History will vindicate President Bush and will denounce the groups and individuals that suffer from Bush Derangement Syndrome and in recent days, the Palin Derangement Syndrome.

I have proof positive of my assertions for several decades that the Leftinistra can never admit ever being wrong about anything. Back in September, Sen Lieberman and Sen Graham issued the following resolution:

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senators Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) and Lindsey Graham today urged the U.S. Senate to adopt a bipartisan resolution that recognizes the reality of the strategic success of the surge in Iraq:

"It was exactly one year ago today that General David Petraeus returned to Capitol Hill to testify before Congress about the progress of the surge in Iraq. At the time, many members of the Senate argued that the surge -- despite growing evidence of its success -- was not working and should be abandoned. One left-wing group, Moveon.org, even made the despicable and outrageous accusation that General Petraeus would try to 'cook the books' to justify the surge when he appeared before Congress.

"One year later, it is clear: the critics of the surge were wrong.

"Had we heeded their advice to retreat from Iraq in 2007, the United States would have suffered a catastrophic defeat in the heart of the Middle East that would have had terrible consequences far beyond Iraq for years to come. Fortunately, we did not abandon General Petraeus and his brave troops, and as a result, the situation in Iraq has completely reversed. We have witnessed substantial progress on the political, economic and military fronts. Our enemies are weaker, and America is safer.

"We congratulate the Iraqi people for coming together in the face of so much adversity to further the peace and prosperity of their country. We honor their sacrifices and share in their desire to continue to build on success.

"The situation in Iraq remains fragile and complex. The war is not over. Our two deadliest enemies -- al Qaeda and Iran -- will seize any opportunities we hand them to come back.

"However, because of the strategic success of the surge, more and more American troops are coming home, not in defeat, but in honor.

"In withdrawing our troops from Iraq, however, it is critical that we do not jeopardize the hard-won gains they have achieved. That means any withdrawal must be based on the recommendations of General Petraeus and our commanders on the ground, not on an arbitrary timeline invented in Washington. Our brave military has fought too hard, and sacrificed too much, for American politicians to throw away the gains they have achieved with an arbitrary timeline.

"What is needed now, therefore, is not more partisan politics over Iraq, but for Democrats and Republicans alike to come together and recognize reality: to acknowledge that the surge was not just a tactical success but a strategic success; to give thanks to our courageous men and women in uniform who made it possible; and to pledge that we will do nothing that might squander these hard-won gains.

"For that reason, we have introduced a bipartisan resolution that recognizes the reality of the strategic success of the surge. We hope that the Senate can unite to take up and adopt this resolution this week, on the one year anniversary of General Petraeus' testimony before Congress and as he prepares to depart Baghdad to take command of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). The moment has come for the Senate to speak with one voice and admit the strategic success of the surge."

The result? Crickets. They refused to support this Resolution. Why? Because it would show that they were wrong about something. Their inability to acknowledge The Troops has shown that not only do they not support the GWOT that they originally did support, they also do not support the Troops or their Mission. It is all fluffy rhetoric for political gain...political power.

Czarbie, after forced into a corner by his own inability to think on the fly, admitted that the Troop Surge succeeded "beyond our wildest dreams". He has been waffling ever since.

They called the War In Iraq a separate war in the GWOT citing that the "real" war was in Afghanistan forgetting that President Bush stated many times that "we will fight this war on our terms and not the enemy's terms". The United States wrestled control of the war declared against us and fought it and is still fighting it on our terms. Much like McCain-Palin has "stolen" the Czarbie Hope and Change monicker from him, President Bush stole from Al Qaeda and all of the other terrorist groups the When and Where. If that nuance has escaped you, well, more's the pity...for you.

[...] The reality is that success in Iraq has confounded the political left, which placed a huge political bet on our defeat. Senator Reid famously declared the war lost in April 2007. Joe Biden introduced a resolution opposing the surge. And Hillary Clinton said the reports of progress in Iraq required "a willing suspension of disbelief." In the Democratic narrative, our troops in Iraq are victims of a lost cause, not heroes. They're allowed to get maimed and killed, but not to succeed.

Thus Democrats are left to argue that success in Iraq is irrelevant because the real fight against al Qaeda is occurring in Afghanistan. Or that the reduced violence in Iraq has resulted not from the troop surge but from the Sunni Awakening and the retreat of the Sadr militias. [...]

[...] The Lieberman-Graham resolution is a chance for Democrats to show that their support for the troops is more than rhetorical. It changes no policy and in that sense is only symbolic. Yet it is precisely the political symbolism of admitting they were wrong that is stopping the Democratic leadership from letting it come up for a vote before the Senate adjourns. Unfortunately, the last thing that Democrats want to discuss in this election season is success in Iraq. [END]

Indeed. I have been preparing to publish evidence of the complicity of Sen Reid and company in the American casualties amassed during The Reid Clan treasonous rhetoric while emboldening and enabling and encouraging the enemy to advance their political careers. It is beyond shameful.

The dramatic drop in violence in Iraq is due in large part to a secret program the U.S. military has used to kill terrorists, according to a new book by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Bob Woodward.

The program -- which Woodward compares to the World War II era Manhattan Project that developed the atomic bomb -- must remain secret for now or it would "get people killed," Woodward said Monday on CNN's Larry King Live.

"It is a wonderful example of American ingenuity solving a problem in war, as we often have," Woodward said.

In "The War Within: Secret White House History 2006-2008," Woodward disclosed the existence of secret operational capabilities developed by the military to locate, target and kill leaders of al Qaeda in Iraq and other insurgent leaders.

National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley, in a written statement reacting to Woodward's book, acknowledged the new strategy. Yet he disputed Woodward's conclusion that the "surge" of 30,000 U.S. troops into Iraq was not the primary reason for the decline in violent attacks. [...]

Iraq War News The Leftinistra Cannot Accept

Not only can the Leftinistra not accept the news I am about to bring to light, they are repelled by it because it is Truth.

The Iraqi PM said yesterday the following: Iraqi MP: "Let Iran and Those Foolish Arab Countries Listen Carefully. Iraq Will be an Ally of the West".... That has just GOT to get the goat, no pun intended naturally, of the Leftinistra that tried all so hard in all of 2006, 2007 and 2008 to lose the war and make our enemies - their friends - happy...especially Czarbama now that it has been shown that he himself has had some shady dealings with the enemy. And where does his allegiance fall and to whom? With nearly half of adult Americans now believe that the Troops Surge was a good idea after all, I am sure that number will rise exponentially in the future.

With the Washington Compost FINALLY saying what I have been saying for nearly three years now, I wonder if the BDS ills are being cured by accepting Truth. The fact of the matter is this - Al Qaeda is done in Iraq and have moved to Afghanistan and Pakistan through Iran. We have known this for a very long time. This really is not new news but, to the WaPo it seems like a surprise.

The Troop Surge Failed So Soldiers And Marines Perform Exit Strategy

The article goes into the usual legacy crap but the fact remains, 16 of the 18 Iraqi Benchmarks as set by the FAILED US CONgress led by DEMOCRATS have been met which really and truly rankles the pantyhose of Czarina II, San Fran Moonbat Pelosi, aka Stretch. (Her Thighness Hillary is Czarina I, FYI.) Back in April, only 12 of the 18 had been met. Now, today, the number is 16. Yep. That Surge sure failed. In June, the number was at 15 and libtards whined. I think they were whining because POLITICAL progress was being made and it was because of the MILITARY solution, just like General Petraeus told them that's what was needed. They agreed back then but soon called him General Betray Us. So much for Democrat Party honor and dignity. Remember how the #1 loser in America today, Harry Dingy Reid, among others, said many times that the war was lost? Here we are on the anniversary of The Surge with undeniable positive news and outcome of the War In Iraq and the Leftinistra are deathly silent. Why is that?

Air strikes hit more than 40 targets in Arab Jabour

FORWARD OPERATING BASE KALSU, Iraq - More than 40 targets were hit Jan. 10 after precision air strikes destroyed reported al-Qaeda safe havens in Arab Jabour. Thirty-eight bombs were dropped within the first 10 minutes, with a total tonnage of 40,000 pounds.

The precision air strikes supported Operation Phantom Phoenix, the overarching operation that includes Operation Marne Thunderbolt.

A joint operation between the Air Force and Soldiers of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division required extensive planning to prevent collateral damage and to deny the use of the area for attacks into Baghdad and against Coalition Forces.

Two B-1 Bombers and four F-16 fighter jets, directed bombs at three large target areas. Each bomber made two passes and the F-16s followed to complete the set. Coordination between the Army and Air Force was essential in making the operation a success.

Operation Marne Thunderbolt is an ongoing operation aimed at flushing out remaining al-Qaeda extremists operating in the southern Arab Jabour area, and to create conditions for improved security.

Soldiers from 2nd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division will join Iraqi Security Forces and Concerned Local Citizens to continue these offensive operations to keep pressure on the enemy.

What is it with the vast majority of KOSmonoffs these days? Can they not feel the wind directions change? Can they not tell that they are irrelevant and insignificant? Whereas it might be true, I have no way of knowing, that the KOSmonoff site gets 487,391 hits a day, that is pretty much irrelevant. Many of "us" go there to see how loony they are and get quite a grand guffaw now and then. We DO link back and many of our readers know to fact check BEFORE they write elsewhere...something of an alien concept to a KOSmonoff or any other moonbat. They really are lost, don't you know...

This particular KOSmonoff has the consistent wrongness and blind ignorance of facts, no matter which OR whose book It reads. I suspect that at one time, this poor child once lauded Murtha as a hero of the moonbats seeing that he also said that the surge was not working. Now that Murtha has stated otherwise, I guess the poor child's zero is Reid again. You know, the fool that says the Surge isn't working whereas everyone of at least half of a brain knows otherwise.

Hell, even OBL admitted that factoid.

It is quite evident to this DAV that Rep John Murtha has one thing on his mind and that is defeat. No...that's not quite true, is it? Perhaps he has the 2008 election drawing nigh. If this is true, then, how can he explain his recent change of heart?

Being the brave soul that he is or, knowing that his security was provided by individuals other than those murderous scum Marines, Rep Murtha traveled to Iraq to "visit" with The Troops during Thanksgiving festivities. My friend Uncle Jimbo said that those lads must have reacted under pressure and actually broke down and fed him. Uncle Jimbo does have a way with words.

Congressman Murtha traveled to the Al-Anbar Province to see for himself that which most of us already knew, having actually been there, that relatively speaking, all is quiet on that front. However, I find that quite curious. "Mister" Murtha once said of Michael O'Hanlon and Kenneth Pollack upon their return trip from Iraq the following:

A trip to Iraq, sneers Murtha: who could learn anything meaningful from that? It's an illusion.

Why the "sudden" turn around and, using his own words, ever thankful for the internet that Gore built so we can track their every word, did he participate in an illusion? Is there "magic dust" in the gritty sand that permeates the very air one breathes in over there?

One can pontificate and project the many answers to these questions...the correct answer is only known by Rep Murtha...perhaps not.

Rep Murtha has many woes ahead of him, heaped upon himself in his unrepentant quest for the Almighty Political Power for political gain that so permeates the American political farce in these modern times. Case in point? Haditha, Iraq.

I find it curious that a former Marine would so vehemently and arrogantly violate fellow citizen's civil rights and have them charged, tried, convicted and "executed" before the investigation had been completed. His sources were deep within the Pentagon.

Curious, that indeed. That said same Pentagon that Murtha so cherished at the time, is the exact same Pentagon that Murtha severely rebuked just before he went on his junket to Iraq.

Because the Pentagon says it, you believe it?

Yes. That is "Rather" curious. I suppose that if the Pentagon folks said something that could benefit "mister" Murtha, "mister" Murtha would be assailing them as good, honest and decent folk. After all, there are Marines in that building, by God. However, should those dastardly murderous Marines at the Pentagon say something that could have an adverse affect on the political aspirations of a man that needs to retire and MoveOn, well, there will be hell to pay and how dare anyone believe them, by God.

Yes, "mister" Murtha does for a fact have defeat on his mind. At first it was two-fold, perhaps three-fold. He had to stand by other what we call Defeatocrats here in the US in order to remain in his current stead so, a defeat in Iraq was the Order of the Day. That would ensure a sure shoe-in come election day. That was his driving force behind the Haditha self-induced quagmire...political grandstanding - opportunism I believe is the correct phrase.

Haditha didn't quite work out for him now, did it? All but one Marine has been 100% exonerated and that one will soon be. So, why the change of heart, "mister" Murtha?

It seems like he has caught that disease of willing suspension of disbelief, the way that Hillary addressed General Petraeus. Murtha also faces a serious challenger and he must play to his base in the grand state of Pennsylvania and he has to do it quickly...he is slipping in PA thanks to the Lt Col that hopefully will replace him. Perhaps he is trying to distract from the Marine suing him as well.

It is said that the US Justice Department will not be able to have the law suit filed against him dismissed because he called the Press Conference to announce his "findings" on Haditha and it wasn't on official business. this remains to be seen, however. If he is unsuccessful at having he suit dismissed, there are 8 other families that will follow. Poor "mister" Murtha will be owned.

So, now, at this juncture, he must play to the other folks in his area of responsibility, hoping they will forgive him when they see for themselves that he has "seen the light" as it were, and there really is Victory in the air with the War In Iraq. He is even ready for a compromise with that "idiot Bush".

It must really sting badly when, as the Leftinistra here in the States say, the worse President ever and the dumbest man alive beats our Leftinistra and others in other lands at every turn, at every step and every issue...save one. Is that really something to brag about? Getting beat by the worse there is? Doesn't say much for them now, does it?

I can safely say that I am "Rather" enjoying watching "mister" Murtha squirm. Everything that befalls the "man", he so richly deserves it.

America Is Winning The Home Surge

As we approach the Big Squeeze elections in November 2008, I find it interesting how the War In Iraq is becoming less and less significant...to the Leftinistra at least. This reveals how shallow and insignificant they themselves are. It also reveals something else as well.

It reveals how they will react to other issues which don't go the way they so desire to reinforce their ways and means. Apparently, as issues slide away from their desired direction, that particular issue will be side-stepped and played down as if it really has no bearing on the Greater Good.

As I was reading and scanning hundreds of posts this morning, I ran across an interesting post by Jules Crittenden. the post is entitled Mood Surge. Is it any wonder why that troll Olberman is eerily silent?

As is evidenced by the absolute and total flopping of anti-Americanist Hollyweird films of late, Americans know better than to contribute to the delinquency of minors. Americans are sick and tired of hearing the lies of Hollyweird and the defunct Democratic Party Leadership.

As usual, the whiners at MSLSD were unable to place the poll in perspective and Jules did it for them. Go take a view of the words of wisdom.

They did mention that the majority of Americans, 54%, want the troops to come but what they do not say is that we want them to come home when the job is done. Odd how they "accidentally" omit that "minor detail". The poll can be found here.

NO 'NIGHTMARE' - WHY 'SURGE' IS WORKING

October 23, 2007 -- THE former top commander in Iraq - Army Lt.-Gen. Ricardo Sanchez (ret.) - recently called the situation in Iraq "a nightmare with no end in sight." Citing insufficient prewar planning and a strained military, he painted a dismal picture of American prospects there.

War critics painted a similar picture when violence in Iraq peaked in '05 and '06 - using terms like "civil war" and "sectarian violence" - as they pushed for a rapid draw-down or immediate withdrawal of U.S. forces. An Iraq "at war with itself" shouldn't be America's problem, they argued. In fact, the existence of a "religious civil war" remains the chief antiwar talking point to this day.

Problem is, the new U.S. strategy has changed the facts on the grounds.

A year ago, the assertions of Sanchez and the antiwar critics were an accurate description of the violence throughout Iraq: Armed death squads freely roamed the streets in Baghdad and outlying areas, responding to massive bombings committed by al Qaeda. And vice versa. Each week saw hundreds of innocent Iraqis - the victims of sectarian attacks and reprisals - kidnapped and killed. Worst of all, compromised members of the security forces (Iraqis in uniform) were complicit in many killings.

I was in Samarra on Feb. 22, 2005, the day al Qaeda-affiliated insurgents destroyed the dome of the Golden Mosque, and am very familiar with the violence that followed. That event was a catalyst for widespread violence in Iraq. Destroying a Muslim place of worship was indicative of al Qaeda's overall strategy: foment violence, maintain instability, and intimidate the local population. And it worked.

The critics had a point: American soldiers were simply caught in the middle - not permitted to take action to stop the violence, and yet still very much in harm's way. But what the critics failed to see was that it didn't have to be that way - that what the troops lacked was an adaptive strategy that recognized and addressed underlying causes of the violence.

Enter Gen. David Petraeus and a strategy that did just that. (The term "surge" is far too simplistic, as it implies simply throwing more forces at the problem, when Petraeus' changes in tactics are even more important).

The new counterinsurgency approach - namely, to take territory from al Qaeda, hold it, secure it and empower tribal sheiks to work together and rebuild their communities - finally provides an effective "counteroffensive" to the chief tactics of al Qaeda militants and Shiite death squads.

America's enemies in Iraq, radical insurgents living and fighting among the general public, understand that they can't continue their fight without capitulation from ordinary Iraqis. Finally, after almost four years, the U.S. military understands this as well.

Whereas we used to emphasize overwhelming firepower (even when I was there in 2006), we now emphasize firepower as a last resort. Whereas we used to rush to the scene after the violence occurs, we're now there to repel it or deter it altogether.

This commitment - up and down the chain of command - has made a major impact on the tit-for-tat death toll that was threatening to tear the country apart. Sectarian violence has been severely curtailed.

Since last December, sectarian deaths throughout Iraq have dropped over 50 percent; overall attacks against civilians are down 50 percent. In Baghdad - the focal point of Petraeus' strategy - sectarian deaths are down almost 80 percent in 10 months and large al Qaeda-style truck and suicide bombings have dropped over 50 percent.

Moreover, ordinary Iraqis are providing far more tips and other information. We now get some 23,000 tips a month, four to five times the level of a year before. This measure - which directly correlates to the trust and support of the population - is promising.

These are significant and consequential numbers and indicate real successes in stomping out the civil war. But it's not just numbers that make the case that the civil war is ending. Look, too, at what the new strategy lets commanders do in their now-daily discussions with ordinary Iraqis.

Petraeus reports that foreign (non-Iraqi) recruits conduct over 80 percent of al Qaeda's attacks; and therefore, by refocusing local tribal leaders on this fact, American commanders are making a convincing argument to the sheiks: Why launch an indiscriminate reprisal against another sect, ratcheting up the level of violence, when you can simply tell us and Iraqi security forces where the foreign insurgents are and we'll go get them? The numbers say that's exactly what's happening.

A people drowning in sectarian violence and warped by perpetual vengeance aren't going to immediately engage in political reconciliation. Security improvements must first dampen the violence, lower tensions and restore humanity. This is exactly what Petraeus has done, and we have finally begun providing the tangible security improvements necessary for lasting political solutions at the local and national levels.

Although many hope to convince America otherwise, the Iraq war has fundamentally changed in '07. It's not a civil war anymore. It's the people of Iraq vs. al Qaeda and Iranian proxies, with the U.S.-led Coalition helping the Iraqi people swing their sword of sovereignty.

That's the kind of good news that people on both sides of the aisle should appreciate.
