chief Moosetwit ReidCo and fellow dweebs: listen up; YOU. DON'T. HAVE. THE. VOTES.

Reid during his closing whining.

52-47 — Republicans block Levin-Reed amendment

After an all-night debate session, Republicans succeeded Wednesday in blocking an amendment that would have required President Bush to begin withdrawing troops from Iraq within 120 days.

Four Republicans, Sens. Susan Collins (Maine), Chuck Hagel (Neb.), Gordon Smith (Ore.) and Olympia Snowe (Maine) voted with the Democrats to support the withdrawal. But supporters of the measure fell short of the 60 votes required to overcome a GOP filibuster.

Republicans had called the overnight debate political theater and a stunt that was aimed at appeasing the Democrats anti-war base more than anything else.

Democrats had asserted that it is clear that the troop surge in Iraq had failed to produce the desired results of getting the Iraqi government to move closer to reconciliation. They argued that the country should not have to wait until September, when General David Petraeus is to report on the progress in Iraq, to change course.

Independent Democrat Joe Lieberman (Conn.) was the sole defector from the Democratic caucus.

Blogging The Retarded All Nighter

Reid lost. Spree allowed me to live blog on her site. I stopped after the GOP stopped the cloture issue and they did so. Now, the whiner Reid is whining. The dude with the LOWEST approval rating in history is frustrated. He is a TOTAL idiot!!

Reid during his closing stupidity.

Such a dweeb.

Senate Scuttles Troop Withdrawal Bill Senate Scuttles Legislation Ordering Troop Withdrawals From Iraq

In this video image taken from AP Television News, the Senate votes on a motion to instruct Senate Sergeant-at-arms Terrance Gainer to "request the attendance of absent senators," in an effort to keep members near the chamber. The vote passed 41-37 on the second vote just after midnight.

Thou Shalt Not Question Reid!

The below, I received in my email:

Perturbed Reid Scolds ABC's Tapper for Questioning Withdrawal ABC's Jake Tapper on Thursday night raised the prediction "genocide" will result after a U.S. withdrawal from Iraq, a forecast Tapper put to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid at a Capitol Hill news conference: "Do you think the Iraqi people will be safer with U.S. troops out?" Reid didn't respond to the point, leading Tapper to retort in the exchange played on World News: "You didn't answer my question." A perturbed Reid, presumably not used to challenging questions from the Washington press corps, chastised Tapper: "This isn't a debate. We're answering questions." Tapper then repeated his question -- "Will the Iraqis be safer?" -- but Reid ignored him and moved on: "Anyone else have a question?" Tapper's story ran a night after Wednesday's World News featured a report from Terry McCarthy in Iraq on how General David Petraeus, commander of all multi-national forces in Iraq, "is still very optimistic about the military battle, if the politicians give him enough time."

On his "Political Punch" blog, Tapper posted a transcript of the entire exchange with Reid: blogs.abcnews.com

Tapper's July 12 World News story was pegged to the House passage of a resolution calling on troop withdrawal from Iraq to begin within four months, a measure to be taken up next week by the Senate. Following a pro and a con soundbite on the resolution, Tapper showed his exchange with Reid:

JAKE TAPPER: Some foreign policy experts predict that such a U.S. withdrawal could unleash genocide against innocent Iraqis. It's a subject Democrats do not want to discuss.

TAPPER TO REID AT PRESS CONFERENCE: Do you think the Iraqi people will be safer with U.S. troops out?

REID: It is clear that the Iraqi people don't want us there. It is clear that there is now a state of chaos in Iraq. And it is up to the Iraqi people to make themselves safe.

[Edit jump]

TAPPER: With all due respect, Senator, you didn't answer my question.

REID: This isn't a debate. We're answering questions.

TAPPER: Will the Iraqis be safer?

REID: Anyone else have a question?

TAPPER: This week's renewed push to withdraw troops, two months before General Petraeus reports to Congress on the progress of the surge strategy, has Republicans saying these votes are more about politics than national security....

I find it "curious" that Reid said that he was answering questions but refused to answer a few asked of him. Could it be that Reid will only answer questions which point to and support his low ratings...LOWER than GWB's?

What is Reid hiding and where is his substantiations to his claims when it is clear to the world that the words Reid speaks is contrary to the reports we hear from the Boots On The Ground?

And this is the report Terry McCarthy made from Iraq:

ABC: 'Petraeus Optimistic' on Iraq 'If
Pols Give Him Enough Time'

On ABC's World News on Wednesday night, reporter Terry McCarthy gave time to how moves in Washington, DC to pull U.S. troops out of Iraq will undermine progress against al Qaeda. Reporter Terry McCarthy, who traveled with General David Petraeus in the Sunni Triangle's al Qaeda stronghold south of Baghdad, highlighted how the commander of all forces in Iraq "is still very optimistic about the military battle, if the politicians give him enough time." McCarthy asked him: "Are you concerned that the U.S. political clock could start ticking too fast and undermine security here? Undermine confidence here?" Petraeus replied that "obviously, that's in the back of our minds. And there is not a great deal we can do about it, other than to continue to press forward." McCarthy concluded: "The fields south of Baghdad are still a major battlefield in the fight against al Qaeda. But increasingly, Petraeus knows the most important battle in the Iraq war is being fought out in Washington."

[This item was posted Wednesday night on the MRC's blog, NewsBusters.org: newsbusters.org ]

A transcript of McCarthy's story on the July 11 World News:

REPORTER TERRY MCCARTHY, NARRATING VIDEO FROM A HELICOPTER: Rich farmland along the Tigris River. From the air, it looks peaceful. But this is the so-called triangle of death, the Sunni belt south of Baghdad full of al Qaeda extremists, enemy number one for General David Petraeus.
GENERAL DAVID PETRAEUS: The enemy in Iraq that is causing the horrific attacks, that is igniting the sectarian violence, that is causing the mass casualties and damaging the infrastructure, by and large is al Qaeda.
MCCARTHY: This is al Qaeda territory, about 20 miles south of Baghdad and a major production area for car bombs. The primary mission of the U.S. military here is to turn the local population against al Qaeda and stop those car bombs making their way to Baghdad. Turning the local population against al Qaeda takes time. And that is one commodity that General Petraeus is running out of. He knows that Congress wants to draw down U.S. troops because they're losing faith in the Iraqi government.
PETRAEUS: No one is happy with where they are right now. We all share that frustration, frankly that disappointment.
MCCARTHY: Despite all this, Petraeus is still very optimistic about the military battle, if the politicians give him enough time.
MCCARTHY TO PETRAEUS: Are you concerned that the U.S. political clock could start ticking too fast and undermine security here? Undermine confidence here?
PETRAEUS: Obviously, that's in the back of our minds. And there is not a great deal we can do about it, other than to continue to press forward.
MCCARTHY: The fields south of Baghdad are still a major battlefield in the fight against al Qaeda. But increasingly, Petraeus knows the most important battle in the Iraq war is being fought out in Washington. Terry McCarthy, ABC News, Patrol Base Murray, central Iraq.

Strokes On The left!

Let The Leftinistra Stroke Out!

In a previous post here, Miss Beth brought our attention to another Leftinistra Strawman gone up in flames.

In the NY Post today, we find this: COURT GIVES BUSH A WIN ON WIRETAPS

July 7, 2007 — CINCINNATI - A federal appeals court yesterday ordered the dismissal of a lawsuit challenging President Bush’s domestic spying program, saying the plaintiffs had no standing to sue.

The 2-1 ruling by the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel was not on the legality of the surveillance program, but it vacated an order last year by a lower court in Detroit.

That court had found the post-9/11 warrantless surveillance aimed at uncovering terrorist activity to be unconstitutional, violating rights to privacy and free speech and the separation of powers.

The American Civil Liberties Union led the lawsuit on behalf of other groups including lawyers, journalists and scholars it says have been handicapped in doing their jobs by the government monitoring.

The case will be sent back to the U.S. District judge in Michigan for dismissal.

“Handicapped in doing their jobs”? What “jobs” would that be? Sedition? Subversion? Aiding and abetting the enemy? Treason? Licking the laps of the NYSlimes and the Washington Compost?

The Losers On The Left

AWWW!! Da Poor Widdle Jihadi Lovers Are Angwy!

And Another One Bites The Dust…

Another of the left’s strawmen arguments crashes and burns! Just where are all the Constitutional violations the left wants to impeach the CIC ? Hmmm…this particular strawman on the alleged illegal wiretapping just crashed–and burned. The article is at Townhall.com here.

The Rants of Miss Beth!!

Miss Beth Rants

Just HOW LOW Will the Libs/Dems/Scammers Go?

I have no proof dems and libs are involved in this, but frankly, after what we’ve seen the last six months in Congress, the corruption, money laundering, extreme ethics violations, etc., it would NOT surprise me one single iota to find they are indeed behind this in some measure.

Just what am I talking about? The Nigerian Scam with a twist. Using a US Soldier’s name to get attention–a currently serving US soldier. I mean, after all, let’s see how far these bottom feeding slime will take the name of the United States, engender further hatred toward those that defend our freedom, splatter them with more of the scandal that clings to dems and libs like the designer clothes they adore.

In other words, I’m royally PISSED OFF, and based on the cowards and criminals in congress, protesting in our streets, releasing shockumentaries, babbling from their soapboxes, I’m gonna say what I damn well please and if y’all don’t like it, tough. MY country, MY soldiers, MY freedom of speech.

Here’s what I got in my email (I’ve left all grammatical and structural errors intact):

Dear,

I am in need of your assistance. My name is SGT Justin Harris . I am in the Engineering military unit here in Ba’qubah in Iraq, we have about US$25 Million US dollars that we want to move out of the country. My partners and I need a good partner someone we can trust. It is oil money and legal.We are moving it through diplomatic means, to send it to your house directly or a bank of your choice using diplomatic courier service they can ship it directly to you in your place, door to door delivery. The most important thing is that can we trust you? Once the funds get to you, you take your 50% out and keep our own 50%. Your own part of this deal is to find a safe place where the funds can be sent to. Our own part is sending it to you. If you are interested i will furnish you with more details. But the whole process is simple and we must keep a low profile at all times.Can i trust you and will you help? Send me an email with your positive reply and i will send you more details and the plan. Dont worry it is risk free.Waiting for your urgent response.

Your Army in Iraq.
SGT Justin Harris
The email address it came from: justinharris0001@yahoo.com

FIRST of all should any of you get emails from this typical Nigerian scam, there is a government agency to report it to: phishing-report@us-cert.gov. Use this address liberally.

Second, there really is a Sgt. Justin Harris (Sgt. Justin Harris, a combat engineer who is a team leader for Company E and hails from Roseville, Calif. ), serving in Iraq. There’s a wonderful story on him here entitled “Ironhorse Brigade Helps Return Kidnapped Victims A joint effort with Iraqi Police returns three men to their families.”

Just how low will the scammers, the dems, the libs, the LSM, etc. go in besmirching those that defend their right to spew forth their vile? Using a hero’s name to promote illegal activities and Nigerian scams? They haven’t cooked up enough bullshit between Abu Ghraib, Haditha, etc.?

Assholes, all.

Yes, there are low-lifes everywhere and they are sure to be code pinko members or even friends of the trolls we see everyday. Imagine that?

  1. Beth,
    I’ve been getting things from all kind of Countries about money. It’s a scam.
    First time I seen a Soldier’s name being used. So Thanks for the update.
    And shame on the idiots that are doing this. You know the words I’d use.

  4. Freedom of speech doesn’t really seem to be the issue.
    The problem of the leftist approach to life is. Always seeking the lowest common denominator.
    Always seeking the most degraded form or version of life.

    An unjust nation is just another nation among many who are doomed to be swallowed by time.
