Please stay strong and committed to your great and noble cause. And if this self-serving cowardly world will not support you in this existential battle, so be it. Their time will come. Never before have we seen such moral clarity with regard to your strategic dilemma. Despite the relentless onslaught of antisemitic leftist propaganda that permeates the world's media, we can still see the truth. There is no compromise with evil. There is no two state solution. There is no coexistence. There is only victory and death to those who call for your destruction.

We can clearly see that the battle of Gaza is the epicenter of the West's War on Terror. In this twelfth installment of exploring Jihad in Fiqh, we return to Reliance of the Traveller.

Jihad is a communal obligation. When enough people perform it to successfully accomplish it, it is no longer obligatory upon others […] If none of those concerned perform jihad, and it does not happen at all, then everyone who is aware that it is obligatory is guilty of sin, if there was a possibility of having performed it. In the time of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) jihad was a communal obligation after his emigration (hijra) to Medina. As for subsequent times, there are two possible states in respect to non-Muslims. The first is when they [i.e. Muslims] are in their own countries, in which case jihad is a communal obligation, and this is what our author is speaking of when he says, ”Jihad is a communal obligation,” meaning upon the Muslims each year. The second state is when non-Muslims invade a Muslim country or near to one, in which case jihad is personally obligatory upon the inhabitants of that country, who must repel the non-Muslims with whatever can.

In this quote, we learn that the communal obligation to perform Jihad is annual. Jihad is not an anachronism which can be ignored, it must be performed every year until the entire world is conquered.

If none of those concerned perform jihad, and it does not happen at all, then everyone who is aware that it is obligatory is guilty of sin, if there was a possibility of having performed it.

You should understand that Jihad is mandatory, and that neglecting it is sinful.

A postscript: This is in reply to Findalis' interesting reference to the controversies surrounding Wyeth (and others) work in the 80s.

As many of you may already know, my background is in art -- I attended the New York Art Students League and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (Wyeth's alma mater). There are some interesting analogies between the liberals' hatred of artists like Hopper and Wyeth, and the liberals hatred of Reagan and G. W. Bush. That's why I mentioned that Wyeth had 'bridged the gap between the experts and the layman'. Both the working artists and the interested laymen loved and appreciated Wyeth's work. But those in between, those pseudo-intellectuals soon assumed the pose of disdain for what they considered to be commonplace realism. They had moved beyond that inferior art form long ago. Realism -- i.e., painting things as they appeared to the eye -- was out and obscurantism was in. Beginning in the late sixties with pop artists like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein and pure abstract expressionists like Kline and Pollack and others, and culminating in the furious collecting mania of the 80s, the New York art world was effectively taken over by the elitist liberal left. Academic (traditional or figurative) art -- was demoted and looked down upon as second rate and intellectually inferior to abstract or non-objective art, or its various New Age offshoots, such as op art, anti-art, etc. In other words, the pseudo-intellectuals took over and the layman was almost completely -- and, I think, quite purposely -- alienated, effectively left out in the cold. "Artists" vied with one another to see who could be more avant-garde, who could be more outrageous. A painter was deemed important only if those critics who were deemed important said that they were important. The average person had no say in this matter whatsoever. To mouth the abstruse -- and often meaningless -- jargon of the art critics, the more obscure the better, (such as, 'plastic orchestration', metaphysical harmony', etc.) became a sign of one's superior intellect -- and just another way of separating oneself from the unlettered herd.

In the late 1950s, I had a one-man show of my work at a prestigious gallery in Rittenhouse Square, in Philadelphia (It was, in fact, so prestigious that I wasn't allowed in to view my own work until I had borrowed a tie from a friend). I remember sitting on a bench in the center of this rather elegant display area, surrounded by my work on the walls, and listening to the conversations of the visitors as they circled the room, commenting on my paintings and drawings. It was so phony, so pretentious, that I almost started to laugh at them. I was the artist. It was my work, and I think I understood it and what it was intended to convey, but these Sunday connoisseurs were attributing meanings and motives to my paintings and drawings that I neither comprehended nor intended.

Well now, here we go again, folks. Once again the liberal elitists have won out. They hated GWB for some of the same reasons they hated Andrew Wyeth, and now once again they will be telling us what is suppossed to be important and what is not.

Peace For Israel?

So, today the news is that Israel has signed onto a possible cease-fire as long as certain details are accepted by HAMAS. HAMAS has said that they reject the conditions set forth by Egypt. Could it be that Egypt is "concerned" that Israel just might do something about the tunnel networks which are accessed in Egypt? Could it be that HAMAS rejects the cease-fire terms due to the death of Said Siam or will try to capitalize on the UN incident? By the way, shame on the UN for allowing HAMAS to operate on their area of responsibility.

There will be no peace in Israel until the various terrorist groups or Israel exist no more. Israel fights to survive and the terrorists fight to destroy Israel. The evidence pointing to the perpetrators of every conflict with Israel stems from the Iranian backed groups. Israel does not lob rockets and missiles or mortars into their surrounding "neighbors" unless it is in self defense. The terrorists which are allowed to operate in the nations surrounding Israel lob rockets, missiles and mortars into Israel at random nearly every day. What does the world expect from Israel? And, why is Israel declared the Bad Guy when all she does is fight to survive?

Read Ezekiel chapters 37 through 39 and therein the answers will be found. It is very simple.

Muslim Kins and their armies must strive courageously, risking their lives to overthrow Kuffar regimes, slaughter their clerics, capture, enslave and degrade Kuffar. Thus Muslims will be favored & honored, Kuffar will be destitute & disgraced, Shari'ah enforced and infidels terrorised.

Exclusive: Ceasefire in Gaza

This is the only fighting force in history to boast that they have made human shields of their own people. It is a mockery of military ethics, yet it goes barely noticed in the Western media....

This war is not a pretty war, but, truth be told, no wars are pretty. If Hamas cannot be fought to a standstill or until it is a spent force, lulls in the fighting will be of absolutely no use. Beaten to a ceasefire, Hamas will return. They will return and they will fight to a standstill again, then they will regroup and attack once more. More deaths, of Israelis and Palestinians both. Ever-postponed statehood for the Palestinians, unending vituperation of Israel, which is only a democracy trying to defend its civilians from crimes this country would not bear for a week.

In ordering jihad Allah has said: ”Fight them until there is no persecution and religion becomes Allah’s”. [2:189] (s. 21) [2:193] Allah has, in fact, repeated this obligation [to fight] and has glorified jihad in most of the Medina suras: he has stigmatized those who neglected to do so, and treated them as hypocrites and cowards. (s. 123) [9:124-125] It is impossible to count the number of times when jihad and its virtues are extolled in the Book and the Sunna. Jihad is the best form of voluntary service that man consecrates to Allah. (s. 125) Therefore, since jihad is divinely instituted, and its goal is that religion reverts in its entirety to Allah and to make Allah’s word triumph, whoever opposes the realization of this goal will be fought, according to the unanimous opinion of Muslims. Jews and Christians, as well as Zoroastrians (Magians), must be fought until they embrace Islam or pay the jizya without recriminations. Jurisconsults do not agree on the question of knowing if the jizya should be imposed on other categories of infidels; on the other hand, all consider that it should not be required of Arabs [hence they should convert to Islam or be killed or expelled]. • Muslims are obligated to fight.
• Jihad is glorified.
• Those who neglect it are stigmatized.
• The goal is Islam's triumph.
• Whoever opposes it will be fought.
• People of the Book must be fought to extortion.
• Others must be converted or killed.

Ammunition Accountability

The moonbats are out in full swing to the left of Americanized Marxism. Ammunition accountability. This is absurd and has propelled itself beyond the pale of mental decapitation. My idea and reality check of ammunition accountability is to store it properly and safely and keeping it clean...yes, I clean my stored ammunition on a regular basis.

These people are bona fide loons. First of all, criminals normally do not buy their ammunition, they steal it. If they do buy it, they buy it off the street and not in a store. This law will insure that the criminals will absolutely never buy any ammunition ever. They will use ammunition whose "owners" will be implicated in the crime, thus DELAYING catching the real criminal. This proposal is pure idiocy. I bet they voted for Czarbie.

On the off chance that politicians think that this is a good idea, I will be going to the nearest gun show to purchase an abundant supply of my calibers of choice and when the dead line comes and goes, rest assured that I will not be destroying any that does not have the serial numbers etched at the base of the lead projectile. Now, for "plinking", I will go to the shooting ranges and buy that ammo there and use it all up at the range...maybe, if I need to. However, I will be purchasing an excess amount of the cheaper "plinking" rounds as well.

This proposal is retarded. Oh. Wait. Did I say that already? My bad.

Did I mention that the brass won't be serialized? The lead projectiles will be serialized. Where do these people come up with this stuff? Remember when the babbling idiot in the Clinton Administration, Joyclyn Elders, said that she wanted safer bullets? And, what in the hell is a bullet projectile anyway?

Repealing the 22nd Amendment?

I am not quite sure where this is going to go and fortunately, there are no co-sponsors at the moment. As you can see in the screen shot taken from this web site, there is a motion made to repeal the 22nd Amendment in the United States Constitution. The timing is indeed suspect.

Why, at this particular point in time, is Jose Serrano wanting to repeal the 22nd Amendment which limits the terms a President of the United States can serve? Some are saying that perhaps Bill Clinton can run again. Some are saying that The One is still young and could serve many terms before he reaches retirement age. Why not? He more than likely isn't a natural born citizen so why not make a Marxist illegal alien the First Czar?

Two weeks ago, Ricks reported on a new publication by Army War College research professor Sherifa Zuhur on Hamas and Israel that informs readers that Hamas has been misunderstood due to the misreporting by “Israeli and Western sources that villainize the group.” Zuhur concludes that Hamas isn’t so bad after all, so we all just need to get along and embrace the terrorist group through negotiations — a view apparently endorsed by the Army War College when it published her defense of Hamas.

A second post last week, “Fiasco at the Army War College: The Sequel,” records an exchange between Ricks and defense expert and author Mark Perry. Assessing the academic state of affairs at the War College, Perry informed Ricks:

It’s worse than you think. They have curtailed the curriculum so that their students are not exposed to radical Islam. Akin to denying students access to Marx during the Cold War.

Idiotic treason! Why do we have Muslims deciding the curriculum at our war college? Why are our future military officers being shielded from knowledge of Islam's doctrines & practices? This nation is being run to ruin by analencephalopaths who should be removed from office or hung for treason.

Chemo Thoughts: The End of My World?

Earlier today a friend emailed me to ask how I was doing. I assume they were referring to my ongoing battle with leukemia. I answered that I was doing fine. I had determined early on when I got that first lethal prognosis that I was not going to use the pages of Radarsite for a continual updating on the morbid details of my chemotherapy. So I answered that I was doing fine. But, I wonder, how am I really doing? Am I really doing fine?

Nothing concentrates the mind like a death sentence. Especially one that is so close at hand and almost certain. Priorities are immediately questioned and reshuffled. What seemed of great import yesterday may have lost much or all of its weight today. The love and closeness of family and friends becomes paramount; whereas the opinions of strangers become less and less relevant. The often frenetic muddle of everyday life is quickly subsumed into the greater battle for life itself. There's only enough space left in your life for those things of real value, or perhaps for those values which are real. There's just not enough time left for empty rhetoric or endless gentlemanly debate. In whatever time is left you must embrace your family and your values and hold them dear.

The whole purpose of developing Radarsite was to speak up for America. To come to her defense. To answer her enemies and her critics with truth. To fight for the truth in the face of the relentless barrage of propaganda and lies. In short, a place to express my love and my respect for America and for American values. This mission has never wavered. The wonderful contributors whose fine work now fills these pages all share this love and respect for our great nation.

And now? Oh, I still love this beautiful country of ours, this wonderful meritocracy we call home. But my love is tinged with anxiety and fear. Like the love for a child who has gone astray, who has ignored all of our good advice and chosen an ignoble path to self-destruction. We can only watch helplessly as they slip further and further from our embrace and deeper and deeper into the black pit.

How do I feel? my friend asks. Here's how I really feel. From those very first days I have accepted my personal prognosis completely and without complaint. I am grateful for the endlessly fascinating life I have been allowed to live. But I have not yet accepted the dire fate that awaits my beloved country. I am filled with shame and disbelief at what we have become, what we are becoming, what we are giving up, what we have forgotten. My usually dependable inherent optimism has been all but eroded by the preposterous events of these last few years. That America I have so long loved and respected has been turned upside down. Those values that separated us from the rest of the world have either been ingloriously degraded or completely abandoned. We no longer know who we are or what we stand for. We allow others to define us, we allow our sworn enemies -- both within and without -- to determine our national agendas. We are in the fateful process of completely losing our national identity. And according to our recent elections, this makes half of our population happy. Half of our population considers our formerly-precious American identity to be the problem. America is what's wrong with this world. To fix the world we must therefore change what it means to be an American. Change we can believe in.

We are presently besieged by savage enemies. Islamists, Marxists, Anarchists, cruel dictators and criminal tyrants. We are besieged by alien cults of death who nurse apocalyptic visions of destruction. Everything that we hold dear is under attack and threatened. But the most dangerous and shameless enemy of all lives right here amongst us. Our very own treacherous patriots, who rush to give the keys to the kingdom to the barbarians at our gates. The idiots, the fools, the delusional liberals, and those elitist amoral progressives who honestly believe that by utterly destroying the fabric of this great nation they will somehow save it. They have traded our pride for guilt and our strength for safety. And I despise them for it. I despise them more than I despise our sworn enemies, because our sworn enemies do not disguise their motives under the cloak of patriotism.

And what of our innocent children? Our beloved grandchildren? What godless world have we bequeathed to them? What is our message to these innocents? There is no right or wrong. Everything is relative. All peoples and all belief systems are morally equal. There is no such thing as good or evil, just different points of view. War is morally wrong, no matter what its purpose. To defend yourself with violence is as unjustifiable as to attack one with violence.

How do I feel? I have been told that my life is coming to an end. So be it. I can deal with that. But can I deal with the prospect of my beloved country coming to an end? Is my beloved country eagerly embracing its own demise? Will our new America truly be willing to fight for its survival in this savage world? Or, as it seems to me now, have we chosen the ignoble road of appeasement and dishonor? Is there still hope for us?

Someone out there please tell me that I am wrong, that my pessimism is premature or unfounded, that my deductions are somehow flawed. Someone please tell me that I can leave this world in peace and not in this awful despair for our future. - rg

Its Shari'ah, Stupid #9

This is the ninth installment of a series on offensive Jihad in Fiqh.

Since lawful warfare is essentially jihad and since its aim is that the religion is God’s entirely and God’s word is uppermost, therefore, according to all Muslims, those who stand in the way of this aim must be fought. As for those who cannot offer resistance or cannot fight, such as women, children, monks, old people, the blind, handicapped, and their likes, they shall not be killed, unless they actually fight with words [i.e. by propaganda] and acts [e.g. by spying or otherwise assisting in the warfare]. […] we may only fight those who fight us when we want to make God’s religion victorious. […] This jihad is obligatory if it is carried out on our intitiative and also if it is waged as defence. If we take the initiative, it is a collective duty, [which means that] if it is fulfilled by a sufficient number [of Muslims], the obligation lapses for all others and the merit goes to those who have fulfilled it […] But if the enemy wants to attack the Muslims, then repelling him becomes a duty for all those under attack and for the others in order to help them. So the latter [form of jihad] consists in defense of the religion, of things that are inviolable, and of lives. Therefore it is fighting out of necessity. The former, however, is voluntary fighting in order to propagate the religion, to make it triumph and to intimidate the enemy, such as was the case with the expedition to Tabuk and the lik.

• since its aim is that the religion is God’s entirely and God’s word is uppermost, therefore, according to all Muslims, those who stand in the way of this aim must be fought.
