This Blog Is Moving

Greetings. After this weekend, this Take Our Country Back Blog will be moving to the new web site. Too many conservatives are getting zapped by the intolerant dweebs of the Obama Goons and seeing that this editing platform is a free site, Blogger can do pretty much what it feels like doing. Hence, I now have a paid site and will be migrating the last 1400+ posts shortly.

So, one day, you just may click this page somewhere and it will show up as "private". It has been fun but the intolerant Czarbie Goon Squads are brain dead idiots. They can come play at the new site which I OWN outright.

Soldiers allegedly killed by an Iraqi Army Soldier

In the light of recent and past Phony and Trumped Up media stories in regards to Iraq actions, I present this report...first from Official Sources. MNF-Iraq

RELEASE No. 20080105-04
January 5, 2008

Soldiers allegedly killed by an Iraqi Army Soldier
Multinational Division-North PAO

TIKRIT, Iraq - Two US Soldiers killed during a combined Iraqi Army and CF operation in Ninewah province on Dec. 26, were allegedly shot by an Iraqi Soldier.

For reasons that are as yet unknown, at least one Iraqi Army Soldier allegedly opened fire killing Capt. Rowdy Inman and Sgt. Benjamin Portell, both of whom were assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment. The incident occurred as US and Iraqi Army Soldiers were conducting operations to establish a combat outpost. Three other US Soldiers and one civilian interpreter were wounded in the attack.

The Iraqi Soldier who allegedly opened fire fled the scene but was identified by other Iraqi Army personnel and was then apprehended. Two Iraqi Army Soldiers are now being held in connection with the incident.

Coalition and Iraqi investigations into the incident are underway.

A Jihadi Dirty Bomb Will Be Of Pakistani Origin

From Jihad Watch:
A turmoil-hit Pakistan may stress that fears about its nuclear arsenal falling into the hands of Islamic extremists are "totally unfounded and nonsense".

But the scare is not so much about the safety of the actual nuclear weapons or warheads, as about radicals getting access to enriched uranium, nuclear components and know-how.

"Attempts by Al-Qaida to acquire dirty bombs are quite well-established," said a senior official, who in the past has been linked with India's nuclear weapon programme.

Jihadi outfits armed with 'dirty bombs' -- basically radiological dispersal devices combining radioactive material with suitable explosives -- are what 'nightmare scenarios' are often made up of. [...] (Read the rest)

Since AQ has pretty much given up the fight in Iraq except for leaving behind the "cover the withdrawal forces" and moved on to Pakistan, it is time to act in Pakistan.

Rest Easy, Friend, Patriot...Major Andrew Olmsted

My friend, fellow soldier and blogging soldier, Major Andrew Olmsted, was KIA yesterday in Iraq.

He was killed defending a village under threats from rabid murdering Men of Peace. The village was primarily composed of innocent women and children. So brave these Men of Peace are.

Some time ago, he composed a blog entry to be posted upon his death. That post is at Obsidian Wings and at his own web site, Andrew Olmsted.

Rest in peace, Soldier.

I include a poem located in the comments section of Confederate Yankee.

The soldier stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"

The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Damn, how I hate Islamic murdering shits.

The Hillary-Obama Iowan Slug Fest Didn't Matter?

The Hillary campaign pumped millions into the Iowa Caucus campaign with Hillary even going door to door, shaking hands and traipsing through the snow and ice that we all saw the pictures of. The infamous picture from the Drudge Report told the tale.

As The United States reels from the longest presidential campaign in our history, the Iowa Caucus is over and Hillary has suffered her first major defeat and setback. The third place showing, albeit by .3% or so, is still third place.

The slug fest between Hillary and Obama as seen in the DNC Debates and in the news rooms, print media and the internet has been vicious and Obama has seen nothing yet. He dared beat Hillary in the first round. Although Hillary has the highest negatives of any candidate in history, she was running on her husbands coattails and she was convinced that the democrats across the country wanted her and her alone to be the President and all those other people were window dressing.

With a third place booking under her belt, she now claims the following:
On board the Clinton plane -- After pouring millions of dollars and over a year of effort into a win in Iowa, senior staffers for Democrat Hillary Clinton now say the state isn't that important after all.

"The worst thing would be to over count Iowa and its importance," said chief strategist Mark Penn, just hours after the New York Senator finished in a disappointing third place, behind Illinois Sen. Barack Obama and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards.
Let me guess. It was all window dressing and she has Obama and Edwards right where she wants them. Kind of reminds me of what Osama Bin Laden said some time ago.

With her saying, through her aides naturally, (plausible deniability), that Iowa really doesn't matter, she has insulted all of the Iowans...they really don't matter. We can only hope that America remembers what Hillary once said of the Iowan Caucus and the Iowan people:
"The Iowa caucuses are such a unique part of American democracy. I am so impressed at how seriously everyone here in Iowa takes it," she said at a recent event in Clarion. Iowans caucus for "our hopes and the possibilities America should have again."
They are serious but insignificant. Good job Hillary...obsess much?

I wonder how significant Iowa would have been if she had won the caucus?

An Obligatory Post On Ron Paul In Iowa

MAJOR Hat Tip to Redstate. The beginning of the post threw me for a loop momentarily and I was soon relieved that my former impression of the contributors over there are still favorable. Just for a few moments, I thought someone had slipped some LSD into the various drinks of choice they partake of. This is the Headline that drew me in like a lamb to slaughter:

Media Conspiracy Refuses to Cover Almost 30,000 votes for Ron Paul

OMG!! Go to Redstate and read the entire post. You will see what we and others have been saying for a very long time. As for myself, I have the disadvantage of having known all about the Fraud That Is Paul for at least 14 years.
As of this moment, the zionist neocons in the media are claiming that Ron Paul has finished next to last in the Iowa Caucuses, and that he is trailing the imperialist Bush lackey pig Mike Huckabee by almost 30,000 votes. However, we at RedState have learned from reliable sources that there is a media conspiracy afoot to not report votes for Ron Paul! That's correct, although Ron Paul actually received over 40,000 votes, we have reason to believe that the corporate media is simply refusing to report on the last 30,000 votes that Ron Paul received so that they do not have to mention Ron Paul's name over their capitalist pig airwaves anymore. [...]

Good God Almighty...LOL!!

I used to drink quite heavily and stopped in 1999. THAT paragraph ALMOST sent me to the store.

The Last (ya sure) Ioway Post

(see previous Iowa Caucus posts at ANO here and here. Also see Snooper's blogs of choice for comments on the Iowa Caucus here.)

After the BTR show with Melanie Morgan and then Jenn of the Jungle, I surfed the networks and cable news and searched (not hard to do) the internet for the Iowa Caucus bloggers. Good thing I have a reader...saved hours and hours o searching.

Captain's Quarters has two posts up, one for Democrats and one for Republicans.
Hillary Clinton has run into a serious buzz saw on her way to the coronation. [...]

[...] Fred Thompson and John McCain, at this moment, still struggle for third place. McCain just needed a significant showing for his upcoming battle in New Hampshire, but Thompson needed a third-place finish just to keep his credibility alive. [...]
In the Washington Wire, they mention that Ron Paul won over Rudy by 3 to 1. So what? Rudy stayed OUT of Iowa...he pretty much has the Big Coastal states to play in. Ron Paul campaigned in Iowa and Rudy did not. Without campaigning, Rudy beat out the lower tier Democrats whaich DID campaign in Iowa. Ron Paul's "win" is still a loss. He didn't place.

Michelle Malkin warns that there may be lawyers about because of the record numbers of democrat and republican voters. Posts were abandoned and some didn't vote due to the time it would have required to stay and vote and there was no place to sit.

Ray Robison is pissed off at the media and he has good cause. The media has the usual blah blah blah and the sometimes inane additional blah blah blah stuff going. Then again, what would we expect from such impish cretins that have long ago abandoned the ethics in journalism? If one were to read links I placed in this paragraph back to back, an amazing picture is drawn. Let me know what you see.

Over at memorandum, there are skads and heaps of places to go to read a countless amount of inputs, bloviating, whining and caterwauling about one thing or another and that is a good and a bad thing.

Obama seems to think that he is the next President already. This just shows the lack of experience. He says that one caucus has given him a Mandate For Change. I one way it has. Iowans don't want Czarina or the Breck Girl or the others that have dropped out today due to poor performance. The poor thing thinks he can end the War In Iraq and he bloviated all about it, giving hope and energy to the enemy ibn the process of accepting the coronation of Iowa. He wants to end the world's poverty and genocide. What he didn't say was just how in the hell he is going to accomplish all of that and who is going to pay the bill on that tab.

I now agree with SonLit...Obama may not be as evil as Hillary is but he is more sinister, ignorant and dangerous to America. Hillary is just plain evil.

Huckabee had quite a good round of sound bytes as well but they are not the warning flag signs of danger that Obama was rambling out.

The Ioway Caucus Post...

Well? Were we right or what?

So far, at 0115 hours EST...100% of the precincts for the DNC and 87% of the precincts for the GOP reporting in...

GOP: Huckabee; 34.4%. Romney; 25.2%. Thompson; 13.4%. McCain; 13.1%. Paul; 10%. Giuliani; 3.4%. Hunter; 0.4%. Tancredo; 0.00%.

It is Good that Thompson came in third. This is a must for him. Now the media will HAVE to at least give him some recognition and perhaps the whiners about the "fire in the belly" crap will STFU now. The "fire in the belly" Mitt didn't win. Fred Thompson is doesn't need "fire in the belly"...heartburn is not a requirement. I wish Duncan had placed better but he doesn't have Paultards and for good reason.

In the end, Fred will take the nomination and Duncan will be the running mate. Ron Paul is a flake and you must GO HERE to witness Cape Boy matching wits with man in a Mouse Suit arguing about Ron Paul.

DNC: Obama; 37.6%. Edwards; 29.7%. Clinton; 29.5%. Richardson; 2.1%. Biden; 0.9%. Others; 0.1%. Dodd; 0.00%. Gravel; 0.00%. Kucinich; 0.00%.

Out of the Leftinistra running, the ONLY ones remotely qualified to run the country are Biden, Kucinich and Dodd. Imagine that. Collectively, they only got 3% of the Ioway votes. I find it interesting that DNC "others" scored higher than the Chief Nut Kucinich and Gravel. This shows us that the Democratic Party has just about reached its self-implosion zone. Seriously.

Watch the arrows fly in the DNC contests...more so than the GOP.

Tonights' results were pretty much predicted here .

Redstate calls it I-DAY!!

All eyes are looking towards Iowa! Why is that? And, who decided it and when? What's the mystery behind the Caucii across the country? At any rate:
[...] For over a year, there have been speeches, debates, polls, spin, prognosticating, spin, gladhanding, media coverage, and more spin. Today, for the first time in this year's election, votes that matter will be cast and counted. [...]
NY Sun:
[...] For Senator Clinton, second choice matters. One of the former first lady's top obstacles heading into tonight's Iowa caucuses could be the peculiar nature of the vote itself, in which supporters of a candidate who fails to reach a 15% threshold in each precinct must turn to another contender. [...]
And that will make Czarina furious, won't it?

NY Sun:
Iowa Republicans will caucus this evening in the wake of a startling turnaround in the electoral fortunes of John McCain. A new poll from Pew Research places the Arizona senator, whose chances have been written off repeatedly in the last 12 months, as the national Republican front-runner for the first time in a year. [...]
Methinks folks are starting to wake up and realize just how important the November elections are going to be for the very survival of this country as a Federal Republic on which it was formed and intended to remain.

Somewhere down the line, like in FDR's Raw Deal Socialist Hay Day Era, something went awry and we need to fix this before the die-hard Socialist Democrats and Socialist Republicans screw it up but good.

The NY Sun is all over this stuff:
[...] Looking buoyant and rejuvenated by new polls showing him atop the Republican presidential field, Senator McCain of Arizona returned to Iowa yesterday to see if he can pull out a respectable showing in a state his campaign had all but written off. "We are now obviously down to the wire," Mr. McCain said, moments after a supporter, Senator Brownback of Kansas, announced the news about the recent surveys. [...]
OH! The agony of it all! (cutesy outtakes from the Presidential Aspirants...damn joke) What a freak show this has turned into.

Front Page Magazine:
With the primary and caucus season finally - and mercifully - upon us, an intriguing picture is coming into focus, one that will either continue a recent pattern or return us to an earlier period in American history.

On the Democratic side, the polls show a trio of senators - Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards - leading nationally or in early-voting states. Senators Joe Biden and Chris Dodd and Governor Bill Richardson trail not-so-close behind.

On the Republican side, the polls paint a very different picture. Two governors and a mayor - Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani - lead a pack of senators and congressmen. [...]
LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS! OH! MY!! I am way past being underwhelmed by the laughing stock political sideshow. All we need now is for the Bearded Lady to show up and spit flames and watching her beard flame out. Is 2008 over yet?

Naturally, we can always ask Aunt Sophie...I am not sure about reposting rules at FPM so you will have to go there and take the test as to which political slant you bend with. It just might surprise you.
Dear Aunt Sophie,

I always vote in primaries but this year I'm having a terrible time deciding whom to vote for. I've registered as a Democrat, but I think I'm more of an independent since I don't hate right-wingers all that much. How can I figure out how to vote?

Uncommitted unaffiliated non-ideological free thinker

Dear Thinker,

For some reason, Aunt Sophie has been deluged with letters like yours lately. Since she is unable to respond to so many requests individually she has devised this questionnaire to help independents like yourself with the arduous task of making up their minds.

Good luck and God bless.

Answer each question (1) Strongly agree (2) Agree somewhat or (3) Could be persuaded to agree [...] (I wish I had thought of this)

The Leftinistra Cringe As The Conservative Tsunami Swells

Some CapQ readers have pointed to the latest numbers from Zogby in Iowa as a harbinger of a Fred Thompson surprise for tomorrow's caucuses. In their daily tracking poll, conducted by traditional telephone surveys rather than on-line polls, Zogby shows a significant bump in support over the last three days -- enough to tie Fred with John McCain for third place:

Al Gore and Other Global Warming Hysterics Unavailable For Comment

"A hard freeze expected in parts of Central Florida early Thursday will bring a chance of snow flurries in Daytona Beach and other areas as temperatures drop into the teens and low 20s."
There are also reports of more of the same.

Daytona, FL has a history of warm weather and this comes as quite a shock to the area residents.

"There will be clouds that are similar to the clouds that are generated in the Great Lakes states when we have lake-effect snow," Local 6 meteorologist Larry Mowry said. "I'm going to call for the possibility of snow flurries early Thursday morning near the coastline."
The local-folk are stocking up for the duration and there is apparently no relief in sight.

"Mowry said residents in Daytona Beach, Titusville, Palm Bay and Melbourne may see the snow flurries Thursday."
The people of Ocala, FL are battening down the hatches and just may have to close the interstate.

The hard freeze warning was issued for areas north of Interstate 4 and counties located south of I-4 were under a general freeze warning.

Temperatures were expected to drop to 19 degrees in parts of Ocala early Thursday.
Never before have these Floridians been so viciously attacked.

"There is really a bite in the air," Mowry said. "With those strong winds out of the northwest, we are not going to warm up a lot Wednesday."
More news at 10, if the area survives the storm.

Al Gore was unavailable for comment.

That is all.

Many of the freeze warnings will begin at 1 a.m. Thursday and end at 9 a.m.
Brace yourselves and render assistance when asked.

Thank you and good luck

The Kennedys and Their Love of Communists

The Kennedys are just plain treasonous. It must run in their blood. Back in July, we brought you some background on the propensities of the Kennedy Traitors towards communism and other anti-American activity. We linked to this place and utilized data from here as well. Just a few moments ago, Jamie Wearing Fool popped up with this story here:
ROBERT Kennedy Jr. has reportedly become an adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin on cleaning up the environment. Kennedy, now in Aspen with his family, is said to have offered Putin his expertise in cleaning up the terrible pollution in Russia during a trip to Moscow last year. The founder of Riverkeeper also told restaurateur Nello Balan he's interested in running for Sen. Hillary Clinton's seat when it becomes vacant.
JWF adds this link to further your studies to the treasonous Kennedy hacks.

What is up with this? Have they bought Hillary's victory so soon?

Breaking: Republicans Rebounding

Well? Haven't we been tellin' y'all?

From the Captains' Quarters just a few moments ago.

Surveys in 2006 saw an erosion in Republican Party affiliation that opened the gap between the major parties from 1.6% to over 6%, favoring Democrats, by the end of the year. Twelve months later, the performance of the Democrats while controlling Congress has almost completely reversed the trend. Rolling into 2008, Rasmussen shows that Republicans have their highest share of affiliation since January 2006 and only trail Democrats by two points... [...]

[...] The realignment comes at a "startling" time, Rasmussen notes. The report also suggests this as a reaction to the performance of Democrats in Congress. Nancy Pelosi has only a 38% approval rating, compared to 49% at the start of the year, suggesting that independents have lost confidence in her leadership, and possibly some Democrats. They note the sharp increase in December as a corollary to the improving confidence in the war on terror, which also suggests that the electorate may exact a price on Democrats for their strident defeatism throughout most of 2007. [...]

[...] After losing their first national election in four cycles in 2006, it looks like Republicans could rebound in 2008. They have the momentum, and they have closed the gap almost to where it was in November 2004. A few more months of Democratic incompetence in Congress could close the gap altogether.

Go read the rest. Like SonLit said, we are in for a ride!

"Sudden Jihad Syndrome"

Pat Dollard has a must-read piece here: check it out - your life may depend on it.
[...] "Oftentimes, these attackers are dismissed as suffering from mental health issues, but their own words and writings reveal an affiliation with Islamic supremacy or an affinity for Islamic extremism," said the report, which was distributed to federal, state and local law enforcement in Texas. "As a result, law enforcement should not be too quick to judge their attacks as having no nexus to terrorism." [...]

SFBert? Can you hear us?

Maybe someone should hire us at A Newt One. It seems like the "MSM" (chuckle-chuckle snort-snort) is always behind us. We have been saying this for nearly forever.
AS 2007 drew to a close, embarrassed journalists sought to play down American military successes and avoided questioning Democratic presidential contenders about their predictions of inevitable failure in Iraq.

Magically, Iraq disappeared from the headlines - except on those rare occasions when a problem could be reported. At the close of a year of stunning progress, media stories on New Year's Eve leapt to report that 2007 had been the deadliest year for US troops. (read the rest)

Move America Forward...Slaying Moonbats

In several dispatches for Melanie Morgan of Move America Forward, one can see why they are targets of hate and visceral implosions from the anti-Americanist groups of various colors and stripes...mostly yellow, dingy and cowardly.

It seems as though Cindy The Shameful Scam Media Whore Sheehan was booed and properly put into her place at the Rose Bowl Parade. The wench couldn't even get arrested...poor thing.

This Isn't Good News For Obama

Kucinich is obviously bowing out seeing that he hasn't a chance...like his pal Ron Paul.
Representative Dennis Kucinich urged his Iowa followers today to select Senator Barack Obama as their second choice at the caucuses on Thursday if his support is not strong enough to be viable in the 1,781 precincts across the state.

"Senator Obama and I have one thing in common: Change", Mr. Kucinich said in a statement today. (Read the rest)
And we all know what that change is, don't we? Islamic Socialism. I know they don't advocate that but it is due to their ignorance of the Jihadi Threat that they inadvertently, due to BDS, support it in the long haul.

RCP has some squigglies to look at here.

In other news:
Breaking: Kucinich urges supporters to make Obama second choice

Rep. Dennis Kucinich, an antiwar Democratic presidential candidate, just announced he is urging his supporters to make Sen. Barack Obama their second choice during Thursday's Iowa caucus.

This will give Obama a boost in some precincts because the caucus rules (explained in my story in today's paper) require candidates to meet a 15 percent or higher viability threshold. If they don't, the supporters for that candidate must reorganize to join another candidate.

Kucinich, who failed to reach the viability threshold in 2004, let his supporters go to then-Sen. John Edwards. As Obama and Edwards battle with Sen. Hillary Clinton for the top spot in Iowa, the antiwar vote could help Obama Thursday night.

"This is obviously an 'Iowa-only' recommendation, as Sen. Obama and I are competing in the New Hampshire primary next Tuesday where I want to be the first choice of New Hampshire voters," Kucinich said in a statement. (read the rest)
Please note that the term "antiwar democrat" is actually meant to be anti-military anti-Americanist. Read that as socialist. The profile is all too telling.

If I was Obama, I wouldn't want a socialist UFO spotter and MacClaine occultist supporter supporting me. Kucinich threw in with Edwards in 2004 and how did that end up?

Outlaw Islam

View Current Signatures - Sign the Petition

Whereas Islam is a mercenary institution;
  • They ask you (O Muhammad) about the spoils of war. Say: "The spoils are for Allâh and the Messenger." So fear Allâh and adjust all matters of difference among you, and obey Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad), if you are believers. Qur'an 8:1
  • And know that whatever of war-booty that you may gain, verily one-fifth (1/5th) of it is assigned to Allâh, and to the Messenger, and to the near relatives [of the Messenger (Muhammad)], (and also) the orphans, Al-Masâkin (the poor) and the wayfarer, if you have believed in Allâh and in that which We sent down to Our slave (Muhammad) on the Day of criterion (between right and wrong), the Day when the two forces met (the battle of Badr) - And Allâh is Able to do all things. Qur'an 8:41
  • Allâh has promised you abundant spoils that you will capture, and He has hastened for you this, and He has restrained the hands of men from you, that it may be a sign for the believers, and that He may guide you to a Straight Path. Qur'an 48:20
And whereas Islam declared global war against disbelievers;
  • And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone [in the whole of the world ]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allâh), then certainly, Allâh is All-Seer of what they do. 8:39
  • Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. 9:29
And whereas Islam has prosecuted war upon us, attacking and destroying the World Trade Towers and damaging the Pentagon;

And whereas Islam denies the inalienable right to worship or not as we choose;
  • And whoever seeks a religion other than Islâm, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers. Qur'an 3:85
And whereas Islam denies the sanctity of the lives of Kuffar and declares open season upon us;
  • Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 8, Number 387:
    Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah." [...]
  • Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 53, Number 386:
    Narrated Jubair bin Haiya:
[...]Our Prophet, the Messenger of our Lord, has ordered us to fight you till you worship Allah Alone or give Jizya (i.e. tribute); and our Prophet has informed us that our Lord says:-- "Whoever amongst us is killed (i.e. martyred), shall go to Paradise to lead such a luxurious life as he has never seen, and whoever amongst us remain alive, shall become your master."[...]

Now therefore the undersigned citizens of the United States of America demand that, in recognition of the fact that Islam is an instrument of war, not a religion, the Constitution be amended to specifically exclude Islam from the umbrella of first amendment protection.

Further, that legislation be enacted and enforced to outlaw the public practice & propagation of Islam including but not limited to the operation of Mosques & madrassas, and to exclude Muslims from immigration and naturalization.

Further, that legislation be enacted and enforced to prohibit Muslims from being admitted to the United States for business, religion, tourism, education and all other purposes whatsoever excepting diplomacy and medical treatment in extreme cases. {A true copy of this petition has been posted at http://snooper.wordpress.com/2007/12/31/outlaw-islam/ including active hyperlinks to the evidentiary material. Fred Thompson Makes His Move

The Libosphere has been relatively quiet about this Thompson flanking maneuver and for good cause. They cannot refute some key comments. I have been waiting for some of them but they aren't around. I wonder what that means.

The Corner has transcribed that which I have heard in the video from Iowa:
[...] You know, when I'm asked which of the current group of Democratic candidates I prefer to run against, I always say it really doesn't matter...these days all those candidates, all the Democratic leaders, are one and the same. They're all NEA-MoveOn.org-ACLU-Michael Moore Democrats. They've allowed these radicals to take control of their party and dictate their course.

So this election is important not just to enact our conservative principles. This election is important to salvage a once-great political party from the grip of extremism and shake it back to its senses. It's time to give not just Republicans but independents, and, yes, good Democrats a chance to call a halt to the leftward lurch of the once-proud party of working people.

So in seeking the nomination of my own party, I want to say something a little unusual. I am asking my fellow Republicans to vote for me not only for what I have to say to them, but for what I have to say to the members of the other party - the millions of Democrats who haven't left the Democratic party so much as their party's national leadership has left them. [...]
Now THAT is The Fred, right there! There are a herd more Fredisms that need to be brought out in the video which can be seen here or here.

Fred Thompson has donned his Mission Face and in Reaganesque seriousness, has appealed to all voters which are sick and tired of the barb-slinging fools we have witnessed for way too long now.
But we have here a serious man, making a serious case - and doing so in the context of a campaign that has otherwise descended into mere caterwauling.

Even at this late hour, I wouldn't count Fred out.
Exactly so.

Massive New Offensive Planned Against Al Qaeda

With the announcements over the last few days in regards to Al-Qaeda being 75% depleted in Iraq and OBL issuing whining and offensive diatribes in the forms of fruitless warnings, Pat Dollard brings us this:
The Multi-National Force and the Iraqi army and police are preparing to launch a large-scale offensive to crack down on al-Qaeda Organization north of Baghdad in two weeks' time, a high-ranking U.S. army official said on Sunday.

"In 2008, joint U.S.-Iraqi forces would stage large-scale operation to crack down on al-Qaeda organization in Diala river basin, Mosul and along the area the network was operating," Admiral Gregory Smith, the U.S. army communications officer, said in a press conference held in Baghdad.

The official declined to give further information about the size of troops launching the offensive for secrecy reasons. [...]
I wonder what lame announcement the lame-duck OBL will release next.

Democratic Voters' Fervor Stirs Republican Worries

WSJ: Democratic Voters' Fervor Stirs Republican Worries
As presidential hopefuls from both parties rally support across Iowa ahead of Thursday's caucuses, Democratic voters are showing greater fervor for the race than their Republican counterparts, a difference that could have repercussions throughout the 2008 campaign.

At its simplest, there is a political energy gap. Democrats appear to be more fired up about their party nominating contest than are Republicans. Democrats in Iowa and New Hampshire have been turning out at rallies in greater numbers than Republicans and giving more money to candidates. In Iowa, polls indicate Democrats will be attending the Thursday night caucuses in record numbers.

"There seems to be a little more juice on the Democratic side," says Republican pollster Bill McInturff. [...]
There is a real simple answer to that. I know I am merely a lowly blogger...a citizen journalist and all but, I have been around the pike a bit and this ain't my first rodeo, either. If the Republic front-runners aspiring to the office of the Presidency are nervous, it is because we don't like them. Many have said that Fred has stated that he "doesn't want to run for President". That gives the impression that the others do. Half of that premise is true.

The statement was, once again, taken out of context, plain and simple. At The Campaign Spot, the ENTIRE exchange is readily available and Fred, with Snooper paraphrasing, said it like this: (remember, this is my take)
"I don't want to run for President just to run for President and say that I am the President when I get elected. I want the job because I can be better at it than a guy that wants to run for President for the sake of power and the accolades, glory and stature. I don't have a legacy to make nor do I worry about my reputation. This country is in trouble and I am the best man for the job."
Click the link and give TCS the traffic and read the whole exchange.

Well done, soldiers: Four-star general salutes U.S. troops

AMEN, General! AMEN!

A message from General George W Casey, Jr:
I have just returned from a holiday visit to our soldiers serving around the globe. I can report that everywhere I visited - Korea, Japan, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Iraq - the men and women of your all-volunteer Army are performing magnificently. I am proud of their courage, their competence and their commitment both to the ideals that make this country great and to making a difference in our world.

It is useful to remember why they are deployed. We have been at war for more than six years - a war against a global terrorist network that is fixed on destroying our way of life. They attacked us. This foe will not go away nor will it give up easily. We are engaged in a long war, and the stakes are high. Our soldiers are deployed to defeat our enemies before they can attack us at home.

During this war, so far the third longest in our history, the men and women of your Army have demonstrated valor, endured countless hardships, and made great sacrifices. We have lost more than 3,000 from our ranks, with many more wounded. The awards they have earned only begin to reflect their accomplishments and their tremendous bravery on the battlefield.

Our warriors and their families have borne the stress and burden of war for us; they have done the hard work, and their sacrifices should not go unnoticed. Their efforts continue to make our way of life possible, and they deserve our nation's thanks.

In every generation, when faced with difficult challenges, Americans have risen to the occasion. They have answered our nation's call to service without the benefit of knowing where the path might lead. Today, we have over 2.3 million men and women in uniform, less than 1% of our population. The willingness of our volunteers to sacrifice to preserve our way of life and build a better future for others remains this nation's greatest strength.

I could not be more proud to be a soldier today, standing shoulder to shoulder with these incredible men and women and their families. They are the strength of our Army and, together with their comrades-in-arms from the other services, they are the strength of this nation.

They deserve our thanks and our support for their dedication and for choosing a most noble work: protecting our nation and enabling others to live free.

May God bless and keep them and their families throughout 2008.

[Casey is chief of staff of the United States Army.]
Exactly so.

Iraqi's Celebrate First Safe New Year in Decades

This is bad news folks. What are we going to do now?
2008 arrived in a less-violent Baghdad, and residents said it was the first real party they had seen in years.

At the stroke of midnight, exuberant locals fired into the air with automatic rifles, sending red tracer fire streaking over the city, as fireworks lit up the sky.

While the city is still far from peaceful and many of the festive gatherings had a tentative feel, many said it was a happier occasion than they could have dared to hope just a few months ago. [...]
Poor Iraqis. They have to celebrate in relative peace. Such a shame. This may be due in part to this news and that damn General Petraeus ought to be ashamed of himself for implementing a successful campaign proving the Leftinistra wrong.

Violent civilian deaths in Iraq in December were down 75 percent from a year ago, new figures released on Monday showed as Iraqis partied in the streets of some parts of the capital Baghdad to bring in the New Year.

A year ago, the scenes of unrestrained revelry would have been unthinkable in a country racked by savage sectarian violence that by the most conservative estimates has killed tens of thousands of people and displaced some 4 million.

According to figures compiled by the interior, health and defense ministries, 481 civilians died violently in Iraq in December, a 75 percent drop from the 1,930 who were killed in December 2006, when the country was on the brink of civil war. [...]

Damn the luck! All this Good News coming out of Iraq has out media in a tizzy and is so maddening to the anti-Americanists!!

I wonder how ReidCo and PelosiCo are taking this news.
