This Blog Is Moving

Greetings. After this weekend, this Take Our Country Back Blog will be moving to the new web site. Too many conservatives are getting zapped by the intolerant dweebs of the Obama Goons and seeing that this editing platform is a free site, Blogger can do pretty much what it feels like doing. Hence, I now have a paid site and will be migrating the last 1400+ posts shortly.

So, one day, you just may click this page somewhere and it will show up as "private". It has been fun but the intolerant Czarbie Goon Squads are brain dead idiots. They can come play at the new site which I OWN outright.

Dems, GOP Poised to Bash Clinton - Posted by A.B. Stoddard

It’s the unofficial end of summer, the end of Campaign 2008’s very early beginning and the end of the no-fly zone over the frontrunner, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. Her two main rivals for the nomination, former Sen. John Edwards and Sen. Barack Obama, have now run out of time to play nice and have repositioned their candidacies to take aim at Clinton as yesterday’s entrenched, narrow-minded, corporation-and-lobbyist-hugging establishment pol. And if they needed any help, others including Karl Rove and Mitt Romney have decided to step in and pour it on as well.

President Bush Visits and Thanks Troops in Anbar Province
Al-Asad Airbase
Al-Anbar Province, Iraq

9:43 P.M. (Local)

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you all. General, thank you very much. It's an honor to be with you.

As you know, today is Labor Day back home -- (hooah) -- so I thought I'd come by to thank you for all your hard work. (Hooah.) Every day -- every day -- you show bravery under incredibly difficult circumstances. Every day you're doing work on the sands of Anbar that is making it safer in the streets of America. And every day the United States of America is grateful for what you're doing. I want you to tell your families the Commander-in-Chief stopped by to say hello, and he said, I'm incredibly proud to be the Commander-in-Chief of such a great group of men and women. (Applause.)

I'm keeping pretty good company, as you can see. I brought out the A Team so they could be with the folks who are making a significant difference in this war against these radicals and extremists. In Anbar you're seeing firsthand the dramatic differences that can come when the Iraqis are more secure. In other words, you're seeing success.

You see Sunnis who once fought side by side with al Qaeda against coalition troops now fighting side by side with coalition troops against al Qaeda. Anbar is a huge province. It was once written off as lost. It is now one of the safest places in Iraq. (Hooah.) Because of your hard work, because of your bravery and sacrifice, you are denying al Qaeda a safe haven from which to plot and plan and carry out attacks against the United States of America. What you're doing here is making this country safer, and I thank you for your hard work. (Hooah.)

The surge of operations that began in June is improving security throughout Iraq. The military successes are paving the way for the political reconciliation and economic progress the Iraqis need to transform their country. When Iraqis feel safe in their own homes and neighborhoods, they can focus their efforts on building a stable, civil society with functioning government structures at the local and provincial and national levels. And that's important, because a free Iraq, an Iraq that's an ally against these extremists and murderers will be a major defeat for the terrorists.

Earlier today I met with some of the tribal sheiks here in Anbar. It was a really interesting meeting. And at the table were the leaders of the central government, as well. They told me that the kind of bottom-up progress that your efforts are bringing to Anbar is vital to the success and stability of a free Iraq. See, Iraqis need this stability to build a more peaceful future. And America needs this stability to prevent the chaos that allows the terrorists to set up bases from which they can plot and plan attacks on our homeland.

The very people that you helped the Iraqis defeat in Anbar swore allegiance to the man that ordered the attack on the United States of America. What happens here in Anbar matters to the security of the United States.

And so I thank you for your sacrifice. I thank you for volunteering in the face of danger. I thank you for your courage and your bravery. Every day you are successful here in Iraq draws nearer to the day when America can begin calling you and your fellow servicemen and women home.

But I want to tell you this about the decision -- about my decision about troop levels. Those decisions will be based on a calm assessment by our military commanders on the conditions on the ground -- not a nervous reaction by Washington politicians to poll results in the media. (Hooah.) In other words, when we begin to draw down troops from Iraq, it will be from a position of strength and success, not from a position of fear and failure. To do otherwise would embolden our enemies and make it more likely that they would attack us at home. If we let our enemies back us out of Iraq, we will more likely face them in America. If we don't want to hear their footsteps back home, we have to keep them on their heels over here. And that's exactly what you're doing, and America is safer for it.

In Anbar you're doing this hard work every day. We've all come to say thank you. We've come to tell you the American people are standing with you. They're grateful for your sacrifice. As Commander-in-Chief, I'm proud to be in your presence on this Labor Day. I ask for God's blessings on you and your family, and may God continue to bless America. Thank you. (Applause.)

Bush trumpets military progress in Iraq

President Bush Conducts a Media Coupe!

President Bush secretly (must not have informed the NY Slimes) traveled to Iraq, specifically, to Anbar Province, the Shining Example of the successes in Iraq.

Click the link to catch the buzz. The KOSmonoffs are whining about it...poor trolls.

This could be just the beginning of several September surprises.

Some are saying and, I agree, that this is the first shot across the bow to the Defeatocrats.

GWB said that he has more moral fortitude than those that live their lives by the political polls and some journalist's opinion...paraphrase mine...and yes, I listened to GWB as he addressed The Troops in Al Anbar.

As usual, California Yankee has something to say.

ONWARD TO VICTORY!! HOOAH?

Update(s):

President Bush has said this many times and it is why this yammering about troop withdrawals is really a political football (with no air) being played out by the loser mentality of the Leftinistra.

US President George Bush says he's been told the security situation in Iraq can be maintained even with fewer troops. He was speaking on a surprise visit to Anbar province in Iraq. Bush said any move to reduce forces' levels would be based on solely military grounds. He addressed troops after meeting General David Petraeus, the commander of US troops in Iraq, for a final review of the war before a showdown in Congress over the number of soldiers serving in Iraq.

For the Leftinistra to "demand" troop draw-downs is actually funny...sad...but still funny.

Sept. 3 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush said the U.S. may be able to bring some troops home from Iraq if progress being made in stabilizing Anbar province, once a center of insurgency, can be replicated throughout the country.

Bush, who made a surprise visit to Iraq today, said after meeting with Iraqi political leaders and U.S. military commanders that Iraqis living in the region west of Baghdad are taking more responsibility for their own security.

``If the kind of success we are seeing continues, it will be possible to maintain the same level of security with fewer American forces,'' Bush said at the al-Asad Air Base.

No surprises here. All one has to do is actually READ the President's speeches and press releases and the plethora of videos from as far back as 2004.

Let the whining begin...this cracks me up...

But the president, flanked by Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, did not say how many troops could be withdrawn or how soon.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!! The President won't tell us everything! Some people's kids.

And more good news surely to depress the Leftinistra:

BAGHDAD - Iraq's prime minister said Monday he expects the U.S. ambassador and military commander to give his government favorable marks when they report to Congress next week and predicted passage of a law soon that could return more Sunnis to government jobs.

The speech was short and sweet and if I can get the right electrons to cooperate I will post the audio.

"People shouldn't jump to conclusions until the general and the ambassador report," Bush said.

During a rally later for more than 600 American troops at the base, Bush warned members of Congress who might be anticipating quick reductions in U.S. forces.

"Those decisions will be based on a calm assessment by our military commanders on the conditions on the ground, not reaction by Washington politicians to poll results in the media," said Bush. "In other words, when we begin to draw down troops from Iraq, it will be from a position of strength and success, not from the position of fear and failure."

Praising the troops, Bush said, "every day you show bravery under incredibly difficult circumstances. I'm incredibly proud to be the commander in chief of such a great group of men and women."

The excited crowd responded to their commander-in-chief with hearty cheers and shouts of "ooh-rah!" and "hoo-ah!"

In the above quote, certain words are missing. Did you notice them? I did. Behold...compare the above to this:

"Those decisions will be based on a calm assessment by our military commanders on the conditions on the ground, not a nervous reaction by Washington politicians to poll results in the media," said Mr Bush, addressing troops at the base on the US Labor Day holiday.

"In other words when we begin to draw down troops from Iraq it will be from a position of strength and success, not from a position of fear and failure."

Mr. Bush told reporters after talks with Gen. David H. Petraeus, the top commander in Iraq, and Ryan C. Crocker, the ambassador to Iraq, that they “tell me that if the kind of success we are now seeing here continues, it will be possible to maintain the same level of security with fewer American forces.”

“I urge members of both parties in Congress to listen to what they have to say,” the president said. “Congress shouldn’t jump to conclusions until the general and the ambassador report.”

Speaking to the troops at the base, Mr. Bush emphasized that any decisions about troops levels would be made free of political pressure.

HOOAH? HOOAH!!

The Evil of Czarina September 2nd, 2007 by snooper

“A nation can survive it’s fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments,he appeals to the baseness that lies in the heart of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the country, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear.

The traitor is the plague……” Marcus Tullius Cicero, speech to the Roman Senate.

Islamist Website Hosted in Minnesota Calls for Suicide Operations in Denmark

On August 31, 2007, the Islamist website www.ekhlaas.cc, hosted by SiteGenie LLC in Rochester, Minnesota, posted a document calling for "martyrdom [i.e., suicide] operations" in Denmark. The author, who identified himself as a member of Al-Qaeda, urged the Muslims not to forget the incident of the Danish cartoons, and promised the people of Denmark that the "brigades of martyrdom seekers are on their way... and will soon carry out blessed operations" in their country. He called on the Muslims to register on the site as candidates for these suicide operations.

Following are excerpts from the document:

"Some Muslims have put the affair of the Danish [cartoons] behind them and have completely forgotten it... I have reopened this issue in order to irritate the infidel Danes, and to remind them that the affair is not over and that the brigades of the martyrdom seekers are on their way.

"[My] goal is to urge [my Muslim] brothers to put down their names [so as to indicate] that the affair is not over, and that they will soon set out to carry out blessed operations in Denmark. Please put down your names in order to strike fear in the hearts of the Danish people.

"I take upon myself the honorable [task] of being the first martyrdom seeker to crush the strongholds of heresy in Denmark.

America Rising...Be There!!

Twas' the night before the "Fight for Victory Tour" launched and all through the hotel...

Hello, everyone, Melanie Morgan here, writing to you on the eve of the most ambitious cross-country pro-troop effort of its kind that's ever been undertaken - the "Fight for Victory Tour."

It's Sunday night, and I have just driven up from San Francisco, California to Carson City, Nevada after stopping by Vacaville, California to pick up Catherine Moy - the award-winning journalist who is the lead blogger for Move America Forward.

I'm on the way to the Reno airport to pick up Lt. Colonel Buzz Patterson (USAF, Ret.) who serves as Vice Chairman of Move America Forward. Gold Star Mom Debbie Lee has flown in to Sacramento to join Blue Star Mom Deborah Johns and the rest of the Move America Forward staff who are driving up to Carson City, Nevada for the kickoff of our historic pro-troop caravan.

We will be traveling more than 4,384 miles across this nation for this effort - stopping to hold 27 pro-troop rallies along the way.

What else can I possibly say to thank you for all the support you have shown Move America Forward? How else can I stress the importance of having you and others join our caravan for all or part of the way - and to attend one or more of our pro-troop rallies.

You have heard from all of us at Move America Forward explaining how critical this effort is - given the mid-September debate that will occur in Congress about whether our troops will be forced to surrender to al-Qaida.

I will ask for your continued prayers and well-wishes as we launch this massive undertaking tomorrow morning with our 9:00 AM rally in Carson City.

There are 2 final quick points.

1. We are continuing to raise money to purchase radio, TV and Internet ads to get the word out about this caravan and these rallies - we need this caravan to grow, and our rallies to increase in size - as we cross the nation. You can contribute online here:

2. A supporter sent in this video they made to inspire you all to take action to join with us for the "Fight for Victory Tour" and to make sure you are in Washington, D.C. by September 15th for the giant "Gathering of Eagles" pro-troop/pro-veteran event. Watch it here, it'll bring a smile to your face in some parts and tug at your heartstrings in others:

Our staff will be posting pictures, news stories, blog updates, and video clips at the Move America Forward website, so keep checking there (and be a bit patient with us as we may not always have immediate updates posted -- life on the road can be a bit hectic). Log on

How Much Remembrance Is Too Much and Who Is AQI?

There will be more bloggers, writers and journalists sure to follow this topic. Suffice it to say, the topic is among the most reviled by the Defeatocrats of all makes and models.

Among the reputable, we find the following:

Al Qaeda In Iraq is part of the global al Qaeda movement. AQI, as the U.S. military calls it, is around 90 percent Iraqi. Foreign fighters, however, predominate in the leadership and among the suicide bombers, of whom they comprise up to 90 percent, U.S. commanders say. The leader of AQI is Abu Ayyub al-Masri, an Egyptian. His predecessor, Abu Musab al Zarqawi, was a Jordanian.

Because the members of AQI are overwhelmingly Iraqis--often thugs and misfits recruited or dragooned into the organization (along with some clerics and more educated leaders)--it is argued that AQI is not really part of the global al Qaeda movement. Therefore, it is said, the war in Iraq is not part of the global war on terror: The "real" al Qaeda--Osama bin Laden's band, off in its safe havens in the Pakistani tribal areas of Waziristan and Baluchistan--is the group to fight. Furthermore, argue critics of this persuasion, we should be doing this fighting through precise, intelligence-driven air strikes or Special Forces attacks on key leaders, not the deployment of large conventional forces, which only stirs resentment in Muslim countries and creates more terrorists.

Over the past four years, the war in Iraq has provided abundant evidence to dispute these assertions. (click the link provided as well as following the buzz here)

The Captain has a few choice words as to how much we should remember about 91101 and the buzz can be followed here:

It's doubtful that any newspaper outside of New York City could raise this question, but the Times asks whether we should set aside the anniversaries of 9/11 as a collective mourning date for the nation. How long should the remembrances dominate the day, and how many years should the city and nation conduct the familiar ceremonies of grief?

It's a difficult question, one framed responsibly and thoughtfully by N. R. Kleinfield. Some anniversaries stay in the national consciousness for decades, such as December 7th, Pearl Harbor Day, and June 6th, D-Day. Others tend to fade with time; as Kleinfield points out, no one recalls the date of the sinking of the Maine (February 15th) or the Kent State Massacre (May 4th). Is six years too soon to ask that the official grieving come to an end?

I find it appallingly sad that all in the name of The Almighty Political Office, there are politicians feeding the frenzy of those adhering to the Bash America inanity. 91101 WILL be one of those vents which WILL be remembered in the hearts, minds and souls of True Patriots, True Americans.

In a previous post I penned here, I have reposted it below:

As many of us have known from the onset, Al Q'aida was in Iraq long before we ever got there, the second time. The only ones that dispute that are the uninitiated, the uneducated and the Haters Of America and the Blame America First Fruit Loop Brigades. They have no proof of their allegations. They have attempted to show that AQM is not really AQ and that AQ showed up in Iraq after we arrived, the second time. This is simply untrue.

In this post here, there is ample proof the detractors of the real threats we face refuse to believe. Why do they refuse? Because they would have to admit that their rhetoric is wrong and they just might lose what credibility they have left and, that isn't much. Just look around you. The Conservative Tsunami is over-taking them and the swell and smell of Victory is in the air. Victory In Iraq is unacceptable to the losers in this country and others.

In another post here, one can find further documentation of AQ in Iraq BEFORE we got to Iraq, the second time.

To where did they run off to? "We" watched them flee through the mountains of the "Stan" countries to the northwest and northeast of the "entry" points. "We" watched them run west. "We" watched them run east. The majority ran nearly due west...Iraq. About as half as many ran west...Pakistan. The remaining stood their short-lived ground in Afghanistan. They did not expect the United States to fulfill the bluff. To cover for their mistakes, they began their propaganda machines and said that the United States took the bait. If anyone believes that, I can show them that a dead gnat has more brain power and common sense than they do.

One can find a very watered down "story" here.

I have seen my fair-share of elephants and I wouldn't want to see any here, on American soil.

The moonbats cannot accept the Victory In Iraq unfolding before our eyes...and theirs. Why is this? The reason(s) are this...the Fruit Loop Brigades are comprised of members of the Ignorant Electorate. Here is my message to the moonbats.

Christopher Hitchens over at Slate has a fantastic article in support of which I have known for years and most do not. It is either they don't know or they refuse to accept the facts as they are.

The founder of al-Qaida in Mesopotamia was Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who we can now gratefully describe as "the late." The first thing to notice about him is that he was in Iraq before we were. The second thing to notice is that he fled to Iraq only because he, and many others like him, had been driven out of Afghanistan. Thus, by the logic of those who say that Afghanistan is the "real" war, he would have been better left as he was. Without the overthrow of the Taliban, he and his collaborators would not have moved to take advantage of the next failed/rogue state. I hope you can spot the simple error of reasoning that is involved in this belief. It also involves the defeatist suggestion—which was very salient in the opposition to the intervention in Afghanistan—that it's pointless to try to crush such people because "others will spring up in their place." Those who take this view should have the courage to stand by it and not invent a straw-man argument.
Popcorn anyone?

Popcorn indeed.

Untitled Terrorism...UPDATED

Northeast Intelligence Network

By Sean Osborne, Associate Director, Military Affairs

31 August 2007: There is an old saying that goes something like this: If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it did its falling make a sound? To put it another way, if there was an earthquake and no one was around to feel the effects underneath their feet did the earth really move? Well, we’re told by science that the vibration of trillions of molecules creates audible sound and without a human ear to hear those vibrations the sound did occur without a human to detect the falling of the tree. Same goes for the earthquake. Seismographs might record the events in the dimensions of magnitude and duration, but nobody heard or felt them and the danger potential was not otherwise recorded or reported. Some of you are now shrugging your shoulders and saying,”yeah, so what”?

This is what. If there were numerous precursor events and actual events of terrorism going on all over the United States of America with neither the national mainstream media nor the government you elected were acknowledging their occurrence would you know those events had occurred? No, you would probably not, unless you read this website often or had been told by your friends about it via word-of-mouth or an email with a link. Otherwise these events are untitled terrorism, they do not exist. And if you did not know about those untitled terrorist events would you care one iota that they had occurred? Negative, you would not care. If you didn’t hear that “tree” fall near you or feel the “earth move” under your feet then there is no report of an imminent threat to you or your family and you believe you and family are perfectly safe and secure where you are. Believe me; nothing could be further from the truth. Click the article title or “read more” above to continue with this important editorial report.

America, are you aware of the threat to your beloved children on their way to school or in school? How many times over the past couple of years have you heard of this potential danger and then forgotten about it over time. The danger hasn’t gone away, so why are you comfortable now? Maybe I should inform you that in the Houston, Texas area the FBI, JTTF and local law enforcement are anything but comfortable. If you’re not a resident of the Houston area you did not hear this tree fall. Over the summer months, and while your attention has been upon everything but school, at least 17 school buses have been stolen from a variety of student transportation concerns, including private companies, charter schools and businesses. These thefts occurred within a specific geographical suburb of Houston. No known threat? Oh, yes, there is a very real promissory threat from Islamic terrorists to kill several million American children; this is just one avenue to accomplish that Islamic promise. Figuratively, this falling “tree” is a threat to our children and also involves a transportation system. Did you hear it?

In Washington, D.C. problems continue on the Metro transportation system. A month ago the Northeast Intelligence Network reported on the poison spread at various stations of the various systems lines and the sudden death of birds at these locations, which also was eerily similar to what occurred on Congress Avenue in Austin, Texas back in January 2007. Not quite a month after the poison incidents the DC Metro experienced unexplained electrical power problems. Some enterprising public affairs officer blamed this two-day long failure on lightning. It is interesting to note here that one DC Metro power supplier, Virginia Dominion, did not record any electrical problems during the outages and fires on the affected segments of the system. Again, those who do not live in the DC Metro area probably never heard of these events and for you this electrical power and transportation “tree” never fell.

Then there are the various explosive events we have reported on over time and very recently. Do you recall the explosive events in Romulus, Michigan; Texas City, Texas; Spokane, Washington, and most recently the near identical incidents in Houston and Dallas, Texas? And I’ll bet you never felt the earth move under your feet unless you live near Henderson, Texas where a natural gas pipeline exploded without apparent cause and illuminated the night sky for a half-mile in every direction. This pipeline belongs to Kinder Morgan, which according to its website, is one of the largest pipeline transportation and storage companies in North America. In other words, this is part of American strategic national infrastructure. No comment from the national mainstream media, and no government commentary either.

Shhhh, be quiet America, the trees are not falling in the American forest, and the ground does not move under our feet. This September and during the school year dare not to express concern to your elected officials over the security of your children on their way to or while in their school. After all, Beslan is in Russia, not America. Fret not over your own security as you commute over rail lines, bridges and our national transportation infrastructure. A little nick of the razor in the morning is not really a problem, but ten thousand of them that you’re not aware of probably will kill you. The same is true for this country unless you demand the government do something to secure the razors, the axes felling the trees and the Improvised Explosive Devices moving the ground under our feet. It really is up to you to make a difference for your children, yourselves and the nation as a whole. Make some noise like a falling tree; make the government feel the earth move under its bureaucratic feet by stomping your own.

We have been warned numerous times and yet we remain complacent. We are at war with a barbaric enemy who cares nothing about your lives or your childrens lives. The time to act is NOW not after the fact when the touchy feely crowd insists you must heal.

Become proactive not reactive.

I'd much rather deal with my anger and outrage than grief.

How about you?
Dean

In 2006, the Republican party was also hit with distracting scandals involving Congressman Mark Foley's inappropriate e-mails to male congressional pages, and lobbyist Jack Abramoff's corruption case, that brought down several prominent Republican Congressmen. This year, the phone number of Republican senator David Vitter turned up in the records of a Washington, DC escort service, and now, recent polls show voters prefer a Democrat over a Republican by 51 to 27%, and at least one poll found the most popular choice among Republican presidential candidates is "none of the above." The question now: can any of the damage be reversed? Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay served in Congress for 22 years and knows personally how scandals can impact a party. He's also the author of a new book called No Retreat, No Surrender: One American's Fight. Tom DeLay, Congressman, good morning.

TOM DELAY: Good morning, Matt.

LAUER: So, I went through a litany there, and maybe I should start by stepping back. We've got two members out of 49 Republican Senators in office right now embroiled in controversy. So, do we have a party embroiled in scandal or do we have two bad apples?

DELAY: Well, I hate to say this Matt, but you just showed the problem, the double-standard, and you just participated in it. You listed a whole lot of scandals that involve the Republicans, but you didn't mention one Democrat.

LAUER: But you didn't hear me. I also just said do we only have two bad apples or is there a case of an entire party embroiled in scandal?

DELAY: I think in your premise, if you had listed all the Democrats that are having problems right now, it would have been different. You see the Democrats re-elect the people with their problems. Republicans kick them out. If you look at what's going on, it's how you handle it as a party and as a political group. You have right now, Alan Mollohan, a Congressman from West Virginia, who is being investigated by the FBI, and the Democrats have kept him on as chairman of the committee that has oversight of the budget of the FBI. You have William Jefferson-

LAUER: So, you're saying it's a positive thing. Is it a positive thing that the Republicans do this, they weed out immediately?

DELAY: You don't want me to finish it? Because you don't want me to-

LAUER: No, no go ahead.

DELAY: Well, you have William Jefferson caught with $90,000 of marked bills in a freezer. And they did put him of the Ways and Means Committee, but they put him on a highly-sensitive Homeland Security Committee. You have Barney Frank, who was caught with a homosexual prostitute who was re-elected over and over again. Gerry Studds who was caught in a bathroom with an under-aged page and he was re-elected.

LAUER: So, why are people like McCain and Norm Coleman and Mitt Romney immediately distancing themselves from Larry Craig? And let me ask you this -- as someone who has seen personal scandal yourself, and knows what it can do -- when you look back in hindsight, knowing how this of thing plays out in the news cycle -- if you could talk to Larry Craig right now, what advice would you give him?

DELAY: Well, first of all, it's really unfortunate that people rush to judgment like they have. I'm not defending Larry Craig. I have great sympathy for what his wife and his family are going through right now. But the decisions that Larry Craig need to make are up to Larry Craig and his constituents in Idaho. But it takes us off our message, and I grant you that. It takes us off the fact that we are winning in the war in Iraq; that the President is going to stop the Democrats from raising taxes and increasing spending; that we desperately need border security in this country. We need to be talking about those kind of things, rather than this.

LAUER: And we've heard some very public statements, as I just mentioned, from John McCain and Norm Coleman and Congressman Hoekstra there a second ago. If Larry Craig decides to -- as your book title, No Retreat, No Surrender -- stay and fight, ok. What other ways, more subtle ways, do members of his own party -- and from your own experience -- start to deliver the message that it's not going to work?

DELAY: Well, I know Larry Craig, and I think he will make the right decision, that benefits him and his family, and his constituents in Idaho. But if you're not guilty of something, you should fight-

LAUER: But he pled guilty?

DELAY: But then he said he made the wrong decision in doing that. I'm not going to get into the specifics of what he has done. He didn't handle it very well. That's obvious.

LAUER: Given the situation in Washington right now, Congressman, I mean, can Larry Craig pull a Trent Lott? Can he duck under the radar for a while, and give up a powerful position, stay out of the spotlight for a while, and come back, make a comeback?

DELAY: I have no idea, Matt. You asked me to come on to talk about the GOP and politics, not about this man's personal life. Whatever decision he makes, I think it will be the right decision. The point here, though, is the Republicans handle it. They look at it, and when the evidence is right on that someone is guilty, they do something about it. On the other hand, the Democrats don't. And the media, the double-standard in the media is amazing. The feeding frenzy, the sharks in the water that's going on right now because of a Republican. Where is the frenzy on Alan Mollohan from West Virginia or William Jefferson from Louisiana?

LAUER: I think you mentioned William Jefferson. There was an awful lot of coverage of William Jefferson when that story broke, Congressman.

DELAY: Yeah, for just a couple of days and then we went on. In the case of a Republican, believe me, I've experienced this, it's day in and day out in the media, and they write this story over and over and over again. We all know the double-standard in the media. It's amazing.

LAUER: Well, I'm not going to let it, you know, end with that assumption, Congressman, because I clearly don't agree with it, but why don't we just say-

DELAY: You exhibited it, Matt!

LAUER: But you know what, Congressman? I think it's unfair. Because I listed a list of problems and then immediately-

DELAY: All Republicans.

LAUER: Well, we're talking about the Republican party. You just said, I invited you on to talk about the GOP.

DELAY: Because you don't want to talk about the Democrats.

LAUER: So, that's exactly what I started with-

DELAY: Because you don't want to talk about the Democrats.

LAUER: And I also, Congressman, started and then said, 'Is this a misperception, that there is a party embroiled in scandal, when we may just have two bad apples?' That's exactly how I started my first question.

DELAY: No, you started the first question by listing a bunch of Republicans and didn't mention one Democrat.

LAUER: Because we're talking-

DELAY: About the situation that's going on in Washington today, and including both Democrats and Republicans. There are scandals that need to be addressed. Republicans address them, Democrats re-elect them.

LAUER: Alright Congressman, I'll let you have the last word. It's good to have you on.

DELAY: Thank you. Thank you
.

That was just too funny...

Rev Guards Base Uncovered in Syria

And so, there we have it. Iranian Terror Troops right smack dab where Iran has said they weren't. Imagine that. Now, why would they be there? Did they have to travel through Iraq or Saudi Arabia or even Turkey to get there? Or perhaps they merely flew over?

From the Reform Party of Syria

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), an Iranian terrorist organization, is managing a new training base near the city of Homs located west of Syria and less than 50 km from Lebanon. The base is off-limit but intelligence delivered to RPS indicate that there is no Syrian presence at the base, which makes it a fully operational foreign base and the first of its kind in the country.

It is believed that the base is armed with the second generation of the Shahab-3 medium-range ballistic missiles (MRBM) with a range of 2,100km able to hit major metropolis in the Middle East including Israel.

I wonder what the response will be from Iran and/or Syria.

Over at NewsSlobbers: (apparently, this group has their heads stuffed up a Leftinistra's arse)
The reason Ledeen trusts them is because they are a construct of the neocons, in their entirety. The leader of the RPS is Farid Ghadry. He came up on my radar back in April because he was being cited (at NRO) as a source for reports that Nancy Pelosi's "meddling" in Israeli/Syrian diplomacy at Israel's request had "damaged the dissident movement in Syria". Gadry's SourceWatch entry is long, but here are the highlights:

Click, read and shake your head in viral and pathetic disgust. It is apparent that NewsSlobbers doesn't know about the Logan Act and how the wanna-be President One Day SoH Pelosi screwed up the unapproved of and unqualified to go mission so badly, it got the government of Israel pretty much in a tizzy.

NewsSlobbers also doesn't know that the CONgress voted on "confronting Iran on its proxy attacks on U.S. troops in Iraq".

And just fore the hell of it, let's give the apologist hacks of the Leftinistra something else to whine and gyrate about:

The Pentagon has formulated a "three-day blitz" plan to annihilate Iran's military that targets 1,200 sites, including Tehran's nuclear facilities, in order to render its military incapable of conducting offensive, defensive or retaliatory missions.

According to the London Sunday Times, citing Alexis Debat, director of terrorism and national security at the Nixon Center, the Pentagon has rejected a strategy of "pinprick strikes" against Iran's nuclear facilities.

"They're about taking out the entire Iranian military," Debat said.

Buzz at memeorandum

Perhaps the Iranian leadership is upset over Lebanon zapping their pets inside of Lebanon?
