This Blog Is Moving

Greetings. After this weekend, this Take Our Country Back Blog will be moving to the new web site. Too many conservatives are getting zapped by the intolerant dweebs of the Obama Goons and seeing that this editing platform is a free site, Blogger can do pretty much what it feels like doing. Hence, I now have a paid site and will be migrating the last 1400+ posts shortly.

So, one day, you just may click this page somewhere and it will show up as "private". It has been fun but the intolerant Czarbie Goon Squads are brain dead idiots. They can come play at the new site which I OWN outright.

Fight For What You Believe In

My Dad used to tell us kids when we were growing up and then on into adult life the following:

“You must be willing to stand up and fight for what you believe in your heart to be right. If you don’t, you will automatically fall for and support that which you know in your heart to be wrong.”

He was right, naturally.

When I was on TVC a short while ago, someone mentioned this song and I felt compelled to post it here:

True, so true…

Now Daddy didn’t like trouble, but if it came along
Everyone that knew him knew which side that he’d be on
He never was a hero, or this county’s shinin’ light
But you could always find him standing up
For what he thought was right

He’d say you’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything
You’ve got to be your own man not a puppet on a string
Never compromise what’s right and uphold your family name
You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything

Now we might have been better off or owned a bigger house
If Daddy had done more givin’ in or a little more backing down
But we always had plenty just living his advice
Whatever you do today you’ll have to sleep with tonight

He’d say you’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything
You’ve got to be your own man not a puppet on a string
Never compromise what’s right and uphold your family name
You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything

Now I know that things are different than they were in Daddy’s days
But I still believe what makes a man really hasn’t changed
You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything
You’ve got to be your own man not a puppet on a string
Never compromise what’s right and uphold your family name
You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything
You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything

BE THERE!!

How many times, we the Silent Majority, have sat on our rear ends watching in dismay all of the foolish antics of the “anti-war protestors” march around and acting well…silly? How many times have we said to ourselves, “This too shall pass”?

What I see today is reminiscent of the years of yore, ie, the Vietnam era. Back then, while we the Silent Majority sat around doing nothing, the Flower Children of yore have had offspring and were taught the ideals of yesteryear and have become our leaders today. Isn’t that something to be proud of? No, it is not.

Are we going to sit around again and watch the same thing repeat itself with the likes of the ingrate, fool and traitor Hanoi Jane, now dubbed Jihad Jane? Are we going to sit back and allow the desecration and watch as the vandals, NAY!, jackals deface our memorials of the Heros of our GREAT nation?

Rally to DC on 3/17/07 and protect our memorials and make a stand in far greater numbers than the jackals can amass!

Arise and be counted!!

On Walter Reed

What have we here? Two men, Army Maj. Gen. George W. Weightman and now Secretary of the Army Francis Harvey have resigned amid accusations of less than poor and healthy conditions at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center for our veterans and wounded military members in the Global War on Terror.

Could this be an issue we veterans have been stating for YEARS? Could it be? Could it be that FINALLY, the Leftinistra will be EXPOSED for their cutting the budgets of Veteran’s Affairs? I surely hope so.

I say that the Leftinistra “socialist give-away” programs should be sliced and diced and reroute those funds BACK to the Veterans Administration…PERIOD!!

We shall see what we shall see.

One can only hope so…

The Battle of Bagdad
The Battle of Bagdad
Friday, March 02, 2007 4:05 PM

An excellent article written by a Patriot from The Victory Caucus.

In its entirety:

“WITH all of the mud-sling ing on Capitol Hill, you could almost forget the gun-slinging in Baghdad.

As Democrats, Iraqi insurgents and terrorists all struggle to prevent an American win, it’s hard to get an accurate sense of Iraq nowadays.

When in doubt, ask a soldier.

My best source in Baghdad offered a soberly optimistic assessment at odds with the “Gotcha!” negativity in Washington. He doesn’t claim that success is guaranteed. But he believes in his head, heart and soul that we’ve got a fighting chance.

And I believe him.

I took the temperature of other officers, as well. They agree unanimously that the administration made terrible mistakes from which we and the Iraqis are still recovering. But not one of these soldiers is ready to quit.

Here are the key points I’ve heard from those I trust:

* Of the five additional U.S. brigades headed for Baghdad, only one is in place, with the second starting to arrive. Yet the city is already quieter and safer. The terrorists continue to detonate their bombs - with suicidal fanatics targeting the innocent - but sectarian killings (death-squad hits) have dropped from over 50 each night down to single digits.

* The tactic of stationing U.S. units and their Iraqi counterparts down in the Baghdad ‘hoods is already paying off. (It should have been used from the outset - instead of hunkering down on massive bases. But better late than never.) The effort has triggered a flood of intelligence tips: When citizens feel safe, they cooperate. And when they help us, our success compounds.

* U.S. commanders now have a lot of experience in Iraq. They’re not wide-eyed kids at the circus anymore. They understand there are no uniform, easy answers to Iraq’s violence and complex allegiances. As a senior officer put it, “Every neighborhood and city is unique, with their own challenges.”

I’ll leave it to The New York Times to betray our military secrets, and just say I’m very impressed by the insight shown by our brigade and battalion commanders these days.”

Amazingly, one can read the rest at The New York Post

Liberty

From a Friend at TVC

A friend of mine at the Victory Caucus has posted the following:

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”-Samuel Adams

Such a sad state of affairs when our countrymen are such cowards in the line of fire. I have also posted this at the unmoderated blog at GOP.com…mostly a waste of time, unless you want to see the Leftinistra in action.

Democracy?

Democracy…What Is It?
Democracy…What Is It?
Thursday, March 01, 2007 4:47 AM

This is my take…I am just an old warrior, a grunt…

Feel free to correct me and/or leave comments…I am all ears…

What is democracy? What is Liberty? We hear all kinds of references to both these days, don’t we? The terms get thrown away and I fear that the majority of Americans haven’t a clue, really, what either term means. We won’t even get into the terms Federal Republic or Democratic Republic and related terminology. According to the Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary, democracy has been given the defined as “government by the people; especially: rule of the majority”, among a few others. What does majority rule mean and why is that an important aspect of democracy? Is majority rule relevant? If so, then why? According to the same dictionary previously mentioned, majority rule has been given the definition as, “a political principle providing that a majority usually constituted by 50% plus one of an organized group will have the power to make decisions binding upon the whole.” Wow; such a gaggle of words. We can gather from the definitions of Democracy and Majority Rule that the principles derived from them pertain to a tool whereby decisions can be made and applied or enforced.

With that in mind, is Democracy a good thing or a bad thing? Consider this; you like strawberry milkshakes but the majority has voted and taken the decision as to whether you should like strawberry milkshakes under consideration. The majority votes that it will be vanilla milkshakes and the strawberry milkshakes will no longer be available. The same process can be applied to every aspect of your life. Is this good or is it bad? For you, the strawberry milkshake drinker, it is bad. You are in the minority so you lose that particular choice. The decision process has been removed from you. For the majority, there is no more issue. Vanilla milkshakes it is. That “sounds” a little like tyranny, doesn’t it? Does this mean that Democracy is a form of tyranny?

Yes, it is. However, this form of tyranny is an elected type of tyranny. What then, is tyranny? It is back to the dictionary for a definition, “oppressive power exerted by government.” Really? We just had an election and the majority voted for vanilla milkshakes. The majority rules in a Democratic society so why is this considered to be tyrannical? This issue isn’t as simple as some would lead us to believe.

The Father of our Constitution, James Madison had this to say about a pure Democracy, “there is nothing to check the inducement to sacrifice the weaker party or the obnoxious individual.” So, then, we may gather that a Democracy, in its purest form can lead to tyranny. So, is Democracy good then? Ask John Adams. He had this gem to express, “Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts and murders itself. There was never a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.”

Other wise men have made observations about democracy and several have compared democracy to a republic and have determined that the differences between the two are similar to the differences between chaos and order. Isn’t that a wondrous commentary to ponder? People of the world and world leaders prattle on about Democracy and all they want is tyranny, chaos and order? This can sound rather contradictory can it not? Why would other peoples want this?

You see, our Founding Fathers were really smart men. They had lived through various forms of government and watched many come and go. They knew the pitfalls and the snares and the traps. Unfortunately, our modern leaders have lost their way.

Our Founding Fathers had every intention on protecting the people of the new Nation of America. They did not want a tyrannical form of government. They did not want a king. They did not want a dictator. They intended to create a republican form of government. We will need to define this form of government so, it is back to the dictionary, “a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law.” This is a far cry from Democracy is it not?

Personally, I don’t know why our politicians in this country as well as others make a big deal over Democracy. It is certainly superior to Socialism or Communism but we will discuss those issues another day. Would it not be better to spread our Founding Fathers’ dream and experiment? Yes it would. However, we would have to return to it in order to proclaim it and spread the good news around.

That brings us to Liberty. What is Liberty? It is the “freedom to do as one pleases (anarchy) and quality or state of being free and free from arbitrary or despotic control.” Our form of government as envisioned by our Founding Fathers was a Federal Republic, ruling over the “various states” and ensuring continuity and protection from foreign and domestic enemies.

It was a combination of Democracy, Tyranny, Republican, Anarchy and Liberty. Combine them all into one form and you achieve a Federal Republic where the PEOPLE govern and the politicians carry out the demands of the PEOPLE, not the other way around. The people are free to CHANGE the government at will. (remember that) Combining these five elements and deriving law and order, a healthy society will emerge.

Today, in America, the politicians have become the governing body and “We The People” are their serfs. We have become a form of government our Founding Fathers feared the most. The people are no longer the ruling body.

So the might aircraft carrier is being decommissioned and will be turned into razor blades. OK. Fine. Why then, did Senator Ted Kennedy have the Navy paint the bloody thing to the tune of $3M for the Big Show in Boston?

If he cared so much about the poor and entitlement programs, why waste $3M to paint razor blades?

Just curious

No sir. This is not good news:

Pakistan makes a deal with the TalibanBy Syed Saleem Shahzad

KARACHI - The Pakistani establishment has made a deal with the Taliban through a leading Taliban commander that will extend Islamabad’s influence into southwestern Afghanistan and significantly strengthen the resistance in its push to capture Kabul.

One-legged Mullah Dadullah will be Pakistan’s strongman in a corridor running from the Afghan provinces of Zabul, Urzgan, Kandahar and Helmand across the border into Pakistan’s Balochistan province, according to both Taliban and al-Qaeda contacts Asia Times Online spoke to. Using Pakistani territory and with Islamabad’s support, the Taliban will be able safely to move men, weapons and supplies into southwestern Afghanistan.

The deal with Mullah Dadullah will serve Pakistan’s interests in reestablishing a strong foothold in Afghanistan (the government in Kabul leans much more toward India), and it has resulted in a cooling of the Taliban’s relations with al-Qaeda.

Despite their most successful spring offensive last year since being ousted in 2001, the Taliban realize they need the assistance of a state actor if they are to achieve “total victory”. Al-Qaeda will have nothing to do with the Islamabad government, though, so the Taliban had to go it alone.

Read the rest of the article. It is interesting as well as spooky. And the Pakastani government is our friend??
