The Damage We Have Wrought

Identity Politics. We hear quite a bit about this but what exactly is Identity Politics? The all-knowing answer to that question is elusive even though the term has been used since the early 1970s.

According to some, identity politics is when an individual votes for someone for the sole purpose to advance an agenda. The same can be said in reverse as when a politician targets a specific "identity". Classifying such action as demographics covers this up. No matter the paint used to cover up an ugly process, it is still identity politics.

According to many, identity politics is the process in which interests of special groups are advanced because they have been allegedly oppressed and deserve more attention than any other group. Such loathsome attitudes appeal to the emotion and not the intellect and we see identity politics at work each and every day in the areas of sexual orientation (fancy terminology to disguise confused men and women), religious tendencies, gender, race, ethnic background and other identity crisis prone agendas.

In this current election cycle in 2008, we have witnessed Identity Politics tear a political party nearly in half with no unity in sight for the foreseeable future. We have a black man fighting a white woman for their party's race to the White House and apparently the black man won that race. This made the women angry. Had it been reversed, it would have made the blacks angry. And, why is that? Perhaps it is due to each "section" within the DNC thinking that the blacks have been oppressed more than the women. Neither argument is true but they believe it just the same.

Seeing that the black guy chose an old white guy as a running mate, we now have young white and black women upset. I haven't heard the reports of all the other hyphenated Americans' take on any of this but if Identity Politics is what drives elections, why wasn't there an Asian-American placed on either position for the White House? I am indeed curious. For that matter, why wasn't there a homosexual or at least a same-sex team selected? Weren't their feelings injured as well? Could it be that the DNC utilizes Identity Politics as a ruse just to justify for their tactics of lies and deceit in order to win? Is winning an election all that matters?

Among the many truisms in the DNC race to occupation of the White House, a particular truth sticks out like a sore thumb. The black guy wasn't a black guy but chose that identity for the sympathy vote. Barack is neither black nor white. He is a mixed race, a hybrid. So, a hybrid was running against a white woman. If he ran as a hybrid, he would have surely lost. He won by lying. I suppose now the DNC will have to invent another category for Identity Politics for the census roles and that new category will need to be listed as HYBRID. This new category can be used for any combination of hyphenated Americans.

The GOP escapes not the Identity Politics quagmire. Not now. At first I was excited about the pick of Sarah Palin. Not now. The GOP has apparently felt the need to plunge into the cesspool of Identity Politics to a) rub the face of the DNC into the mud by picking a woman and b) picking a woman in order to win an election and c) panic-picking a woman. The whole thing pisses me off.

Is the GOP bowing to the pressures of Identity Politics? Is the GOP now the Hard-On Party? Did the GOP choose Sarah Palin just to say to Barack, "AHA! GOTCHA!"? Or, did they do it just to win and was it a panic-pick? And please don't insult my intelligence by speaking to me about the cowardly term "demographic" because I saw what that really is decades ago. If I have to explain it to you it is too late.

What has happened to America? When did winning an election become the preeminent thrust? Didn't it used to be that candidates offered up their platforms and let the people decide? When did winning an election for the sake of winning an election override the betterment of the nation that many others and I fought for, bled for and died for? Did we fight to fix the quagmire that the politicians got us into just so they could take the credit and win an election, consequences be damned?

Have we sunk to such a level that the blood of the fallen has no merit or worth? Did we fight, bleed and die so the politicians can play their silly games with our national treasures?

There are so many questions and so few answers, at least viable answers.

As we have witnessed Identity Politics tear the DNC asunder, we are now witnessing history in the making in several ways. We see the DNC torn apart and we are now seeing the GOP adopt the Identity Politics meme. This is truly a sad day for America.

Having said all of the above and knowing what I have known of John McCain since his first appearance in DC, I do know that he would not stoop to the lowly levels of Identity Politics. I cannot say that for all other members of the GOP or the followers thereof.

Judging from the reactions of the socialists that are hoping to ride the coattails of The One to the White House, they see this GOP VP pick as an Identity Politics issue. Let them think it.

Let it also be known that I will be watching for the tell-tale signs of IP within the GOP/RNC RINO clique of the Judas Iscariot Crowd.

...and what America's Greatness Means To The World

Once a year America celebrates America's greatness. That day is the 4th of July, our celebrated Day of Independence. That solemn day is now a commercialized event, which in my opinion reduces that solemn day into just another day in the lives of Americans. However, there remains a core value or principle within the souls of most Americans that True American Patriotism will always rise to the top. September 11th, 2001 proved this true.

Neighbor helped neighbor. The political winds ceased to blow but for a short time and the Nation under attack came together. That is all recent history yet it emphasizes the greatness of America and her citizens. Where I live in the hustle and bustle of early morning and afternoon rush hours, drivers were driving their vehicles differently than usual. American Flags could be seen in and on every vehicle. The world was watching us.

America still remains to this day the Beacon of Hope and a representation of what Freedom truly is and what Freedom can be. Millions of people from all walks of life flock to this nation every year. Legions of people are on waiting lists trying to come to America to start anew in the hopes of a better life than the one they are currently living. There are not millions of people on waiting lists to leave because America, even with her faults -- and there are many -- is the best nation on the face of this orb we named Earth. The world is indeed watching us.

There is no other nation on God's green Earth where the citizens are free to roam from place to place at their leisure. There is no other nation where open criticism of the government is allowed to the degree that it is. We as a people are free to opine and complain or praise and extol as we so desire without being behind bars in a prison cell or in fear that we may wind up there because of what we say.

Having said this, our Constitutional and God-given Freedoms come with a price as well as consequences. Freedom of Speech does have its limitations. We are a Nation of Law and Order. Again, the world watches us.

The greatness of any nation is her people. When the people are herded about as cattle; when the government determines how many children one can be allowed to bring into this world and thus dictate as to the acceptable gender; when a government determines which faith you may or may not possess; when movement within a nation's borders are restrictive; the nation's greatness is lost within despair and unhappiness within its people and they become automatons of that nation. When a nation does not and will not provide its people with the vehicle to obtain and pursue happiness, that nation spawns seeds of hate and discontent.

Our nation, the United States of America, guarantees the right of passage for each and every citizen the pursuit of happiness. What we as a people do with that guarantee is in our own self-made destiny and controlled by our own choices in life. Our nation's constitution does not guarantee anyone that they will achieve any particular level of happiness no matter the contrarian views we hear each and every day. Some seem to believe that happiness is given to each and every citizen. Happiness cannot be given or granted. It must be achieved by our own doing.

Her enemies also determine America's greatness. The very nature of her enemies gives credence and validity to her greatness. The enemies of Freedom will always be at odds with the very construct of the American way of life. Throughout history, America's enemies have reacted to our fast-paced growth and richness and the freedom of her citizens. Jealousy and envy are the seeds of hatred and chronic malcontents and are the very root cause of the evils thrust upon this nation both from within and without. Some called it America's Manifest Destiny that propelled this nation into greatness. I believe this to be true.

Our nation is a nation of opportunity and many people die in the process in getting to this nation as they flee the oppressiveness of other nations. Consider the Vietnamese, Cuban and Haitian boat people as a stark reminder of how desperate citizens of other nations are and what they are willing to sacrifice in getting to America, the land of the free and the home of the brave. I have never heard of boat people that have died on the open seas trying to flee America.

As the world watches America, Europe has begun returning to a non-socialist means of governance although that process will be a slow one. Nonetheless, it is taking place in historic proportions. They are turning away from that form of governance because it has failed and although our faults are many, this nation's greatness remains the Beacon of Hope. The world watches and deep down they know that America is great. We are the preeminent role model of Freedom this world has ever known. As a testament to this I present the following.

In Afghanistan on July 4th, 2008, a Polish Detachment celebrated America's Independence Day with American Forces serving there. At the end of the ceremony, the Commander of the Polish Forces presented to American Command the following:

Dear Friends, Two hundred and thirty two years ago, when your forefathers signed the Declaration of Independence, they changed the history of the world. Thanks to their sacrifices the world realized the true meaning of freedom. Independence and freedom are powerful words in your country as they are in Poland. When the United States gained independence, Poland was in the process of slowly loosing portions of its borders to its neighbors. We appreciate your efforts towards a unified and independent United States of America because we know how difficult it is to regain freedom and independence. Today we can be very happy with living in independent countries. Today we fight together for freedom for people in other countries, like here in Afghanistan.

4th of July and Independence Day are identified in our country with aspiring to freedom and that is why we are so happy that we can celebrate this day with American soldiers signifying our common goals for peace and freedom. Today we wish you and your nation a peaceful and happy day.

My friends, the American Dream is not broken as some would express. It is the process utilized in the chase of the American Dream that is broken. No government supplied Entitlement Program or process can guarantee any level of happiness one so desires to achieve. Only individual achievement on their own volition and inspiration can propel an individual to the levels of happiness one can dream of attaining. Hard work, dedication and the mental capacity to reach for the stars can and will pave the way for whatever goal an individual wishes to achieve. And therein, through the process of self-motivation, the pursuit of happiness begins and the struggles of life will be rewarded.

It is the greatness of the American People, which makes our nation great. It is the unending spirit of giving, which makes this nation great. In this nation, in time of emergency, no matter one's political or religious leanings or trappings, Americans help Americans in time of need. In local emergencies and using a fire as an example, Americans run into burning buildings and not out to save those that are trapped and some die in that process. In national emergencies, as in September 11th, 2001, Americans helped Americans across this land and across the oceans. In international emergencies, the world turns to Americans to rescue them and to lend aid and comfort in unsettling times and tragedy. As in all emergencies across this Orb Earth, Americans are the first responders the world over and here at home.

When people are in harms way of tyranny and slavery to brutal dictators, it is Americans that respond and no one else unless shamed into doing so. And, we are hated for it. That is what makes the greatness of America. When we hear that the world hates us, we know that we are doing the jobs others are incapable of doing or are unwilling to do. The measure and the very nature of the naysayers of this nation is what makes America great and great she will always remain.

We seem to save ourselves from internal destruction seemingly in the nick of time. We are a self-correcting nation and other nations envy us and others hate us for it. Nevertheless, we press forward as the Beacon of Hope and still, with all of the hype we hear from the enemies of Freedom and the enemies of Law and Order to the contrary of our greatness, we still render aid when called upon and when not called upon, we still make the offer.

The world does watch us and, the nations that are not as free as we, are envious of us and what we are capable of doing.

Remember these words and may they never falter nor let their meaning escape your remembrance: from the mountains, to the prairies, to the oceans white with foam, God bless America, my home sweet home.

May God continue to bless and keep us from ourselves.

These same sad-sacks and gaggle of liars seem to think it quite alright if our enemies to profit off of American tax payers to the tune of a "windfall profit" of $562 Billion.

These same ignominious buffoons think it quite alright for their guy to profit from associations with known communists, socialists and other enemies of Freedom. Coupled with the associations that the would-be Czar has, his wife is of the same mold.

These same fools obviously doesn't know that one of their own intends to profit in a major way and that person is Mary Landrieu.

These same dope-smoking charlatans also seem to not realize that another one of their own intends to make an absolute killing off of the American tax payers by getting into bed with an enemy of theirs. Nancy Pelosi herself is teaming up with an evil oil man and will defraud the American tax payers to the tune of $10 BILLION in tax money.

These same arrogant snot-nosed, wet-behind-the-ears liars have a "poll" on their site that is absolutely fraudulent in all respects. I suppose we shouldn't expect much more than that from crooks and liars.

Little do they know, John McCain is all for the American Energy Act which encompasses an "all of the above" approach that the DNC types have said they wanted but have blocked for 30+ decades. It is only now that they all of a sudden care about high fuel costs. Perhaps they should spend more time finding the Truth instead having wet dreams with lies...Open Secrets is a good place to at least start.

I suppose this group also doesn't know about ExxonObama either. Apparently, their guy Obama received more money from Exxon than McCain did. What will they ever do with that little bit of data?

Perhaps they failed to find out that their guy Obama also met with T Boone Pickens that Obama refuses to talk about.

Anyway, the feuding might have something to do with a previous report about Hillary releasing her delegates by Wednesday. Apparently, this isn't going to happen.

Some seem to think that the Missing Link in DNC style politics will be revealed at the convention. Not hardly. It has been in plain sight to me for decades. Hate and spite, hate and spite; racism, sexism and more hate and spite. Hell. I caught onto that years ago. It is only "missing" if you suffer from willful suspension of disbelief.

So, let the feuding continue as Hillary takes into account that there was no bounce for adding Joe Biden, yet just another old dude with white hair that isn't his own.

On The Eve of the DNC Convention

Nancy Pelosi once again confirms that she is out of touch and her "power" has gone to her head. She has allowed her "power" to assert herself over the Roman Catholic Church by proclaiming that The Pope says abortion is OK. (please check out this article for an in-depth explanation) And then, she continues with the lame expression that she is trying to save the planet and that the American People really are dumb and are incapable of figuring things out all on their own.

While all that is going on, her hotel is evacuated because some psycho-babbling [SENSORED] individual is carrying weapons into the hotel she is warehoused in. We all know that she is third in line for the Presidency should anything untoward take place with any President and Vice-President but attempting to assassinate them or her - NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE - or even verbalizing that audibly is absolutely unacceptable. I hope they give the fool a life sentence under a jail and throw the key away. We have enough problems as it is without these idiots mucking things up.

On the eve of the DNC Convention, the Caucus Blog tells us that the GOP has opened up their War Room in close proximity to the DNC quagmire just to let folks know that the DNC isn't the only game in town. Also on the eve of the Big Digs in Denver, The One lashes out at McCain saying that McCain doesn't have an Economic Plan. I beg to differ. No matter The Plan that McCain has, it is sure to surpass anything a Marxist would have to offer. I have heard Czarbie's Economic Plan and only a Marxist/Socialist-HUGE Entitlement Government proponent would ever even consider that one. Remember Saddleback? The One showed his true colors there as did McCain. I can only conclude that once again, The One is lying. So much for Hope and Change that he promised.

Another interesting happenstance is the meeting that took place between The One and the one that should have been The One...Hillary and Obama had a discussion. Oh. Wait. That wasn't today...

Will Hillary release her delegates by Wednesday or not? As for party unity, are her delegates satisfied and are they happy? Will they, after being released, swing their weight to Obama or will they perform a coup on the DNC? All of this remains to be seen and do not try and apply logic to a die-hard Democrat...it will drive you insane. I am quite convinced of a coup attempt. It may succeed and it might not.

It may take the law suit proclaiming that The One is ineligible to complete the coup. We all know that The One is certainly unqualified to be President but that factoid escapes your basic moonbat and Soros sycophant. However, all Hillary has to do is cast some doubt as to whether or not Barack is a natural-born citizen. If there is any doubt whatsoever, instead of him avoiding the issue, all he needs to do is present the Real McCoy to settle the issue once and for all.

If you will recall back when this 2-year campaign began, it was said that the GOP campaign would be the most vicious in the history of American political campaigns. This has hardly been the case. The DNC components have been eating each other alive from the onset. The vacuous campaigning from the DNC elements has been spawned from the evils of political correctness and identity politics such as we have never seen. The sexism and racism has been introduced by the Democrat Party aspirants and their campaign managers. I recall hearing the racist remarks that if you didn't support Barack, you were a racist. I recall hearing the sexist remarks that if you didn't support Hillary, you were a sexist. So, the party od racism and sexism is self-imploding and in a panic maneuver, The One makes a horrid selection and chooses a hot-head, a plagiarist and a liar as his VP. Amazing.

It doesn't take much for the serious investigator to determine what American Liberalism brings to the table of American life and accomplishments. The American Liberal will tell you over and over again that only they can cause achievement and happiness. If that is true, why is it that all of the large and heavily populated cities under democrat control have the highest poverty and crime rates? How can they effectively reconcile that fact to the American People? Easy. They lie and point the finger elsewhere.

Melanie Morgan has asked if Barack can answer six basic questions but, I will extend that invitation to any DNC leader. They can and will answer them but the answers will come via platitudes and accusations of racism, division and sexism. There isn't a DNC leader anywhere in this nation that can answer a question with honesty. None. The questions posed are lengthy so you will have to take a stroll to Mels' Place.

With the stars turning their backs on The One and aligning with John McCain, is it any wonder that DNC supporters are threatening to burn Marines? and the DNC leaders will not openly condemn them? What if a GOP type threatened to burn moonbats? Would the dinosaur media be writing about it and airing the images and video on the network news outlets? Yes, they would be. Alas, it is up to the Main Street Media to report for duty seeing that the theoretical MSM is and has been AWOL for quite some time.

In June 2006, straight-talking Joe Biden went on Meet the Press and demanded accountability from the administration for the so-called Haditha massacre. Biden spoke about the incident as if the accused marines were guilty (before a trial) and called on the administration to proceed - and to be treated - as if there were a cover-up at the highest levels of government.

Well, it turned out Biden was wrong about Haditha. Eight of the Marines charged for the "massacre" and "coverup" have already been exonerated. (One case is still pending.)

Don't hold your breath but vote accordingly.

Just in case The One Obama has an identity problem; just in case he truly unclear as to who and what McCain is up against, Doug Ross has it stated very clearly.

Oh, I think he does. He's up against a Chicago politican with disturbing, suspicious ties to convicted felons; a man who lies about his far left abortion record on a routine basis; a man whose every mentor was a Marxist or an out-and-out Communist; a man who won't release any of his records (from the Annenberg Challenge, to his law-firm records, to his state legislative background or even his medical records); a man who sat for twenty years in a church that spewed the most virulent forms of racism and hatred (and then lied about hearing any of it); a man who promised his MoveOn pals that he would disarm America; and a man who routinely changes positions for partisan advantage, sometimes in a matter of hours.

And a man who treats John McCain, a certified war hero and ex-POW, like a punk. That's who John McCain is up against.

And that takes care of that...
