The funds these people raise will go toward anti-war events sponsored by them and their allies including IVAW (Iraq Veterans Against the War). IVAW is preparing to launch its Winter Soldiers campaign which, like the original, will defame and demoralize our troops by publicizing lies and deceptions about their service in Iraq. It is a major goal of Gathering of Eagles to ensure that our military men and women are Never Again abused in this way.

Last Tuesday, 6 November, 2007, was Election Day here in Philadelphia. On an average Election Day there are between 100 and 150 absentee ballots from active duty service members. This election there were 8. Maybe only 8 men and women voted. Maybe this is much ado about nothing, but it does seem suspicious. Special Forces officer David Oh was on the ballot for a City Council At-Large seat. It is a close election. Votes are still being tallied. Currently only about a dozen votes separate him and his challenger.

We are actively soliciting anyone from Philadelphia, PA who has a relative serving overseas. If any of them voted we would like to know. Please contact us with their names so we can check them against the list of absentee ballots. If service men or women were denied their right to vote, while actively helping to preserve democracy, we will not stand idly by. Put out the word. Email your lists and call your friends. It is time for us, the Gathering of Eagles, to say we will not allow any ill treatment to befall our brave men and women in uniform. It is time for us to say, this is our line in the sand. For the last few weeks, the “Liberal’s War on America” has gone badly.

* MoveOn, the New York Times, and Senators who accused Gen. Petraeus of being a traitor and a liar have been exposed and repudiated;
* The media’s attempted flim-flam to portray Iran’s Terrorist Dictator as a “Statesman,” tripped on Columbia University’s red carpet;
* The brave combat Marines whom Congressman Murtha and the press eagerly charged with “cold-blooded murders” in Iraq are being found innocent, acquitted one by one.

The “War” is not going well … the “War On America,” that is.

Those who claim they “Support the Troops” are finally being unmasked, shown for being the cowards they are. But, it won’t be long before they regroup, begin their own “Surge” in this decades-long “War On America.” We won’t stand by quietly when they do; nor, should you.

My fellow POWs and I have long known the contempt the extreme Left has for our military. We felt the crush of rifle butts in our faces, beatings and unspeakable torture in the Hanoi Hilton Prison when we refused to kowtow to American traitors who traveled to these countries for propaganda “photo-ops” with our Communist jailors.

The so-called “anti-war movement,” lead by the likes of Lt. John Kerry and his mentor, Sen. Ted Kennedy, also said they “supported the troops”. What they didn’t say is whose “troops.”

We knew the answer then, we were witnesses and victims. It’s the same today. They “support” America’s enemies, any Communist Regime, Dictator or Terrorists that vow to kill and maim American soldiers and innocent civilians.

American soldiers in Vietnam were falsely accused of being a “barbarian horde,” “rapists,” “murderers,” “drug addicts” and “baby killers.”

Today, their sons, daughters and grandchildren serving in uniform stand accused of being “terrorists,” “Nazis,” “cold-blooded murderers,” people who wantonly conduct “air raids on villages” bombing and killing civilians.

Stop Democrats From Tying the Hands of Our Troops

This comes in from our friends at Vets For Freedom:

As a pro-mission veterans group Vets For Freedom supports General Petraeus and his recommendations for victory in Iraq. Lately many of our nation’s senators have attempted to hamper the military’s ability to implement those recommendations, and as a result have made our ability to win in Iraq and Afghanistan all the harder. Ohio Senator George Voinovich is one such senator.

Last week Ohio veterans taking part in the Vets For Freedom trip to Capitol Hill had a meeting with Senator Voinovich. At the end of the meeting the senator gave them a copy of his proposed resolution that would set timelines for Petraeus’ recommendations. The resolution has not yet been introduced to the Senate but we at Vets For Freedom feel it is necessary to condemn the proposed resolution outright.

As veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan we understand the battlefield is constantly changing. Any attempt to set strict timelines for the military can be potentially harmful as a result. While Senator Voinovich may believe he has the best interest of the military in mind we believe General Petraeus should be allowed to operate without politicians hampering his ability to do his job.

Vets For Freedom urges senators to support victory against America’s enemies by allowing the military to do its job free from political constraints. Instead of more resolutions what we call for is support for General Petraeus as he has already shown his policies like the ‘surge’ in Iraq are working. Given more time we believe the quickest way out of Iraq is through victory.

Contact Senator Voinovich and Tell him not to propose legislation that would tie the hands of our military. It is not up to congress to tell our Generals how to fight the war. Also, voice your support for General Petraeus and victory in Iraq. Urge him to allow the military to do its job through to completion.

We were intrigued by the headline on this story from CNSNews.com: "September 15 Anti-War Protest to Be 'Unlike Any Other.' " The first paragraph repeats the point:

Organizers of an anti-war protest scheduled for Sept. 15 said Wednesday that the demonstration will be "unlike any other" as activists gather to demand an immediate end to the war.

Wow, unlike any other! What could that mean? Are they going to take showers before marching? Are they going to demand that the enemy give up rather than our side? We read on:

The protest, organized by Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER), begins with a rally near the White House, continues with a march to the U.S. Capitol, and concludes with a "die-in" that organizers estimate will involve approximately 1,000 people lying down near the Capitol in a symbolic effort to represent dead "U.S. soldiers and dead Iraqis.

Brian Becker, ANSWER's national coordinator, told reporters at a news conference Wednesday that the demonstration "will be unlike any other anti-war protest in recent years because it will culminate in a massive civil disobedience" referring to the "die-in". In other words, it's going to be like every other "antiwar" protest. OK, CNSNews, fool us once, shame on you . . .

It was indeed a rally as none other. We Eagles made note of the momentum we have gained and the momentum "they" have lost.

It took them OVER 3 hours to get more folks. We had them outnumbered and outgunned. They tried to wait us out but we would NOT budge. When they finally came, they bunched all up and many carried more than one sign to appear they had more folks. They clearly did not...I don't care what the Lame Stream Media printed or aired.

The Conservative Tsunami grew a bit on the 15th.

Now, for a recap of yesterday and a portent of that which is to come:

Did we have as many Pro Troops people as the enemy had anti-troops people? Honestly, I cannot for sure one way or another. There were herds of folks on all sides. Actually, it really doesn't matter. The enemy has lost their momentum and we have gained momentum and we must build on that. And, as my friend Sonlit Knight says, "Let's remember that that is all moonbats do. They protest."

Let us also remember this...they break the laws and get arrested and we do not. Go figure.

For far too long, we have sat on our collective buttocks waiting for what I do not know. It is time we band together and defeat the insurgency on the home front. That insurgency are the leaders of the Fruit Loop Moonbat Brigades. They incense to riot for their cause and expect us to back down. Well, we are NOT backing down and I, Snooper, will stand with anyone that stands against the enemies within whether they be in our CONgress or members of the likes of ANSWER.

The people on our side, don't always turn out in the numbers the opposition turns out. We have jobs and they do not. They get paid to "protest" and we do not. Our side is the Right side and don't ever forget it. However, having said that, we MUST take and make the time to show up and Ruck Up. Staying at home without a valid or viable causation is unacceptable. Staying at home thinking that your presence won't make a difference is well...cowardly. It does matter and it does make a difference.

The opposition is in a desperate situation. Never before have they anticipated or experienced such opposition and they do not know how to respond. Hopefully, they will not learn how respond and will continue to react. There is a difference.

The opposition is experiencing a political dilemma and we cannot afford to allow them to regroup and/or recuperate from the trouncings they have experienced.

For all their George Soros funding and their fancy placards and their rent-a-protesters bused in from around the country, they had a remarkable deer in the headlights look to them as they walked by. Some even appeared shocked and incredulous at the anger they have provoked.

Exactly so. I could see it in their eyes...fear. When confronted, they flee. When challenged, they get ugly.

As even our enemies here at home can see, it is "Rather" evident that our side is morally correct. They fear and hate us for that which we stand...a STRONG America and a VICTORIOUS America. When America wins, they lose. This is what they fear. Their agenda of socialistic/communistic ways and means is being directly confronted and challenged. Che is dead...get over it.

It is not a moral position to advocate surrender to barbarians. It is not our side that is unwilling to give peace a chance. That is the position of the other side. For all their shrieking about American imperalism and agression, the left doesn't want to face one very clear and incontravertable fact- we aren't the ones blowing up 5 year olds and crashing planes into buildings.

I stood with my brothers and sisters yesterday and it was but one step in a journey of many steps. We have been silent and inactive for too long and we have finally been heard. Join us in our quest, will you? We scared them yesterday. We out-shouted them all yesterday. All I could hear from my perch for photos were Eagles Soaring...I could not hear the enemy and many were crying. Good. Let them cry. They have lost.

Let them display their colors of dishonor of yellow and pink...perhaps one day we will paint the stripes on their backs as we send them off to another country to live where they can feel more at home. We don't want them here and there are more of us than there are of them.

Both surges are working...the one in Iraq and the one here at home but we have a very long way to go because we waited too long to speak out. We MUST re-educate the masses that the war is NOT about oil and that the WMDs were NOT the reason for war...it was one of 20+ causes that the media conveniently "ignores".

I saw many signs being held by the Fruit Loop Brigades. Several were attacking CONgress Critters of all makes and models. I even saw a few that said that "2008 Is Coming". I thought to myself, "Indeed it is and aren't you in for a rude awakening, moron."

Indeed. 2008 is soon approaching and will soon be upon us all. Can you see the Conservative Tsunami? I can. We have had enough of this and we will not take it anymore.

It has come to our attention that our good friends at Move America Forward are being targeted by the anti-American left. It is not enough that these ultra-liberal forces think it fine to disparage our men and women in uniform. They are now targeting our supporters as they make their way to stand with us in Washington, DC, on 15 September.

They have threatened Melanie Morgan personally and have used the vilest language to harass our friends. Obviously, they have underestimated our resolve and the resolve of our friends in Move America Forward. This is their last-ditch attempt to derail the
counter-protest we have in store for A.N.S.W.E.R.

Turn out in force to welcome Move America Forward as they make their way across the country. These people must be reminded that the silent majority is silent no more!

After-Action Report: 17 August 2007, 1800 Hours Washington, NC

The Moonbats assembled in Washington, NC sank to a new low yesterday. As usual their crowd was small but larger than the week before. The Eagles responded to the call of battle and once again we had to chase their coward asses down the street since they do not want to stand in front of us and defend ‘who the hell knows’ their position.

The City of Washington was putting on a “block party” of music, food and dancing for the young people of Washington. I dare say there were a good thousand plus of teens, parents and the citizens of the wonderful city of Washington in attendance.

And then came the ROLLING THUNDER of Jacksonville, NC Chapter on their beautiful bikes accompanied by wives and friends. They also had many lady riders as well. What a beautiful sight to hold. They cruised by with their flags flapping in the breeze, their stereos blaring the Marine Corp Hymn, Anchors A Weigh, Star Spangled Banner and many others songs.

The Moonbat Scumbags were absolutely blown away. They were mortified! They had the pangs of fear sweep through their bodies and I think one of them peed in their pants. After a couple of “gun runs”, er… passes!, they parked their beautiful steeds of steel and walked up to our position on the line in their full regalia and hats.

I started laughing when the Moonbats came together in a huddle and I heard one exclaimed “Holy Sh*t” they are coming up here to get us. I think I could speak for the whole crowd of Eagles saying how proud we were to be an Eagle and a Vietnam Vet and see these brothers and sisters coming up to join us at our battle line. It was better than seeing the Cavalry save the day!
Now for the sad part of the evening. This demonstrates the MoonBat Scumbags will resort to anything. Because they were vastly outgunned, they begin to grab young people and anyone who would listen to them to recruit them on the spot to counter the Eagles. They especially went after the young people. They put these young teens IN FRONT OF THEM TO PROTECT THEMSELVES….! Just like the NVA would put innocent children and women in the front lines knowing the Americans would not fire on innocents!

How damn low can you get. Now the sickening part!

Many of the young people rode by blew their horns in support of the Eagles. Some wandered across the street and were mobbed by the Moonbats to sign their petition. Of one group of teens (5 in number) were conned into holding up signs for the Moonbats; “TEENS FOR PEACE” and the real low one a young lady probably sixteen years old holding a sign “FU*K BUSH”. The other disgusting sign was shown by a young lad, maybe 18-20 “POT FOR PEACE.”

Most of the Eagles on the field last night are fathers, mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers. Imagine yourself recruiting children to stand in front lines to protect yourself and then display signs of filth and disrespect. These Moonbats have NO HONOR, NO RESPECT, NO LOVE OF CHILDREN AND NOTHING ELSE but their own personal greed and stupid, moronic code of hate.

I am more proud of being an Eagle than ever before. All of us out there should be proud. We will win! We will see the face of America change. Our fathers generation screwed it up and we are going to fix it. I cannot imagine how much our brothers on the Wall are proud of us. If we could see them for day, I think they would say, “Well Done”.

Gathering Of Eagles Continue to Confront Cindy Sheehan: Central Park

Their success in this regard is phenomenal as we showed you just the other day when the GOE confronted Cindy Sheehan in Philly and Mother Sheehan ran away, yet again.

So, next stop: Central Park!!!!

What: Gathering of faint Hearts Rally/Concert
Where: Central Park, East Meadow, 5th Ave & East 97th Street (Opposite Mt. Sinai Medical Center)
When: Sunday, July 29th, Noon to 6pm
Plan: Gather at 5th Ave & East 97th Street at Noon.

We will proceed into the park and stake out a prominent location. We will voice our Support for our Troops and disdain for Ms. Sheehan as loudly and vocally as possible. We will use our first amendment right to free speech to interrupt her traitorous bile. Remember, Casey was a Hero, Cindy is a Zero!

Bring flags, signs, banners, cow bells, duck callers anything you might need for a day in the park with moonbats. If you arrive late just enter the park through that entrance and look for the cluster of American flags (we can be certain the traitors won’t have them). Background:

Cindy Sheehan, estranged mother of the hero, Casey Sheehan, who died in Iraq trying to help his wounded comrades, has made a career out of lending aid and comfort to our enemies. She has been a willing pawn of the radical left wing. Her celebrated retirement earlier this year ended this month when she decided to mount a “Walk for Humanity” (In which she hasn’t walked a mile) from Crawford, TX, to New York City.

The Gathering of Eagles has met her every step of the way. We mounted counter protests at Ft. Benning, Georgia, Charlotte, North Carolina, Charlotteville, Virginia, Arlington, Virginia and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She retreated from many of those engagements.

We want her to know that we in New York support our troops and have nothing but scorn and disdain for anyone espousing treason who stands to encourage the enemy to prolong and intensify their actions against our brave men and women. We want her to know that the Gathering of Eagles and all our allies and friends will do everything in our power to shout truth to her seditious lies. We want her to know, when she leaves for her Mideast “Traitor’s Tour” next week, that Americans despise what she is doing!

We want our troops in the field to know that we have their backs at home; whenever and wherever we must be. They are sacrificing years of their lives for us, we can damn well sacrifice a day for them!

BEFORE THERE WERE EAGLES

In the spring of 2003, before the war in Iraq had even begun, we would see a group of protesters flying the flag upside down, every Sunday, on the same corner as we came home from church in California. While my husband, Air Force Veteran, Jerry English, wanted to get some friends and march them into the nearby sea, cooler heads (Mine!) prevailed;we both have very strong feelings about our Flag! But we wanted to do something to let our local military people know that they were supported. We came up with the idea of printing out on our computer a simple business card.

On one side it simply says THANK YOU with a couple small graphics of the USA flag and a Ribbon with Flag motif. On the back of the card we printed:

During difficult times America’s finest have put on the uniform of the U.S. Military. Your service is appreciated. Thank You! God Bless you and yours!

As we started handing them out we realized that we could never get to all of them so we decided to have a RALLY FOR AMERICA / SUPPORT THE TROOPS and it was held March 22, 2003. The media found it to be so odd that they covered it (in advance / and the day of) and we had about 500 people show up! It was awesome. We did another for Armed Forces Day and again for Sept 11th / WE REMEMBER.

We took down names and emails and when Christmas 2003 came around we had sent off 1,167 cards filled with a pack of cocoa or tea and a note of support to a Lt.Col. in Iraq. They were distributed and we got wonderful letters back from the troops! That was a lot of fun so we did it again for Valentines Day; over 1,000 cards. By this time
I had done many media interviews and they kept asking for a name of our group. We decided on CARDS AND COCOA FOR THE TROOPS. But after that we started sending all the important goodies. Beef jerky, wet wipes and Chocolate when it wasn’t to hot.

We have continued to have our March rally and Sept 11th rally for the last five years. We have also shipped off over 5 TONS of goodies to Iraq and Afghanistan. Our group of volunteers numbers about 200 and we have done it all without a committee meeting or being a non-profit or having a web site. After we took on an official name I did get some separate cards printed via vistaprint.com ( 250 cards / free / pay $5 forshipping ) and that has our contacts.

(Military parking permits are Blue for Officer and Red for Enlisted.
Other colors are people who work on the base but are not military!)
We frequently stick them in drivers door jams (with the flag showing!) so it is a treat to find when they come out of the store. We also look for veterans who are wearing their baseball hats stating when / where they served. We have had many an emotional moment giving them a card.

We have also tied in with Move America Forward and gone at least part ofthe way on two caravans, including this last one in March that met up with the Eagles at the Wall. We had our 5th Annual Rally for America / We SUPPORT THE TROOPS AND THEIR MISSION also on the 17th of March, here locally.

It is exciting to find that more and more people are willing to take thetime to stand up and be vocal in support of our troops!

Kate O’Malley, columnist for Human Events Online and proud fellow Eagle, has a great column up this morning. The article explores the motives behind people like Dan Frasier, an antiwar activist who has produced T-shirts with the slogan “Bush Lied, Soldiers Died,” on top of a list of soldiers who have given their lives in Iraq.

He is making money off these fallen heroes, although according to his website, he isn’t really a very good capitalist, “In fact, it is not clear that the shirts have generated any profits at all. Much of the first batch of shirts was sold at a deep discount. The shirts were complex to design and expensive to produce. The cost of the shirts has been kept as low as possible to encourage sales and spread the important message. Of course, this product is not meant to be a statement on behalf of the families or the fallen soldiers?? said Frasier in an open letter on his website.

Okay, I will admit that I was not an economics major, so maybe I am missing something here. The shirt is not making much a profit because our friend Dan wants to encourage sales to spread the important political message he believes in, but the message is somehow not meant to be a statement on behalf of the men and women who appear on his shirt. So Dan isn’t doing this for the money, he is doing it to spread a political message. So this isn’t actually a product as much as it is an advertising tool.

Arrrghhh….my head hurts. Those rascally lefties! Dan isn’t a capitalist after all, he is a political activist! Darn, I knew it was too good to be true.

The article is sarcastic and amusing, yes, but it’s also heart wrenching. Katie skillfully reminds us of what the results of the left’s version of “free speech” are.

Frasier may not be a good capitalist, but he is an accomplished grave robber. He is using dead soldiers, soldiers who can’t protect themselves, to further his own personal agenda. He can do so without the censure of these men and women because they are dead. They are unprotected, unable to be heard, unable to approve or dispute his use of their names. They can not be interviewed on the nightly news to counter his association of their life’s work with his personal cause. They can not call a lawyer to demand the removal of their names nor can they demand a share of his meager profits because, as we have established, he is not a very good capitalist.It is left to the families of these fine men and women to pursue justice. It is not enough that wives and children and parents must attend funerals and empty closets of personal effects. They must now bear the injustice of a political activist aligning their loved ones with a belief and for a cause that they had no opportunity to endorse or dispute.

Cindy Sheehan may be the most well-known grave robber right now, but she is not the only one. People like Dan Frasier, Gael Murphy, and many more are making money and (excuse the pun) capitalizing on the sacrificial love of American soldiers and Marines.

How amazing would it be to live in a nation that wholeheartedly supports her troops and their mission? How incredible would it be to know that your countrymen, to a man, love and honor you for the sacrifices you make? How much easier would it be to approach the battlefield, knowing that those you defend know in their hearts every single day that your job is noble, it is amazing, it is honorable?

Someday, perhaps we will live in that country again. Hope springs eternal.

Combating the Moonbats: Times Square, May 19th

While Eagles nationwide were standing up to support our recruiters yesterday, GOE-NY had a special mission. They were countering antiwar leftists in Times Square. The moonbats were planning to show up and do what they called “Torture Theater,” or a “reenactment” of the “torture” that terrorist detainees are undergoing at Gitmo. Never mind that there IS no torture at Gitmo. Never mind that as we speak, three of our nation’s soldiers are undergoing the most horrific torture imaginable at the hands of the enemy. These antiwar leftists have no couth, no respect, no love for our soldiers in harm’s way.

That’s why GOE-NY had to shut them down.

Eagles representing five states–and from as far away as North Carolina–converged on Times Square yesterday to answer the threat, and Dan Maloney, GOE-NY Coordinator, had a preliminary report on the event.

It was a GREAT day in Times Square!

We performed the ORA portion of our activity on schedule and the recruiters were very interested in hearing about GOE. The Company Commander for the NY area was there and invited us to talk at one of their affairs. Dr. Rauol’s gracious delivery of heros were a big hit and the recruiters came out later to enjoy the spectacle of us facing off against the moonbats saying it was the first time in recent memory when they could venture outside during a demonstration at their location.

Then the REAL fun began!

The Moonbats finally showed up to stage their anti-Gitmo street theater and found that we had secured the ground and would not let them get more than a foothold on it. They had to split their forces between a small group at the narrow point of the traffic island away from the recruiting station and on a street corner a block away.

We totally overwhelmed the small contingent immediately to our front while a small group of ours infiltrated their street theater act and poked fun at their representation of Guantanamo. You will notice our infiltrators in photos wearing orange ‘Club Gitmo’ t-shirts with snarky blurbs on the back.

We had passersby chanting USA! with us, we greeted several Iraq veterans and current duty servicemen as they passed by, we met a lady from Australia and a Lebanese man living in Germany who cheered us on. It was just a wonderful and fun time for every one of us. We handed out hundreds of our flyer describing what we were doing there today and inviting people to New London and West Point.

The point at which the moonbats slunk away was when we chanted “Where’s your flag!” and then deployed a giant American flag while we sang America the Beautiful and Star Spangled Banner before reciting the pledge of allegiance.

In all the action lasted mainly from 11:00am to 4:30pm. Some over achievers (I’m looking at you Jim B.!) staked out the ground at 8am!

The beautiful and resourceful Urban Infidel wrote a report and posted lots of photos on her blog, as well as a slide show.
